I Became the Handyman That the Heroines Are Obsessed With

chapter 2

Episode 2 – Reborn into the World of a Game (2)

Even after Epitrina had left, I couldn’t leave the spot for a while.

It was because I didn’t know exactly how my ability would be activated.

She had called herself a goddess overseeing this world.

Overseeing this world meant she sounded like the ‘chief god’ of this world.

In other words, the power I possess is given to me by the chief god of this world.

‘But why did Epitrina grant me such power?’

Epitrina had told me that the power she gave me was the ability to repair everything.

It was also something I instinctively realized when she gave me her power.

‘Is there something I can test this on?’

I got up from my seat. Simply sitting still wouldn’t make a tool to test my ability drop from the sky.

I decided to look around.

As I slowly looked around, I was able to obtain more information than I had expected.

First, the structure that seemed to be made of bricks was not a wall but a kind of fence.

And the pillars nearby seemed to be for supporting a large and heavy roof, like those of a temple or a city hall building, as they were much thicker than the pillars of an ordinary house.

‘Could this place have been used as a temple?’

It was still premature to make a decision as I didn’t have enough information.

To gather more information, I cautiously explored the surroundings.

As I ventured outside the collapsed building, I could see a sparkling light in the distance.

It was likely that there was a village over there.

However, I had nothing right now, and it seemed like it would take at least two or three hours to walk to where the village was visible.

Therefore, there was only one thing I needed to do before leaving this place to find the village.

‘I need to find a tool to protect myself in the vicinity.’

Even though this place was a game world, it was a reality for me who had to survive here.

Moreover, in the game of Eiracro, beautiful girl characters fight against monsters, rebels, demons, devils, and so on, making the world full of dangers everywhere.

‘If only there was a useful tool.’

I started searching the ruins, which seemed to be a temple, in the hopes of finding a useful tool for myself.

“Oh, there’s a hammer?”

The first thing I found was a hammer with a lot of rust on it.

Thankfully, the handle connected to the hammerhead was only dry, not rotten.

I picked up the hammer that had fallen to the ground.

Then, in my head, I began to think about how to use my repair ability through this hammer.

The method to use my repair ability was very simple.

All I had to do was look at the object I wanted to fix, think in my heart that I wanted to fix it, and then hit the object three times with the tool in my hand.

And what came to my mind was a scene of a blacksmith in a forge, striking a red-hot piece of iron with a hammer.

I searched the building a bit more to see if there was anything worth trying to use this ability on.

That’s when I found a wrapped bag near where I found the hammer, and it seemed to contain something.

‘What’s inside?’

I cautiously opened the wrapped bag and found various items inside.

A money pouch with about fifteen silver coins.

A dagger that seemed to have been carried for self-defense, but the blade was broken and detached.

A small frying pan, a pot, and a pot lid that seemed to be carried for cooking.

And lastly, a rusty sword about the length of an adult man’s arm, housed in an old scabbard.

Among them, my eyes were drawn first to the rusty sword in the old scabbard.

If I attacked someone with this sword, wouldn’t they die from tetanus rather than blood loss?

Anyway, that’s how old the sword was.

I picked up the sword with my left hand, hesitantly, but at that moment, an inexplicable longing began to burn from within my chest.

Fix the sword.

Hold the sword, and strike it with the hammer.

Grab the sword.

Swing the hammer down.

Following the orders from something within my chest, I raised the hammer high in my right hand.

Then, I struck the old sword in my left hand with the hammer.

– Clink! Clink! Clink!

As I struck the blade three times vigorously with the hammer, accompanied by a lively sound, a surprising event occurred.

When I struck the old, rusted sword in my left hand with a hammer three times, a faint cluster of light began to envelop the sword.

“What? What’s happening?”

The faint cluster of light that wrapped around the rusted sword soon disappeared, and no longer was the rusty, old sword present.

In its place was a sword emitting a faint luster, as if it had just come out of a forge, without a single blemish.

The rusty blade, which seemed as if it might break while swinging rather than cutting anyone, had vanished.

In its stead was a sharp blade that seemed capable of making blood droplets scatter in every direction just by lightly touching the skin.

Even the handle and guard of the sword had been transformed into new ones.

Even the round decoration at the end of the handle, which had fallen off, was back as if nothing had happened, looking pristine and clean.

The moment I saw it, I naturally realized the value of this ability.

“With this, I could make a fortune if I do it right?”

Simply by striking the rusted sword with a hammer three times, it had transformed from a worthless piece of junk into a sword worthy of a proper bid at an auction house.

Suddenly curiosity arose.

Could I make the money in the sheath new as well?

So I took out the money from the sheath and struck it three times with the hammer.

All the while, I strongly embraced the thought of wanting to fix this money.

“Oh, oh wow!”

Then, the tarnished silver coins turned into a glistening form, reflecting enough moonlight to act as a mirror.

I experimented with the other items in the sheath.

Striking the broken dagger with the hammer three times, it transformed into a new, intact dagger as if nothing had happened.

The rusted frying pan and iron pot also turned into new items after hitting them three times with the hammer.

With this ability, at the very least, I felt that I would never starve to death in this world.

Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind.

“Wouldn’t it be nice to open a repair shop near Glesius Academy?”

It was about Glesius Academy, the most important stage in the world of Erasto Chronicle.

In Erasto Chronicle, characters were called heroines, and they had to be nurtured in order for players to clear the story.

Therefore, Glesius Academy was a place where heroines could be nurtured and where the main story of Erasto Chronicle began.

In other words, if I were to open a repair shop near Glesius Academy, I could welcome the heroines I’d only encountered through illustrations as my customers.

There exists a possibility that I could see these heroines, who had only ever appeared in the game, with my own eyes and engage in various human relationships while conversing with them.

“Come to think of it, that doesn’t sound bad at all?”

Additionally, if I were to go to Gresius Academy, I might be able to meet my favorite heroine from the Erasto Chronicle.

The Erasto Chronicle featured a large number of characters, each with detailed backgrounds and stories, even for the lowest 2-star characters.

Therefore, each user had their own most cherished heroine.

Of course, the heroine favored for the story progression and the heroine cherished for their background setting or illustrations were separate matters.

Naturally, the heroine for the story and the heroine with appealing backgrounds and illustrations could be the same.

I also had my favorite heroine in the Erasto Chronicle; it was ‘Mina,’ a heroine with the background setting of a country-born academy student.

She was the first 3-star heroine given to players, and to non-paying players, she was nicknamed ‘Goddess Mina.’

That’s because Mina, being a 3-star heroine, could be easily utilized in the early stages of the story where the heroine’s development was lacking.

I myself was able to smoothly progress through the early and mid-story while playing as a non-paying player, thanks to Mina.

Thus, one of the pieces of advice most players would give to newbies was to ‘invest in Mina early on.’

‘I want to go to Gresius Academy and see Mina in person.’

My favorite heroine, Mina—I don’t know if she exists in this world.

Maybe she only exists in the game and not in the real world.

So, I will determine the existence of my favorite heroine with my own eyes.

Of course, to see Mina, I had to go to Gresius Academy.

‘What the hell. It’s just going. Let’s go! To Gresius Academy!’
