chapter 43
43 – Justification
“Hwang Eui-tae, Jung In-hyuk, and the guy who fell from the ceiling is Kim Jang-han… They are all 1st Class exceptional individuals… Is it a mistake on our part, or is it their mistake?”
Their faces covered in blood, they barely managed to crawl and stood as if they were ready to fight, as if waiting for a battle.
Professor Gong Jin-soo struggled to figure out where to start and what to ask.
“Why is Hwang Eui-tae standing with such a torn leg like that, and why is he holding himself up like that?”
The 1st Class student Hwang Eui-tae that Professor Gong was looking at was in a state where he should be carried away immediately.
But for some reason, he seemed to be feeling something even greater than the pain, constantly glancing at Kang Ji-hoon while maintaining his posture.
“Now that the professor is here, shall we have a rational conversation?”
“Yeah… Yeah.”
“Right… Let’s talk… Let’s talk it out, please…”
Their appearance, stammering their words and appearing so frightened, was unfamiliar to Professor Gong Jin-soo.
The individuals in front of him were 1st Class students, especially those with a notorious reputation.
Being responsible for managing high-level hunters to prevent them from becoming Black Hunters was the academy’s duty, so these three were particularly closely monitored by all the professors.
Kids who had acquired uncontrollable power without proper mental growth and, unfortunately, had A-rank abilities, were, in essence, a group of delinquents.
They only showed up for tests that required mandatory attendance, and for the rest of the time, they roamed the academy as if it were a playground.
They often picked fights with other academy students, using it as an excuse to resort to violence.
To those who were not 1st class students, they would never yield, and for them, the fights were just a game.
Even within the academy, their misdeeds were so well-known that there were many voices demanding punishment, such as disciplinary action.
However, they were not only strong but also cunning and wicked.
No matter how trivial, they managed to create justifications for their actions and set up escape routes.
The reason their wrongdoing was even more heinous was right here.
Shifting responsibility for their mistakes to others.
The fact that the academy couldn’t easily touch 1st class students and that they managed to create even the smallest justifications for their actions.
These two factors allowed them to engage in outrageous mischief.
“Why did you punch me out of the blue just for asking if you were a 1st class student? Are you Black Hunters or something?”
***
Jihoon entered the 1st class training ground with joy when he heard the training sounds.
This academy made it extremely difficult to encounter 1st class students no matter where you looked.
In the dorms, training grounds, libraries…
It was as if there were no 1st class students at all; no matter how hard he searched, it was difficult to meet even one of the twelve.
But today, luckily, Jihoon had encountered three 1st class students.
Powerful strength, swift movements, immense magical power.
Just by watching them train, Jihoon was confident that they were 1st class.
Approaching them with a friendly greeting, Hwang Uitae was momentarily surprised, then exchanged glances with the other two.
Grins appeared on their faces.
For higher-ranked hunters, watching their training routines could be an uncomfortable experience.
The opportunity to release their pent-up frustration had finally come to them.
They had ample justification.
Now, only the fun remained.
Even when Jihoon successfully dodged Hwang Uitae’s sudden punch, they felt even greater joy.
They were confident it would become an entertaining plaything.
Dodging his punch meant having a certain level of skill, so they wouldn’t easily back down with just a few punches.
However, even if they hadn’t seen these faces among the 1st class 12, they naturally assumed they would be weaker than themselves.
A suitable target for a little torment.
Hwang Uitae, Jung Inhyuk, and Kim Janghan didn’t exchange any words, but their eye contact revealed they all shared the same thoughts.
“No, I didn’t come to fight… Ah, an official duel! I came to request an official duel, so why…”
Buzz…
Hwang Ui-tae’s entire body surged with magic, enveloped in a yellow light.
The energy surrounding him soon took the form of a thin armor that adhered closely to his body.
It looked as though he was clad in a golden armor.
“Trying to steal the training of a high-ranked hunter, are you so desperate to fall behind?” Hwang Ui-tae spoke, chuckling, and Ji-hoon replied.
“No, I didn’t intend to steal anything, if it’s a sensitive matter, I apologize… Anyway, today, I didn’t come to fight, but for an official—”
Hwang Ui-tae lunged at Ji-hoon with lightning speed.
Like a charging golden bull, his kick was about to reach Ji-hoon’s body.
Once again, Ji-hoon swiftly twisted his body to evade the attack.
“No, can we talk first? To ascend to Class 1, I have to surpass someone from Class 1. So, I need to have an official duel with the lowest-ranked friend—”
“hahahahaha, is this lunatic talking? What nonsense from a lunatic. If I keep hitting you, you won’t blabber nonsense anymore.”
It seemed Hwang Ui-tae thought no further conversation was necessary as he attempted another assault.
Whoosh…
Ji-hoon swiftly moved a few steps using his footwork, and where he had been standing was engulfed by a storm of magic.
It was an attack from Jung In-hyuk on the opposite side.
“Oh, this guy is really amusing.”
Only after dodging Jung In-hyuk’s attack did Ji-hoon finally grasp the situation.
His mouth curved up slightly.
“Ah-ha! Making excuses about being mad because I observed your training? It’s just an excuse, right? You guys simply don’t want to talk, do you?”
In his voice, subtly gaining an inexplicable excitement, the three should have felt a sense of unease.
Buzz…
Thud.
This time, Ji-hoon, donning the golden armor, didn’t evade Hwang Ui-tae’s incoming fist.
Gripping his fist in his right hand, Ji-hoon swiftly struck Hwang Ui-tae’s abdomen with the other, channeling his inner energy.
“Ugh… ugh…”
The shining golden armor shattered like glass as his fist struck Hwang Ui-tae’s abdomen.
“I also prefer communicating through actions rather than words!”
“Now… wait, what is this…”
“That was the last word.”
Jihoon smiled brightly and defeated three Class 1 Hunters effortlessly, kicking towards the wall as if it were a soccer ball, and destroyed his opponents’ faces so they couldn’t speak.
From that moment on, the three of them tried to initiate a conversation, begging Jihoon to talk.
But Jihoon pretended not to hear their words and continued to play games without paying attention.
He had learned that there was nothing better than reforming villains while facing numerous demons during his time at the martial arts school.

“Did he really throw a punch out of nowhere?”
At the professor’s question, the three of them turned into mute ducks.
They stole a glance at their own training appearance.
This was clearly a legitimate reason to use force.
However, they couldn’t argue that way.
Reason?
Reason was what they had given themselves.
They had given a reason to this crazy guy who appeared out of nowhere and didn’t even know where he came from.
“Oh? No answer? Professor, look at this. These guys hate conversations, right? Hey, guys, come here for a moment-“
“That’s right!”
“I really threw a punch out of nowhere!”
“Yes, it’s all true!!”
Seeing the three of them hastily admitting their mistakes, the professor’s expression twisted.
They were acting like scared children right now.
They were the infamous trio, Class A Hunters, known for their dirty personalities.
“Why? Why did you do that?”
“…”
The three of them soon turned into mute ducks again.
But in their eyes, Jihoon, who rolled up his sleeves, entered.
“Don’t you guys have good hearing? Why don’t you answer all at once?”
“W-Well! We just did it to torment him!”
“Yes! We just wanted to hit him!”
The words uttered by the frightened individuals were filled with wickedness.
“Sometimes there are these pure evils. I will teach them some manners from now on.”
Jihun politely speaks to Professor Gong and gives a sinister smile when he looks at the three of them.
As if bugs were crawling all over their bodies, the three of them shudder and tremble.
“Cr…Cough… Firstly, I am a second-class professor, so I don’t have the authority to intervene in the problems of first-class students. I will report this matter to the director.”
After Professor Gong finishes speaking, Jihun can’t contain his curiosity and asks the three of them with a curious expression.
“But where are the other first-class students? Why can’t I find them no matter how hard I look? Is there a separate place for the first-class students?”
“Well…the students from our class don’t usually come out of the academy…”
Hwang Eui Tae quickly answers, afraid that Jihun might threaten them again.
“They don’t usually come out? Where are they?”
“That’s just how the first-class is…”
“Hmm… is that normal? Isn’t something wrong?… Since I’m going to their class, I want to correct any mistakes…”
Jihun’s serious expression and his thoughtless words…
An inexplicable uneasiness curls around Professor Gong like violent waves.
