chapter 1
1 – Return
When I first woke up, I thought I was seeing a kaleidoscope that I had only heard about.
A trial given to me by God in the sense of seeing what I’ve done? A bit like that
I thought God was throwing me through this ordeal to rehabilitate and repent before I die, having lived like an idiot.
However, it was so peaceful for a revolving lantern, and no matter how much time passed, nothing happened.
Usually speaking of a kaleidoscope, it would be normal for my past life to pass by at a rapid pace, but far from being able to see my past life, nothing happened on my peaceful bed.
There was no sign of anything happening, and in my room in the corner of the county’s house, as always, there was only silence.
“······Am I not dead?”
At this point, I’m starting to think that I’m lucky that I’m not dead yet.
My brain really recognized that I was dead, but in fact, my brain misrecognized it because of so much pain.
It makes some sense… It was the most meaningless and useless idea in the world.
This is because Adele’s brain misrecognizes it because of the pain caused by her chronic disease.
Even if I think about it, it’s a really ridiculous idea, but I couldn’t follow the current situation with my head enough to think this.
The reality that was unfolding before my eyes was not something I could easily accept.
“I’m… Obviously dead.”
I am dead.
In the most secluded room in Count Kindred’s family.
In this lonely room, it’s hard to believe that it’s a count’s room without a single proper decoration.
I am dead. This was an undeniable fact, and it has already happened that will never change.
I’m saying it now, but I didn’t have any resentment or lingering feelings about my death.
First of all, it was my own choice, and I think it was the right thing to do for Adele and my family, who I’ve been struggling with so far.
That’s why there was no hesitation in absorbing Adele’s chronic illness, the main character and my fiancée…
“Why am I fine?”
Of course, the chronic disease absorbed from Adele seemed to be intact, but at least by my standards, it was fine.
That’s because right before he died, his body couldn’t move at will, he couldn’t eat properly, and he was so weak that he got all sorts of diseases.
The energy of the chronic disease he absorbed was still the same, but at least his physical condition wasn’t to the level I just mentioned.
At least I was able to breathe well, and it wasn’t difficult to get up.
If that doesn’t work, you can say that there is something wrong, but in fact, my body in the past, not my current body, was not in a state that could be said to be absolutely normal in the eyes of ordinary people.
I’m not proud of being in bad shape, but… It’s true.
Well, this isn’t important.
“Then… There are only two hypotheses to explain my physical condition.”
I don’t know how it happened, but it’s either that the chronic disease I’ve absorbed has improved, or that I’ve returned to the past.
First of all, if you check the first hypothesis, it was obviously nonsense.
There was no way that the main character, Adele’s chronic disease, could be cured so easily. Of course, the people of Adele’s family, the Duke of Listonia, were not fools, and they would not have judged an easily curable disease as incurable because they could not cure it.
If it had been a minor disease, Adele wouldn’t have suffered so much from the disease, and the entire Listonian family wouldn’t have been so happy when I absorbed the disease and got better.
“I don’t think the first one ever…”
The first one didn’t seem like it at all, but the second hypothesis didn’t make sense either.
Returning time to the past, I’m in a novel, but isn’t this really like a novel?
Of course, it had more credibility than the first hypothesis.
“It could be the unique magic of the people around me…”
mana.
Everyone in this world lives with magic.
Mana flowed through people’s bodies along with blood, and people used that mana to use various magics.
The quality and quantity of mana is also expressed as a magical state called a circle… But that’s not important right now.
The important thing here is that there is a unique magic power.
Most of the magic people usually use is magic related to elements.
Fire, water, wind, ice, earth, lightning, etc. Most people use magic with an element that suits them well, and the magic they use doesn’t deviate much from the element.
However, there are people who use magic that is not specific to these elements, so others have called those who use this kind of magic ‘possessors of unique magic’.
Inherent mana.
In other words, magic and mana that can only be used by those who possess it and cannot be used by others.
It is not only difficult to find a person with unique magical powers, but also difficult to meet once in a lifetime.
That’s why it’s also called God’s Blessing because of its unique magical power.
There are very few people who possess that much, and it is not easy to meet people with unique magical powers, but in the case of Lian Kindred, they had a unique magical power called ‘absorption’.
It is a unique magic that can absorb anything in a person, and with this, Adele’s chronic disease that the famous people who claim to fly could not cure was able to be solved at once.
It would be a little more correct to see it as carrying the burden instead of solving it, though.
Anyway, just as I solved Adele’s chronic illness through my inherent magic, it was said that others could have turned time back into the past through the inherent magic of regression.
‘Or a great wizard who can use time reversal magic.’
Since time reversal was not impossible with magic, a wizard of a tremendous level could have performed time reversal, but no wizard has reached that level yet.
So it was correct to say that the only creature that could use time reversal was the dragon that had risen to the final level, the 9th circle, from birth, and since the dragon knew me and sent me back to the past, it was more correct to say that it was someone else’s own magical power. .
“Are you really… Back in the past?”
Thus, my opinion gradually began to lean toward the fact that I did the time reversal, although I couldn’t tell who’s unique magic power it was.
Inherent magic is by no means common, but even though I have it, I cannot conclude that the people around me do not have it.
– Smart
While I was thinking about it, I heard a knock at my door, where I normally don’t hear knocks.
“······ Who are you?”
There is no one to come.
After being disappointed in me, my family moved my room to a corner here and counted the number of visits on their hands, and the servants of the other counts often ignored me knowing that I was treated as an ugly duckling in the count’s family. .
At least, the person who will come must be Stella.
“Who are you?”
“Brother! It’s me!”
My prediction that Knock’s owner might be Stella was correct.
And with a clattering sound, Stella shouted ‘Mr. It’s time to wake up!’ When I entered the room, I had no choice but to admit my thoughts that I had been thinking about.
I’m back in the past.
At first, I thought it was simply not dead, but seeing Stella’s reaction, I was convinced that I was wrong.
Stella, who cried so much when I died, couldn’t have reacted like that when she saw me alive.
When I was dying, Stella, who was the only one by her side, would not come to wake me up with such a bright expression on her face.
“Brother? Why are you awake?”
“Huh…? Oh, he opened his eyes early today.”
“I always had to come in and shake the boy before he could wake up. Finally, the boy has grown even more!”
“…”
Stella’s way of speaking, as if she were praising me, but secretly criticizing things she didn’t like about me.
‘It’s been a while since Stella talked like that.’
In the past, when I was not sick and was living like an idiot, I often listened to it, but afterward, when I was lying in bed after absorbing Adele’s illness, my body became weak.
‘Do not worry, Young master. Everything will be fine.’
That would also be the case because as I continued to live in bed, Stella focused only on taking care of me.
There was little time to use the playful Stella’s unique way of speaking.
“Boss? Are you mad by any chance?”
When I was lost in thought and didn’t say anything, Stella carefully addressed her with a frightened expression, wondering if I was offended by her own words.
“Poop.”
The expression was so cute and funny that I burst into laughter.
“What… What’s so funny!”
When I burst out laughing, Stella, who was sure to know that she was embarrassed to say it, screamed as her face blushed.
Though it only made me feel a little cuter.
“No, just a little funny.”
“Seeing, that’s okay. I won’t talk to you all day.”
Stella tried to pout because I laughed so hard.
‘If you get angry like that, you really wouldn’t say anything to me all day.’
Having experienced Stella’s pouting a few times before, it was not advisable to experience it again, so she had no choice but to calm her down with all her might.
“So Stella, what’s up?”
I calmed down Stella to some extent, and when Stella had calmed down a bit, I asked Stella what she was doing.
Stella often visited my room in the past, but when she did, there was always a reason, even if it was a small reason.
“Right! Young master, the Count told you to come find him because he has something to say to you?”
“The Count?”
The Count is looking for me? The Count’s visit to me is something that has never happened before…
There was a day when I was thinking so hard about the things that the Count had called me to do, and then all of a sudden it passed by.
“Stella, what month and day is it today?”
“Today?”
Stella asked me back as if I was asking something like that, but it was a very important matter to me right now.
“Oh, today.”
“Today is the xx month xx of the year xx, right?”
“Oh.”
It was also that day.
The day the count called me and gave me a great deal of trouble over what had happened the previous day.
The day after I absorbed the chronic illness from Adele, and the day I received the notice of breakup from the Listonia family.
It was the day Adele and I were no longer engaged.
