I am the Emperor of Humanity across the Multiverse

Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Charge! Rising Flames

Shortly after, Sandsea Town and the two military fortresses were ablaze with light, the night sky completely illuminated by magic, making it almost as bright as day.

On the southern walls, human musket and crossbow soldiers, elven archers, and dwarven troops equipped with various long-range weapons stood in ranks.

Between Sandsea Town and the fortresses, the main forces of the three allied races, numbering over 100,000, were gathered in multiple formations.

Heavy cavalry stood at the front, light cavalry behind them, followed by infantry wielding giant shields and spears.

Ninety percent of the forces were led by Tinas and Dairne, consisting of elves and dwarves. The remaining forces, numbering about 10,000, were made up of local human soldiers from Sandsea Town and volunteer troops from across Terrera. Notably, this included the Griffon Knights and imperial regular troops, who had defied the Chancellor's orders and come to aid the defense.

Though the Griffon Knights numbered fewer than a thousand, they were the backbone of the "airborne units" of the allied forces. The imperial regulars, while not as agile or skilled as the elves, were heavily armored and equipped with heavy shields, making them veritable "tanks" on the battlefield.

The array of forces signaled that the allied army wasn't settling for passive defense but was prepared to take advantage of their current strength and the terrain to engage the enemy head-on.

In contrast, the forces of Moydo in the south had also completed their mobilization. Dark clouds were rolling back in, ready to engulf the area surrounding Sandsea Town.

At the forefront of the allied army, all the leaders and generals had gathered.

Among them, the most notable were Elven Queen Tinas, mounted on a white stag; Dwarven leader Dairne, riding a massive wild boar; and Lord Shihoton of Sandsea Town, clad in plate armor and mounted on a brown horse.

Whoosh—whoosh—!

With a gust of wind, the leader of the Griffon Knights, clad in a red cloak, descended before them on a griffon with a wingspan of over 20 meters.

The griffon folded its wings as its rider approached Tinas, Dairne, and Shihoton, relaying the information in a clear voice: "The scouts report that the enemy forces of Moydo are beyond measure... The exact words were 'endless.' We may be facing their full-scale offensive."

Hearing this, Dairne swung his warhammer with a hearty laugh: "Hah! Finally! I didn't think those wretched gods and their lousy followers would be so cowardly at first. Now, at last, we can give them a real thrashing!"

"Hahaha! Smash them all!"

"Disgusting creatures! Bring them on, and I'll kill every last one!"

The dwarves echoed Dairne's bold words with their own roars, showing little fear of Moydo's vast army. Their confidence and scorn seemed to inspire those nearby, especially the human volunteers and imperial knights who had come against orders.

The elves, meanwhile, remained calm and composed, their stoic demeanor unchanged.

Shihoton, the lord of Sandsea Town, smiled wryly. "Looks like... this is a moment worthy of the history books."

As a leader, Shihoton didn't give one of his usual morale-boosting speeches. There was no need. Those who had come to face the darkness were all brave warriors from their respective races, already possessing iron wills.

Even knowing that death might be the only outcome, no one showed signs of retreat. The need for rousing speeches was gone.

Soon enough, dark clouds crackling with electricity rolled in, covering the sky and plunging the area into darkness, which would soon engulf the battlefield.

The allied forces stood in silence, their eyes fixed forward, watching as the flames of Moydo's army grew more intense on the horizon.

Tinas rode her massive white stag to the front of the lines.

"Everyone!" she called out, her voice amplified by magic. "We elves may not be as skilled in speeches as humans, nor as bold as the dwarves, but!"

As she spoke, Tinas's form began to radiate a silver glow.

Drawing her sword from her waist, she swung it fiercely towards the enemy in the distance…

Swoosh—!

A massive, translucent blade, over a thousand meters long and identical in shape to Tinas's own sword, materialized above Moydo's vanguard.

As the sword followed the motion of her swing, it hurtled toward the ground at incredible speed.

Whoosh—!!

A blinding silver light erupted, causing a searing pain in the eyes of those who witnessed it.

Boom—!!

A deafening explosion followed, shaking the earth and sending shockwaves through the air.

As the dust settled and the light dimmed, a mushroom cloud could be seen slowly rising in the distance. The vanguard of Moydo's army had suffered devastating losses, and it was as if the cries of the fallen could be heard from afar.

"But!" Tinas continued after casting her powerful magic, "We elves excel in long-range attacks. And I believe that if our races stand united, we can hold back the darkness and welcome the arrival of the new emperor!"

As she finished, Dairne roared, "Though I'm not fond of elves, she's right! Open fire!!"

"Open fire!" Shihoton echoed the command.

Boom—boom—!!

Swoosh—swoosh—!!

The artillery of Sandsea Town and the two fortresses unleashed a barrage of firepower. Countless magical cannonballs and rocket-propelled projectiles streaked through the night sky, crashing into Moydo's vanguard.

Boom—boom—boom—!

Explosions erupted everywhere, dealing heavy casualties.

The twisted and deformed followers of Moydo were either vaporized by the intense heat or shredded by the shrapnel. Even those enhanced by Moydo's blessings, with stronger enchanted armor, couldn't withstand the relentless barrage from the allied artillery.

Yet the corrupted vanguard, having been thoroughly warped by the dark influence of Moydo, felt no fear and continued their advance, launching a counterattack of their own.

The battlefield was soon filled with the flashing lights of clashing magic.

The dwarves' magical barriers, recently upgraded, held strong, while Moydo's forces sacrificed their followers without hesitation, ensuring that neither side suffered significant losses initially.

Before long, the vanguard drew closer, and the allied heavy cavalry charged forward.

Boom... boom...

The ground trembled as tens of thousands of horses thundered forward.

"Roar—!"

From the sky came the fierce cries of the griffons.

The distance between the forces of darkness and the allied army rapidly closed.

"For Terrera! For our people!"

"For our lord! For death!!"

The battle cries from both sides grew louder as the armies collided.

Boom!!!

The heavy cavalry smashed into Moydo's forces with overwhelming force, trampling everything in their path. Those unfortunate enough to stand in the way were crushed beneath the hooves of the horses or skewered by the cavalry's long spears.

Meanwhile, the Griffon Knights used their aerial advantage to harass and destroy Moydo's siege engines. Though the enemy had flying creatures of their own, resembling winged lizards, the elven archers created an impenetrable web of arrows, clearing the skies for the knights.

On the ground, Queen Tinas led the charge on her white stag.

Her sword flashed as she weaved through the ranks of corrupted followers and beasts, cutting down everything in her path. The silver glow surrounding her inspired the cavalry to fight even harder.

But as the momentum of the cavalry charge began to wane and Moydo's second wave of forces arrived, the allied heavy cavalry found themselves bogged down in fierce close combat, where casualties began to mount on both sides.

Suddenly—

"Roar!!"

The bloodthirsty general from before reappeared in the sky, his massive bat wings flapping as he hovered above the battlefield.

With a deep, nasal voice, he laughed, "Brothers! Join me in hunting down the elven queen! If we can offer her flesh and soul to our lord, we will be rewarded with even greater power! Hahaha!!"

"For our lord!"

"Die, filthy elf!"

Dozens of massive beings, each over six meters tall, with red skin and horned heads, appeared around Tinas through a sacrificial teleportation spell. It seemed Moydo had anticipated her importance and prepared this trap to eliminate their greatest threat once and for all.

However, neither the bloodthirsty general nor his comrades noticed that ten "fireballs" had already broken through the dark clouds, descending rapidly toward Moydo's main forces—

Whoosh—!!

On the battlefield, ten miniature "suns" suddenly rose.
