I Have Decided to Go Look for My Father

Chapter 255: He hoped the Meng Zixin would come and work for him. (2)

Lin Yize really wanted to target the Gu’s and to cause harm to herself and Gu Shao.

The problem is that you have yet to tell me what your nightmare was about……

Looking at Gu Xi, Gu Shao wasn’t sure what to make of what Gu Xi was saying.

Regardless, he still patted Gu Xi on her head and said seriously, “Don’t worry. I won’t let that happen.”

Gu Shao didn’t know that her words had greatly comforted Gu Xi.

Gu Xi instinctively leaned toward trusting Gu Shao instead of the plot of the story.

“Okay.” Gu Xi nodded docilely.

Gu Xi pulled her Gu Shao’s hand that was placed on her head and rubbed her face against it. The familiar feel of it took over all of her senses instantly.

Her eyes widened: That was it!

Toward the end of her dream, in the dark, Gu Xi could feel someone getting closer to her and put their hand on her cheek. No wonder the sensation felt so familiar, it felt exactly the same as when Gu Shao placed his hand on her cheek.

Gu Xi felt incredulous.

Why would Gu Shao appear in her dream?

She didn’t really want to try to recall the details but Gu Xi recounted the story plot once again along with the final scene, and a few things became more clear.

Obviously, what she had dreamed about at the end was the outcome that “Lin Xi” had brought upon herself in the extra, that she was …… till death by a gang of hooligans.

In the extras, it was said that “Lin Xi” had brought it upon herself and that her terrible end had nothing to do with the Lin family or Lin Yize.

Nevertheless, she could see clearly that the man from a distance was, undoubtedly, Lin Yize.

If her dream did not lie to her, then perhaps things weren’t as straightforward as they seemed. Perhaps that, too, was also a part of Lin Yize’s scheme.

Besides, why did she feel that Gu Shao was there at the very end?

Many questions went through her mind.

Gu Shao had no idea what was going through Gu Xi’s head. Seeing that Gu Xi was staring blankly head, Gu Shao was just about to pinch her on her cheek to bring her back when she suddenly looked up and looked at him seriously.

“Dad, will you come and save me if I am ever in danger?” asked Gu Xi.

“Yes.” There were no other answers for this question.

“What if you don’t know that I am your child?” asked Gu Xi again, her head cocked.

Upon hearing that, Gu Shao was taken aback a little for one second. If he didn’t know that she was his child, then he really wasn’t certain how he would decide.

That was the truthful answer in his mind.

Nevertheless, when he met Gu Xi’s nervous look, Gu Shao’s heart loosened up. He rubbed Gu Xi on her head, smiled, and said, “Yes. I will come and save you no matter where you are, whether or not I know that you are my child.”

As much as Gu Xi had an idea that he was only saying that to make her feel better, she still couldn't help but felt a warmth feeling growing in her heart.

Gu Xi stopped mulling over that question. She looked up and Gu Shao and smiled. “Then you need to keep in mind that you must come and save me whenever I am in danger.”

Gu Shao was just about to agree with her when Gu Xi shook her head again and said, “Well, unless you too, are in danger. Then you don’t have to come.”

Perhaps she should go and take some classes on Taekwondo or Karate, and maybe marathon too, just in case?

Gu Xi distracted herself and thought.

Gu Xi was very serious when she said that but Gu Shao didn’t pay her much attention. Because, as a father, his daughter’s safety was the most important thing at any given time.

“Are we good now?” Seeing that Gu Xi’s eyes were already rolling and her mind obviously somewhere else, Gu Shao figured that she had already recovered from her nightmare from earlier.

“Yes.”

“You are not frightened anymore?”

Gu Xi shook her head and smiled at Gu Shao again. “Not anymore.”

“Then go to bed,” said Gu Shao.

“Oh……” Gu Xi debated asking Gu Shao to stay longer but, soon as she pulled herself back from him, she finally noticed the tears and snots that she had gotten all over Gu Shao’s pajama.

Gu Xi’s cheeks turned red instantly.

“Is there something else?” asked Gu Shao.

“Mmm, no.” Gu Xi quickly retracted back under her blanket and said, “Night, Dad.”

Then she buried her head under the blanket.

Seeing that Gu Shao was about to leave, Gu Xi finally stuck her head out again. She couldn’t not pay attention to what she had done to his pajama.

That was embarrassing……

He wouldn’t hit her, would he?

Gu Xi had all kinds of wild thoughts in her head.

Luckily, even though Gu Shao had noticed that, it didn’t bother him.
