I Have the Sacred Sword?

Chapter 13 – Will

Invocations?

What did Isuke mean by that?

[Could you explain better...? I think I can do it, but I need more explanation], said Eleonora somewhat nervously, but the truth...

She had no idea what an invocation was!

[An invocation... is like when someone, with a bit of magic and a lot of willpower, calls something from the depths of nothingness. So... it's like if that someone taps you on the shoulder and says, 'Hey, I'm here to give you a hand,' do you understand?]

That makes no sense! If something like that existed, I would have used it a long time ago! Eleonora thought, but then she realized something.

She had never tried something like that before because...

She didn't know it.

Just like she didn't know that device that teleported those humans...

It was impossible for her to know about that invocation magic.

What if I try it...?

[Eleonora?]

[Yes?], Eleonora replied reflexively.

[Can you do it?], Isuke asked.

Can I do it...?

Eleonora could still remember the feeling of creating fire with her hands thanks to her energy. The same with water and wind, but...

Can I really create a being out of nothing... with my will?

Should I tell the truth?

Or should I continue with the lie...?

[Do all the sacred swords do that...?], Eleonora asked, her voice tinged with doubt, but she tried not to falter.

[Yes, can you do it?]

I don't know! Why have you become so insistent on this topic!?

Eleonora's breathing began to accelerate with nerves.

She had to make a quick decision.

[Yes, I can do it], Eleonora replied, but then she regretted it.

Why did I say that!? I should have thought about it a little more, but... why do I feel like his attitude is different? Is he upset?

Eleonora knew she had messed up, all because she couldn't keep her calm.

Focusing for a moment on her breathing, Eleonora wondered:

Willpower... I just had to have willpower, right?

Inhale...

Exhale...

Isuke's explanation was strange, but for some reason, it reminded her a bit of an explanation from one of her sisters, with whom she was able to enter that strange world where she practiced her skills.

'Yes! If you concentrate your energy while closing your eyes, instead of doing our typical and boring meditation, you have to focus, feel how that energy transforms into... something you like. Do you understand, sister? You have to try!'

Just by remembering those words, she couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

Did I really just have to put my will into it?

◇◆◇

"Yes... she can do it," Isuke said as he looked at Leo.

She can do it!? Leo shouted in surprise in his mind.

This had to be a lie.

The few ego-swords capable of such a thing were extremely rare, reaching the level of legend, so they had guardians who guarded them because of how dangerous they could be in the wrong hands.

Did this ego-sword really just get lost?

He couldn't believe it, but, on the other hand, Leo thought:

What kind of invocation would come to find them to guide them?

A fairy?

A little phoenix bird?

Or maybe it would be an earth invocation like a golem?

An angel might even come!

"Isuke... you're a lucky bastard," Leo said with a smile.

He never thought that because of a class accident he would encounter an ego-sword of that level.

Even if he dedicated his whole life to being a knight and serving royalty, getting to know an ego-sword like that...

He was excited.

"Why?" asked Isuke, confused.

"What do you mean 'why'!? Aren't you aware of everything one could do with an ego-sword like that? You'll easily get job offers in any country or continent you go to," Leo explained excitedly.

It was a unique opportunity.

"Just in case... are you really not interested in having her?" Leo asked quietly.

"I promised her I would help, but you know I prefer magic more. I think she would be a perfect sword for you," Isuke explained calmly, to which his friend, embracing him again, said:

"Isuke... thank you!"

After that, they both went to the tent to explain the situation to the girls.

“No!” Alexia said as she shook her head.

“Why?” Leo asked, exasperated.

“I already said, it's too dangerous,” explained Alexia, crossing her arms.

They were all sitting in the tent, and they had closed the entrance to prevent other people from coming in.

Leo couldn't understand how Alexia, who was very fond of adventure, would refuse to seek out such a sword.

“I know we'll be here for about a week, but exploring it can be very dangerous. We're not in explored territory, and we don't have people who can assist us if something serious happens to any of us,” argued Alexia.

Alexia... I understand you, but this is about a weapon that could change my life!

Leo shouted in his mind while he thought he maintained his composure on the outside, but everyone could see that he was getting agitated by how he swayed from side to side.

What should he do?

Leo hadn't told Alexia everything about the sword because of the girl next to her.

“What's your name?” Leo asked, looking at the girl.

“I'm Camila, nice to meet you...” the girl replied timidly, trying to stay behind Alexia without stepping on her tail.

“Really... Isuke, what did you tell her to make Leo react like this over a sword? Don't you realize it could be a trap from this... What was her name?” Alexia asked, trying to remember the name she had heard before.

“Eleonora,” Leo quickly responded.

The mention of Eleonora's name made Alexia pause for a moment, trying to remember where she had heard that name before.

Alexia was starting to suspect Leo's behavior. While in Camila's eyes, who barely knew him, Leo seemed restless, it was obvious to Alexia that he was hiding information.

Shaking her body before standing up, Alexia said:

“Please... tidy up the inside of the tent and make sure everything is secure outside so we don't have any problems sleeping tonight... Leo and I will go to where the professor is.”

Both Isuke and Camila nodded, but avoided looking at each other.

No! Why with him!? Couldn't you leave me with Leo!? What bad luck... Camila thought as she began to organize her things.

Isuke, on the other hand, started tidying up the inside of the tent while Leo and Alexia left.

Once they were far enough away, Alexia asked:

“Are you going to tell me the rest now?”
