Sitting in his office, with Maria Hill standing on his left and Phillip Coulson on his right, Fury focused his one good eye on the screen in front of him.

Which was displaying news coverage related to the incident involving the Hulk that took place in New York a week ago.
An inciwdent that was still a very hot topic.
For many reasons.
Especially for Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. Since during said incident Dr. Samuel Sterns, and all his research, Emil Blonsky, whom people were now calling Abomination, and finally the Hulk himself had all disappeared. With S.H.I.E.L.D. still having found no trace of any of them whatsoever.
Which is why Fury has been fielding calls from all his bosses for the past few days.
Who needless to say we're not one bit happy.
Fury continued watching the news coverage of the incident for a few more seconds before then tapping a button stop his desk to shut it off.
He then sat up straighter in his chair, before quickly looking between Maria and Coulson. "Talk to me. Anything new so far?"
"I'm afraid not director." Maria spoke up. "We still haven't found any traces of Sterns and his research, Blonsky, or Banner." She explained. "But we're leaving no stone unturned."
"Understood." Fury replied. "Now, how about the situation in regards to Ross?"
"His court martial has been scheduled for within the new two months sir." Coulson said.
Since after the Harlem incident involving the Hulk Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. had been tasked with arresting Thaddeus Ross and those under his commands. On the orders from not only the World Security Council, but also high level politicians and military personnel apart of the US government.
Who wanted Ross to answer for his actions.
Especially after information regarding his actions on his pursuit of Banner had been leaked to the media. But the real nail in his coffin is when his own daughter Betty not only gave an interview on CNN but also told the authorities of her father's actions.
This had quickly seen general Thaddeus Ross stripped of his rank, jailed, and pretty much lose all his political capital and or any kind of authority.
"Alright." Fury replied to Coulson. "At least one thing is currently heading in the right direction." He spoke. "Keep up the search for Banner and the others. Dismissed."
With that Hill and Coulson took their leave from Fury's office.
After they did the man turned to face the window, wondering exactly where the gamma-related subjects had gone off too.
As well as if anyone in particular was behind it.

Reaching the offices of the Future Foundation Luke walked through the front doors without any hesitation. Heading straight for the front desk, where a receptionist was seated.
But before he could even say a word the receptionist spoke up.
"Seventh floor, last room on the left Mr. Cage." She said.
"Understood." Luke said after a few seconds.
He then headed for the elevator, and got on.
After which he headed to the seventh floor just as instructed and then headed for the last room on the left side on the hallway.
Though after opening the door he got a slightly shocked expression on his face when he saw not only the woman named Jessica who had talked to him before, but also three others. Two women and another man, whom he didn't recognize.
Seeing Luke Jessica smiled. "Ah Mr. Cage. Good. Now we can finally begin. So please, come in and take a seat so we can get started."
"Sorry, but with what exactly?" He asked.
"Why, discussing matters related to the team you are all going to be apart of naturally." Jessica spoke.
As she did Luke frowned. As did the other three in the room.
"Excuse me, team? You never said anything about this before." The other man said.
"Yeah. I'm not really a play well with others type." One of the women spoke up.
"But isn't that the reason you're all here in the first place?" Jessica asked them. Ignoring their curious looks and putting a serious expression on her face. "Because you want to protect the innocent better but can't do it on your own." She spoke. "Tell me, why are you all here today?"
"Because of what just happened in Harlem where I live." Luke easily replied.
Not seeing any reason to lie.
For the incident with the Hulk was why he finally decided to take up Jessica and her bosses offer.
Because Luke knew he was strong, but after witnessing the events with the Hulk he knew he stood no chance against that monster. At least not as he was.
And he couldn't stop thinking what if another incident happened like that again in the future and the Fantastic Four were nowhere to be found?
That's why he wanted to take up the offer.
"To keep Hell's Kitchen a safer place." The man spoke.
"What they said." The female from earlier added.
"Right. You all want to protect others. And having others that share the same goals will go a long way in accomplishing this." Jessica spoke. "Hence why we are a forming a team around you four that's sole focus will be handling threats related specifically to New York. Its name, the Defenders." She explained. "Oh and before we continue allow me to introduce you all to each other. Jessica Jones, Matthew Murdock, Elektra Natchios, and Luke Cage, meet your new teammates." Jessica Drew said.
As she did the new Defenders all started looking at each other, sizing each other up.
While she just sat back and relaxed.
Letting New York's newest superhero team get comfortable with each other.
