chapter 21
21 – 5-Godhead
*
“…Help me…Please…Please…”
All the candidates and instructors who came to Homeland for the ceremony turned their heads toward the sound.
It was, of course, the direction we came up to Homeland from the small boat.
There was a woman wearing a white dress.
She was sobbing with her long black hair covering her face.
Even in her fog, she could be seen as clearly as she was.
There was no one here to figure out the situation with stupid questions such as ‘Is there anyone in Homeland who is in distress?’
That being was clearly demonic to anyone.
The only question that arises is why the five sword experts didn’t get caught in the hunt at the same time.
‘The highest level of demons know how to think, and even deceive people with human words.’
The words I heard during demonology class quickly passed through my mind.
As the saying goes, if that demon was of the highest rank, there would be no odds with this power.
The instructors seemed to have the same idea, swallowing dry saliva and forming a formation with their sword blades raised.
“Help me… Help me…”
The demon muttered.
Before the murmur was over, the instructors charged at the demon.
Three lower level sword experts and one intermediate level.
If you want to increase your chances of survival with the least amount of power, now, when the devil is defenseless, was your chance.
The instructors charged quickly.
The formation created in that instant was flawless.
The decision to not give the enemy a chance was also excellent.
“Why are you trying to kill me?”
-f*ck!
The head of the instructor who swung the sword the most swiftly fell to the floor.
Even though he was protecting his body with self-defense, the first instructor lost his life as soon as he hit the floor, his brain and blood splattered.
The second instructor kicked off the ice and turned around.
The blade flashed and circled along his arm.
A neat aura rushed to the devil.
His sword was intercepted by the demon’s hand.
The sword pierced his throat and the second instructor died.
The third instructor who was aiming for his back.
I didn’t stop the offensive even after seeing the two dead earlier.
The relationship and strong will were worthy of being an example to others.
No matter how strong the demon’s body is, it will not be able to stop the sword wrapped in aura.
He might have thought so.
When the sword in his back broke as it was, he closed his eyes tight as if expecting that his life would fade away in vain.
At last, the devil’s back kick crushed his fabric.
The fourth instructor was quick-witted.
He noticed during the offensive that his own attacks wouldn’t even work for him.
He shouted at his candidacy.
Run away.
That was his last will.
“Did you receive my grace?”
The demon’s hand reached out to the fourth instructor.
Then the fourth instructor’s body stiffened.
At first it was snow.
His ears, nose, and mouth vomited blood in turn, and the fourth instructor was killed by the seed of negativity burst from the danteon.
All of this took only 30 seconds.
“That’s strange? I told you to help me. Why? Why are you trying to kill me?”
As he drew his sword and threw it, the devil murmured incomprehensibly.
Through her thick fog, she was terrifyingly clear.
A white clown mask was visible between the long parted bangs.
Wearing a white dress that came down to her calves and long sleeves that reached down to her hands.
The calves visible under the dress looked like a frozen blue corpse.
The red blood that splashed on the demon’s body froze and dripped before it soaked into the clothes.
I couldn’t move a single step and had no choice but to watch the situation.
There were four instructor articles saying that only those with a reputation for excellence in the Lighthouse of Humanity were selected, but I couldn’t hurt a single one.
The result did not change even if there were a bunch of candidates.
“Ummm, is it because I didn’t introduce myself? If that’s the case, I’m sorry. Human etiquette is hard to learn even if you learn it.”
The devil gently lifted the hem of his dress and said hello.
“Nice to meet you, cute piglets of the Humanity Lighthouse. I’m Kwarha. Speaking of the Great Evil of Plague, is Alana?”
I couldn’t understand the pronunciation of the name part as if it was an ancient language.
It was a pronunciation I had never heard in my life.
If I had to use it as a tuning fork, it would be close to Kwaalukkakh.
However, there was no one here who did not know what kind of existence it was referring to.
Just below the Demon Lord Moloch.
The six great demons that drove mankind to hell.
Plague, Beast, Ice, Darkness, Creation, Betrayal.
Among them, Qarha, the Great Demon of Plague.
A mythical being that was dared to be mentioned when scaring a disobedient child appeared in front of my eyes.
I didn’t dare to do anything about it.
The tip of my sword trembled like an aspen tree.
“Don’t worry. I don’t really intend to kill all of you. Um, maybe? hahahaha, I’m so fickle. I’m not sure what to do either?”
The Archdemon Qarha was delighted as he put down the corpse of the instructor he was carrying.
“At first I just wanted to get some help? I felt the energy of an old nemesis. You know it’s Jin? I wanted to ask if you guys knew? But now I can’t feel it? Was it my mistake?”
Qarha turned his head from place to place, seemingly searching for Jin among his candidates.
Was it because of the gay guy Jean hid her body somewhere?
I managed to control my beating heart and stay calm.
“By the way. Even if you don’t follow the etiquette, isn’t it too dangerous to wield a knife first? I only asked for help… Well, it’s okay! I’m lenient! You tried to kill me, but I’ll forgive your friends and bring them back to life. I’ll give.”
As Qarha clapped, the corpses of the instructors wriggled.
As she said, the instructors were revived.
As the lowest demon verb.
– Kreur.
Their blue eyes gleamed and howled like beasts, but they couldn’t see what they looked like when they were alive.
It felt like a dance mocking the dead.
They were deprived of even their rest, spilling blood and brains that hadn’t dried up yet.
As the name suggests, the demon of plague, the madman Qarha, was well-versed in disease and black magic.
She leads a rotten body, resurrects dead humans, and leads the front line of demons.
She spread a plague on mankind with the germs she planted on the corpse.
Her pus and phlegm are holy water offered to her.
Boils and fevers are fervent prayers offered by fanatics.
Wherever she passed, her painful moans echoed like a hymn.
“Huh? You don’t seem happy? I guess you’re not very close with these guys? Maybe I’m more close with these guys? Right, friends?”
-Kraa.
Like a dog barking at the owner’s call, the verb body cried.
As she got closer with each step, an unbearable chill crept over her body.
Her limbs seemed to freeze.
The more she inhaled, the more her lungs ached from the cold air.
Should I run away now?
Or should I lower my stance and beg for her life?
But she didn’t seem to be able to survive either way.
I was terribly helpless in the face of a slow approaching death.
“Great One. I don’t know what you’re looking for, but it’s not here.”
It was Barton Wigner, the son of a wealthy man, who raised his voice against a living legend in silence.
His voice was shaking and his eyes were locked in fear, but his actions were full of courage more than anyone else.
“Look. All we have here are lowly human beings. There is no entertainment for you. So great one. Why don’t you have mercy and ignore us?”
The eyes of the mask lingered on Barton for a long time.
Quarha asked in a slow tone.
“Well, why do I have to pretend I didn’t see you guys?”
“Aren’t friends of friends friends? You called our instructors friends, so we shouldn’t be friends either. Is it possible that a great being will kill a friend?”
Barton’s conclusion brought a moment of silence.
I tried to feel the return of the situation sensuously while being blown by the cold and bitter wind.
“Huh, hahahaha! You have a gorgeous tongue that doesn’t match your humble talent! I really like it! Yes, dear friend. What’s your name?”
“Barton Wigner.”
“All right! Barton Wigner, my friend. I’ll grant your wish.”
As if Barton’s pun had worked, Quarha slowly opened the way.
There was no need to doubt whether he really intended to let go.
If she wants to kill us, she can kill us anytime.
I had to move quickly before I changed my mind.
“By the way, my friend. Is it okay if we leave the road so ruthlessly before parting?”
Qarha showed her hand that was hidden under her long sleeve.
Pus was flowing from boils all over his blue forearm.
Even just brushing against it was enough to kill a human on the spot.
“Yeah! We’re leaving a long way, so why don’t we shake hands goodbye before we go? If one of you shakes my hand, I’ll let you live.”
Joining hands with the Great Demon of Plague was tantamount to death for ordinary humans.
Kwarha was forced to make a choice.
Who will sacrifice for everyone.
Don’t try to get out of the situation with a pun, show your determination.
It seemed like he was saying that.
The candidates watched in front of their eyes as the dead instructors were not treated with the manners of the dead and became verbs.
Who can easily lay down their own lives in front of the mythological great devil who insults even death?
In that sense, Barton was born with the heart of a hero.
Barton thought for a moment about Qarha’s words, then tried to step forward.
If Amber hadn’t stopped him from behind, he would have gone straight to Qarha.
“What are you doing…”
“You idiot! Are you really going to run away from this backcountry?! There must be another way! Hold still!”
An angry Amber grabbed Barton by the scruff of his neck and did not let go.
I didn’t agree with Amber’s insistence that there was another way, but he didn’t want to send the person who created the slightest opportunity to death.
“Yes, Amber is right. Barton, you saved us all. So now get out of here.”
“What are you talking about! Then let’s all search together?! I created a situation in which someone had to sacrifice with my useless words! I have to finish it!”
Barton shouted in disbelief at my words.
As he said, in the end someone had to step forward.
And that role was mine.
“I’m leaving.”
