Ep. 1168 Tattoos Part 5
There are sure to be some embarrassing moments before she learns how to use it properly. It is much safer for me to avoid the entire situation altogether, so I go read my manga. Eventually, they call me back down to the workshop because the tattoo is finished.
Lin's back is now half covered by two beautiful, fiery wings, the details are exquisite. Every single feather is visible and the flames coating the wings almost look like they are moving. The tattoo is masterfully done and I make sure to compliment Bella on her work.
Then I turn my attention to the tattoo itself and begin enchanting it with the spell I prepared. I am already familiar with flight magic and I know very well how wings work. This has allowed me to make a far superior wing enchantment, at least I think so.
I won't know for sure until it is tested, but Lin will be doing that as soon as I am done. I doubt that I could stop her from testing the wings even if I wanted to. In fact, just as soon as I am done with the enchantment, she wants to try it.
So, we exit the castle, with Bella following, but we stop when we hear her gasp. Seeing the look on her face, I stop and try to think if I have told her about the castle yet. Considering her reaction, I am guessing that I forgot to mention it.
Bella says "What's going on? Where are we? I thought we were in a castle?"
"We were. That castle right there."
Bella says "Wait, we were inside a toy castle?!"
"It's not a toy. It is a full sized castle, but it can shrink so that it can be transported easily. This is our cabin on my ship. We are currently sailing back to the peninsula."
Bella says "What? Where on earth did you find something like that?!"
Lin says "Actually, Ash made it. He also made this ship. He is really good at making things. Especially things that don't exist in this world."
Bella says "Really? Ash, how did you learn to craft such things?"
"Games, anime, and manga. For the most part, I do the actual crafting using magic. It is easier that way. There was also a lot of experimenting involved."
Bella says "That sounds incredible. The experimenting sounds dangerous."
Lin says "It is, but he won't ever admit to it. He experiments constantly, any time he thinks he can get away with it."
"I can't help it, experimenting is fun. Besides, I learn valuable things when I experiment. Speaking of, are you going to test my latest experiment or not?"
Lin smirks at me and then walks out onto the balcony before activating the tattoo. The fire wings come out of her back, grow until they almost touch the ground, and then become solid. Lin stands there and moves the wings around, getting used to controlling them.
A few minutes later, once she is confident, she starts flapping the wings seriously. She soon lifts into the air and starts flying in circles, staying near the ship. As she gets used to flying, she becomes more daring and starts trying fancier moves.
Even when she flies out of sight, I can still track her location from her laughter. She is obviously having tons of fun and from the look on Bella's face, she is jealous. It looks like the first tattoo Lin is going to do is going to be Bella's wings.
Bella says "She looks like she is having a ton of fun!"
"Yeah, she does. Flying is really fun once you get the hang of it."
Bella says "Why do you sound so bitter when you say that?"
"When I first learned to fly it wasn't so fun. The place I was practicing had pillars."
Bella laughs and says "Ouch."
"Yeah. Pretty much."
Lin flies around for a good hour before she finally comes back and lands. She looks tired, but also invigorated at the same time and has a huge smile on her face. We return to the castle, but the kids are already asleep, so we quietly head to bed.
Surprisingly, Lin isn't too tired and she actually instigates a couple of rounds of fun. Then we go to sleep but after only an hour or so Jarvis wakes me up. It is time, so I have him stop the time dilation and I create the soulscape.
I invite Lin, Myria, and Bella first and introduce Myria and Bella to each other. Then, once Bella is used to the soulscape, I invite all of the kids and introduce them. Kechara, Asuna, Haku, and Ekard are happy to meet a new person, but then the bragging starts.
As soon as the other four show off their tattoos, jealousy kicks in and almost starts an argument. I quickly assure the kids that they will all be able to get the same tattoos when we get home. It takes a while to settle things down and get the kids back to playing together.
While I am dealing with the kids, Lin is filling Myria in on what has happened since the last soulscape. When Myria hears about the tattoos she quickly expresses her desire to have some as well. Bella says she will happily do them and Lin also promises, just in case Bella goes home.
With all that going on, I almost forget that I am supposed to talk to the elven spirits. Luckily, I remember once the kids are busy playing and the girls are chatting. I move a distance away from the others and invite the four spirits to the soulscape.
Lynara is the first to arrive, but shortly after comes Ekertan, Fereesh, and Slispera. Unfortunately, I barely have a chance to greet them before the kids notice them. The kids come running over and quickly drag the spirits off to play with them.
It looks like I am going to have to wait until the kids get tired before I can talk to the spirits. Luckily, since we are in the soulscape, not much time will be wasted waiting. Bella seems to be having a good time chatting with Lin and Myria, so I don't interrupt them.
Instead, I go join the kids in their game and do what I can to wear them out faster. With the spirits joining in, the game is much more complex than usual, but also more fun. The kids are all having a blast and their excitement helps to tire them out, eventually.
By then, the spirits are also looking a little ragged, but they recover after resting for a bit. While they are resting, I convince the kids to leave the soulscape and go back to sleeping. Once the kids are gone, the girls come over to sit down with me and the spirits.
Lynara says "As much fun as this has been, I'm guessing this isn't why you invited us?"
