Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Your Nose Is Smart? Can There Be a Dog Spirit?

Sam couldn't understand Antonia's actions at all.

After a while, Antonia had caught a young man. Was he sure this guy was a thief?

This was absurd!

Sam's face darkened as he said, "Antonia, you don't need to prove your ability this way. Your performance in the past two days has already been impressive enough!"

"I only said a few words to you. I wasn't trying to lecture you, I was just…"

While speaking, Sam seemed to remember something.

He paused, then added, "Hurry up, let him go. We're policemen, not bandits. We don't need to be involved in this kind of thing—framing people and putting the blame on them!"

After turning back to Antonia, Sam addressed the young man Antonia was carrying. "Don't be nervous, kid, hey, don't cry!"

"My apprentice just joined the force. He's still learning the ropes. I'm sorry, and I'll make sure to educate him later…"

Antonia was speechless!

Seeing Sam continue to ramble on, Antonia couldn't stand it any longer.

Without bothering to explain, he simply removed the young man's jacket…

Whoosh!

Four or five mobile phones, several packs of cigarettes and lighters, and two watches clattered to the ground.

Antonia didn't even acknowledge Sam's dumbfounded expression. Instead, he fixed his eyes on the young man and said, "Are you confessing on your own, or do I need to take you back to the police station for a slow interrogation?"

The young man was crying like a baby by now!

He had made quite a haul that day. As soon as he left a medium-sized shopping mall, he was planning to find a place to sell the stolen goods and then enjoy a few days of drinking and partying.

However, just as he was feeling satisfied, he ran into Antonia at the corner.

Oh no!

The next thing he knew, he was hoisted up and dragged away!

At first, the man was so terrified that his courage nearly failed him. When he saw Antonia's police uniform, he almost fainted right there on the spot.

But Antonia didn't say anything, he just picked him up and ran!

The young man felt like a helpless boat in a storm. No matter what he said, Antonia wouldn't listen. Finally, the fear overcame him and he started crying.

"I confess, I confess!"

Once the young man was set free, he didn't dare to run away.

Instead, he quickly slipped behind Sam, clutching the corner of Sam's clothes like a child in distress.

"I'm a thief, Officer, take me away! But I have one request—don't let this big brother take me back... woo woo…"

He was almost scared out of his wits!

Sam's scalp tingled.

Because the thief, fearing another policeman, had found his own shield in the form of Sam. To make sure he'd get into prison and start his sentence quickly, he admitted to all the crimes.

Wait, what?

Is this guy really a thief?

Sam felt like his mind was about to explode. Antonia walked over, the two of them had a brief chat, and suddenly Antonia came back with a thief!

All the stolen goods had been recovered, and the thief himself had admitted his guilt.

But the real question was: how did Antonia do this?

Sam murmured, "Antonia, you've got to explain this to me. Otherwise, I won't even know how to write up the report when we get back!"

If you caught someone in the areas we patrolled before, I could maybe understand it.

But we haven't even been near that shopping mall, so how did you know a thief was there?

And how could you have seen through the wall to know he was a thief?

This is just ridiculous! Beyond ridiculous!

Of course, Antonia had prepared a response.

He grinned and said, "Master, I told you earlier, this is my ability, and I explained it to you when I caught the bus thief yesterday."

"I have a natural intuition when it comes to criminals. I can judge them by their expressions, movements, and eyes."

Antonia paused for a moment before adding, "And then there's my special talent… I have a smarter nose!"

Sam was already stunned by Antonia's earlier explanation, but this only left him even more confused.

You have a nose?

Can you have a dog's spirit in your nose?

Before Sam could ask, Antonia continued, his expression serious, "I can smell all kinds of scents around me, and most of them I can distinguish with ease."

"For instance, Master, I'm pretty sure you've eaten four types of vegetables today: leeks, chicken, winter melon, and eggplant. You've also touched a dog, and physically made contact with eight different people…"

Sam's face was full of question marks. He was starting to think that Antonia had been secretly following him!

He couldn't remember how many people he'd physically touched, but Antonia was right about every dish he'd had for lunch!

And the dog? Of course, he had rubbed its head before heading out!

Sam stood there dumbfounded.

But Antonia didn't stop there. He looked back at the young man behind him, then continued, "This guy has over 70 distinct scents on him. Over a dozen different people's scents, more than 20 kinds of electronic products, and…"

Antonia listed out all the details, deducing from the smells on the young man's body where he'd been.

Shopping malls, vegetable stalls, barber shops, and more!

Antonia didn't go into further detail, but Sam, an experienced officer, knew exactly what he was implying.

If a person has over 70 different smells on them, that's almost ten times more than a police officer who's dealt with criminals for years!

What does that mean?

It means this person is anything but normal!

Even if he's not a thief, there's definitely something wrong with him. After observing his expressions, movements, and eyes, we can confirm that he is indeed a criminal—no doubt about it!

Sam stared at the young man behind him, eyes wide in disbelief.

Clearly, Antonia was right!

Sam's face suddenly filled with amazement.

Antonia... has this ability?

Thinking about everything Antonia had done in the past two days since joining the force, Sam realized that it was entirely possible!

But still...

Sam hesitated and said, "I still can't believe it, unless…"

Antonia interrupted him immediately. "Unless I prove it to you? That's easy, Master! Just watch closely and don't blink!"

With that, Antonia suddenly sprang into action, picking up a man and a woman from the crowd who had been watching the scene unfold.
