chapter 8
Episode 8-Apostle
Tensions were high between the Feints and the new tribe.
It wasn’t so tense when I met Katria Village, but the atmosphere was bloody as the representatives of each group were wary of each other.
Feint was able to take the upper hand aggressively because he was holding a bow, but it didn’t look like he could get over it because the opponent was also holding a thick stick suitable for his long height.
“Is there a need to be wary of each other like this? It’s just that each of us went hunting anyway. We’ll hand over the hunting grounds around here to you, so let’s break up without fighting.”
When the tension was still maintained, the opponent first took a peaceful stance.
Feint also had no intention of fighting them directly, so he accepted the opponent’s words and retracted his bow.
“Okay. Let’s go our separate ways. Even if we run into each other again, don’t be too nervous. We’ll give you the prey after all.”
The woman just picked up her own men and disappeared.
There were a total of 6 of her subordinates, but one of them had a different appearance.
“I think the other side also united their forces like us?”
“I mean.”
One of them was a man who was very short compared to the others.
Instead of being short, he seemed agile, and he showed a big difference from his other subordinates to the extent that it was difficult to explain the difference between his individual body.
He was tall, but unlike the others who had fair skin, he had skin close to black.
“I’m guessing the village over there has formed an alliance like ours?”
Feint also noticed that one of them was shorter and darker than the others.
It was almost certain that only one race existed in one village, even though I had only visited three villages so far.
Paint took only the game he had hunted so far and immediately returned to the village.
“The Kinki people…”
About half a head taller than the people of Paint Village,
They deserve to be called the Kinki.
It was worth worrying and worrying about taking on a new enemy after going out hunting, but Shepid scolded the paint with an angry expression on his face.
“What the hell did the guy who would become Lemfra’s apostle do?
“Sorry. I was short on my thoughts.”
Shepid was not a man of words.
If Shepid had been in Feint’s position, he would have told the Kinki the stories about Lemfra, as he just said.
Because Lemp was everything to him.
“Okay. Let’s take a break from hunting for a while. Now that we’ve stocked up enough food, it’s almost time for the animals to hibernate.”
“I understand. Chief.”
“Didn’t you say 15 days?”
“Yes.”
“It’s the day you become Lemfra’s apostle. I’ll prepare the festival that will take place in the village, so you should refine your mindset.”
“Okay.”
Paint went to his recently built house, sat down in his seat, and began his prayers.
His prayer, which began in the afternoon, was finally finished just before nightfall.
***
“Umbababa.”
Today was a full moon day.
Thanks to the unique beauty of a full moon shining in golden color, on the day of the full moon, the villagers gathered together and looked at the moon, but today, unlike usual, it was very lively.
In the center of the village, there was a huge fire made by burning a lot of wood, and the residents around it began to make primitive songs while walking around.
It wasn’t just the people from Lemfra Village.
Hearing the news that Feint would become an apostle of Lemfra, about 50 people from Katria Village also moved to Lemfra Village to watch Feint become an apostle.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes.”
The appearance of the paint was different from usual.
Her head was covered with a crown made of leaves, and her body was painted with black dye.
Lempra was a god portrayed in black.
He wanted to get closer to that god, so he stood in front of the flames, dyeing his whole body black.
As Feint stood in front of the flames, the entire village fell silent.
“You ignorant bastards, I said that I would appoint you as an apostle on the full moon. I didn’t tell you exactly what time it would be, but I’m drinking a lot of kimchi soup.”
“It can’t be helped, right? If you twist it, the last time you gave an oracle, you should have said that you would appoint me as an apostle at the exact time when the full moon would rise. They say that this is what happens because I am vague about it.”
It’s also out of shape that Feint is dragging aggro on such a large scale and taking more time.
[I was going to appoint you when the atmosphere is a little more ripe, but didn’t it come out too quickly? No matter how much you want to be my apostle, I can’t forgive you for ignoring my opinion and dragging aggro like this]
“Lempra-sama!”
The paint fell to the floor in an instant.
This time, because the connection between Feint and the villagers had not been severed, the villagers could also hear Feint’s words.
-Hey Lemfra!
Everyone in the village bowed their heads toward the spot where the paint had fallen.
A courtesy to the absolute existence that protects them.
The villagers knew how to keep it.
They couldn’t hear Lemfra, but when Feint mentioned Lemfra’s name, they knew he was around.
The thought that God exists in the same place as ours made my heart swell.
The son of the village chief, the idea that Feint, who will now lead us, will become his apostle made them feel as if they had finally fully become Lemfra’s children.
Their high spirits gathered towards Lemfra.
“Wow, that’s spectacular.”
Katria’s complaints, which no one will hear, pass by.
[They are laying mats on each other… Paint.]
“Yes! Mr. Lempra!”
[Before you became my apostle, you were a member of a village. Throw away the thought of being recognized by me on a subject that is not even recognized by the people of your village. This is the first test. Prove to your villagers who borrowed my name that you have the qualifications to become my apostle.]
“Okay.”
Feint got up slowly and looked around at the villagers.
At the sudden appearance of Feint, several children looked up at him, wondering if he had already been ordained an apostle, but all but a few were still lowering their heads.
“Listen, everyone. Today, I want to be reborn as an apostle of Lord Lemfra. I will ask. Is there anyone who can stop me from becoming an apostle of Lord Lemfra? Is there anyone who thinks that I am not enough as an apostle of Lord Lemfra?”
“We agree that Feint-nim becomes Lemfra-sama’s apostle!”
I heard the voice of a woman who was still young in the far corner.
“We agree that Feint-nim becomes Lemfra-sama’s apostle!”
As soon as one person sang, the atmosphere spread quickly.
In an instant, everyone in the village excitedly called his name, as if only Feint could become Lemfra’s apostle.
– Lempra! Lempra!
-Paint! Paint!
The names of the two mixed together.
[Good. That’s enough to admit it. This is the second and final test. Let’s go into the flames.]
The fire Lemfra was talking about was the fire that was kindled right in the center of the village.
The heat emitted by the burning of countless trees boasted tremendous firepower, reaching several meters in height.
-Hwarreuk
Paint went into the flames without a moment’s hesitation.
The fear of being burned to death could not stop him from walking.
The only thing that mattered to him was Lemfra.
He was willing to give his own life if Lem Fra asked him to do so.
[I like your faith. Pass.]
It was obviously not hot even though it came into the fire.
The fire felt cool.
Even though his body was covered in flames so intense that even his meat would be cooked in an instant, Feint felt the flames to be just cool.
-Rurrr
The flames were slowly sucked into the body of the paint.
The flames that burned countless trees were absorbed by the body of the paint and disappeared.
After all the fire was gone, a pattern of a much deeper color than before was embedded in Paint’s forehead.
[From now on, you are my apostle. I will prepare a place for you so that you can give everything for me.]
After that, Lemfra’s voice could not be heard.
‘Did I become an apostle?’
When I clenched my fist, I felt a power that was incomparable to before.
Feint raised his head and looked around.
There were people from his own village, and there were also people from the village of Catria.
Although they were people with different appearances, we were all tied under Lemfra-sama.
“As an apostle of Lemfra, I will dedicate everything to him.”
Paint’s eyes burned red.
“Those who follow me and give their all to him, follow me from now on.”
-Paint! Paint!!
The whole village heated up.
The true festival has begun.
