Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Yes, The Guy Is Very Good!
An arrest on midway Street made Antonia feel like he was on a roll!
In just two days since joining the force, he had already achieved extraordinary feats. While the full extent of his accomplishments would likely be debated by his superiors in upcoming discussions, there was no doubt he had earned his share of accolades.
In any case, two second-class merits and several third-class merits were certainly within reach!
As for the bonuses…
Over 100,000!
Antonia couldn't help but grin. In just two days of work, earning tens of thousands of dollars each day—was this what it felt like to be a police officer?
It felt pretty sweet.
But to put things into perspective, it was likely that in the entire national public security system, finding someone like Antonia, who had achieved what most might never accomplish in their entire careers in just two days, would be extremely rare.
That afternoon, the municipal leaders really did show up, bringing along their families. The so-called "guidance" was more of a casual chat, but their true purpose was to thank Antonia.
"Comrade Antonia, if it weren't for your brave actions, my child would definitely have been lost forever!"
The leaders spoke with tears in their eyes, and their family members were equally grateful.
When they first laid eyes on Antonia, many were taken aback by his imposing size and powerful demeanor. But once they learned that he was their savior, they couldn't help but feel admiration for him.
One of the leader's daughters-in-law even struck up a conversation with Antonia's parents.
Then, she said something utterly ridiculous.
"My niece, who is 20 this year, is beautiful like a flower, and she's the sales manager at a foreign company..."
Antonia couldn't help but shudder!
The others couldn't hold back their laughter.
At that point, the leader made a quick remark to stop his daughter-in-law from speaking nonsense, and the awkward moment passed. The mood lightened.
Afterward, Antonia exchanged contact information with the leader, who made it clear that Antonia could reach out for help whenever necessary. As long as it was within the scope of his authority and didn't violate the moral code, the leader promised to do his best to assist.
Hearing this, everyone couldn't help but feel envious!
Antonia didn't reject the leader's kindness, but he didn't take it too seriously either. He wasn't someone who believed in climbing the ladder quickly.
If he wanted to rise, he knew it had to be through his own efforts.
With the system's help, that would be enough!
In the end, the conversation ended on a positive note.
The municipal leaders stayed at the Chicago Police Station for just over half an hour before quickly leaving after receiving an urgent call.
"Brother Antonia, you're amazing!"
"Such a powerhouse!"
"Just two days after joining, you've already made so many impressive achievements. We're all following your lead!"
"Antonia, why not have some tea? I've got some Biluochun from my hometown. Last time your master wanted some, but I didn't give it to him. I'll give it to you today!"
"Damn it, Old Wang, you really are something! Antonia, don't hold back, take it all. And save me some for later!"
"..."
As soon as the municipal leaders left, the police station erupted with joy.
Antonia had become the center of attention, like the moon surrounded by stars. As everyone talked about his achievements, many approached him with greetings and offers of friendship.
Master Sam, however, was feeling sour!
Rex, Matt, and Marco smiled as they watched the scene unfold, and then they decided to leave, giving Antonia some space.
After both the director and the instructor had left, Sam saw the opportunity and spoke up.
"Antonia, although the special operation against human traffickers was supposed to last a month, the recent abduction of a prominent child from our Primary School has brought several departments together to assist."
"So, in our jurisdiction under the Police Station, most of the human traffickers have already been swept out, and we shouldn't focus on that for now!"
The others nodded in agreement.
Antonia grinned and responded, "Master, if you've got a task for me, I'm ready to follow your orders!"
Yes, this guy was really good!
And yet, he wasn't arrogant.
Sam, Antonia's mentor, felt a great deal of pride.
Yesterday, Sam had taken Antonia out for a day, and he had garnered a lot of credit for himself. However, because of his own confidence, he had not been assigned to work directly with Antonia today. This actually made him happy.
But then, Antonia had gone off with Ethan, caught a thief, and brought down a criminal hideout...
This was something Sam couldn't help but envy!
It was supposed to be his honor as the mentor!
At the same time, Sam realized that his apprentice, Antonia, had an extraordinary talent for catching criminals.
Whether it was petty theft, human traffickers, or even more dangerous criminals, Antonia seemed capable of apprehending them all!
And, most importantly—he was unstoppable!
No criminal could escape him!
Sam thought about this and smiled.
"Antonia, with this special operation, we should have a relatively peaceful period in our jurisdiction."
"So, as your mentor, I can't let you take all the credit. Of course, I should familiarize you with the daily duties of our department."
"Well, this afternoon, you can accompany me on a patrol. I won't keep you in the dark, I'll show you halfway Street first..."
Upon hearing this, the others rolled their eyes.
"Good one, you're a mentor, yet you're trying to fool your apprentice like this?"
However, Antonia didn't mind at all.
He had become a police officer to fight evil and bring justice. He was here to do his job.
So, he grinned and said, "Alright, I'll follow your plan, Master. It's not too late, let's head out now!"
