I Just Want A Single Ending!

Chapter 138: I Just Want a Single Ending [138]

"You're a little wet from the rain—are you okay?"

Waiting for the elevator after entering the apartment building, Saku noticed the damp spots on Nagasaki Soyo's clothes and asked with concern.

"It's fine. I'll just change in a bit," Soyo replied with a light smile, folding her umbrella.

It was just a little rain. Hardly worth a fuss.

"True."

Saku realized he might have overreacted.

Stepping into the elevator, he pressed their floors and shifted the conversation. "Looking at how hard it's raining, there's no way I'm going out tonight. Could I trouble you to make a bit more for dinner?"

"Of course."

Soyo didn't mind his request at all.

"Great. Just like before, just let me know when it's ready."

"Will do."

With this simple exchange, they reached her floor, and the two parted ways.

Back in his apartment, Saku took a quick shower and changed into fresh clothes.

Despite using an umbrella, parts of him had still gotten wet.

While drying his hair, he checked the weather forecast.

Though he usually didn't worry much about the weather, a looming typhoon was worth keeping an eye on.

The forecast had some interesting news: today's heavy rain was merely the prelude.

Tomorrow, the typhoon would officially hit.

In other words, the big one was coming.

"Guess I'm stuck indoors all weekend," he sighed, setting his phone aside.

Though the typhoon would restrict his plans, the impact wasn't too significant.

At most, it meant two days of staying home.

Now, what to do over the weekend?

Saku began to consider his options.

---

Meanwhile, in her own apartment, Soyo had just finished her own shower and changed into comfortable clothes.

Instead of heading straight to the kitchen, she went to her room, retrieved a beautifully wrapped gift box from her bag, and set it on her vanity.

The gift had been from Wakaba Mutsumi.

She'd received others as well, but there were too many to carry home, so most had been left at school.

She didn't plan to open it immediately, deciding to save it for tomorrow.

After all, that felt more fitting.

"Achoo…"

Lost in thought, Soyo suddenly sneezed.

Is someone thinking about me? she wondered briefly before shrugging it off.

With a spring in her step, she headed down to the kitchen.

She'd already known about the typhoon forecast—Saku's reminder about an umbrella had been completely unnecessary.

It was, after all, a typhoon. Her phone had given her multiple alerts, and the school had reminded everyone.

But even so, his concern made her feel happy.

She really did like that feeling.

Knowing the typhoon would last the whole weekend, Soyo had stocked up on groceries the day before.

With the storm preventing outdoor plans, Saku would likely come to her place for all his meals.

So, she'd made sure to buy plenty.

The thought left her looking forward to the weekend even more.

---

After finishing dinner, Soyo sent Saku a message inviting him over to eat.

"Oh, should I prepare lunch for you tomorrow and Sunday, too?" she asked during the meal.

"Thank you, that'd be great."

Saku gladly accepted her offer.

With nothing else planned for the weekend, spending time with her and earning a few extra affection points seemed like a win-win.

"Alright," Soyo replied with a smile.

After dinner, she resumed her usual bass lessons with him.

"I saw on the weather report that the typhoon's supposed to hit tomorrow," Saku remarked during a break.

"Yes, which means staying indoors all weekend," Soyo said cheerfully.

Normally, she didn't go out much on weekends anyway, so the storm wouldn't affect her plans at all.

In fact, the thought of spending extra time with Saku, who'd have no choice but to stay indoors, made her quite happy.

They chatted leisurely, and before they knew it, it was quite late.

After he left, Soyo took a contented bath, preparing for bed.

She wasn't one for late nights.

---

After her bath, Soyo, now in her pajamas, sat on the edge of her bed, towel-drying her hair.

Once it felt sufficiently dry, she picked up her phone and began browsing movies online.

With the weekend keeping them both indoors, they'd have plenty of time together.

Now, what would be the perfect activity?

She dismissed any ideas that seemed overly strenuous; a cozy movie marathon seemed ideal.

Just picturing it—cuddled up with Saku, watching lighthearted films while a typhoon raged outside—felt so wonderfully peaceful.

While browsing for tomorrow's movie options, she received a message from her mother.

The message explained that due to an out-of-town business trip and the impending storm, her mom wouldn't be able to come home and was sorry to miss spending the weekend with her. She promised to make it up to her.

Soyo certainly didn't mind.

If not for her mom's hard work, she wouldn't have the life she had now.

After sending a quick reply to reassure her mom and remind her to stay safe, Soyo returned to her movie search.

After all, with Saku by her side tomorrow, she certainly wouldn't be lonely.

---

May 27th, Saturday Morning.

Ugh…

The alarm blared, and Soyo slowly opened her eyes.

Heavy… why does the blanket feel so heavy?

Even pulling it off felt like a challenge.

Was she just out of strength?

Struggling to sit up, Soyo's head spun, and her vision blurred.

Could I be… sick?

Though her mind felt strangely sluggish, Soyo managed to piece together the possibility.

Is my body that fragile?

It was just a bit of rain yesterday—surely that alone wouldn't make her sick?

Regardless, she resolved to get up.

After all, she had breakfast to prepare for Saku.
