ALL NOVEL Chapter 2- Water boy
"Senpai!"
"Ah!" My body jerked as I heard someone calling out for me.
It took me a moment to realize where I was and how I ended up here.
The slap, the accusation, the suspension, and Dad's scolding—everything came rushing down one after another.
It seems, while gazing at the stars I fell asleep in the park before someone came to wake me up.
"Aren't you the rude one who crashed into me and didn't even apologize...." While rubbing my eyes I looked at the hooded figure.
"I was in a rush....by the way, do you want to get arrested, Senpai? Isn't this place not good to sleep in?" He(?) asked which ushered me to look at the clock.
"Fuck! It's pretty late." I panicked and got up from the seat—only to feel a muscle in my lower back getting stretched a little more than it should have.
"Ou...." I crooked my back and pressed the spot which was sprained. It seems the fatigue of playing basketball the whole afternoon and all the hassle of the festival finally have started to show its effect.
"Can I help?" Even though the hoody guy asked, he didn't wait for my consent before he started to rub the spot with his soft and tiny hands.
"Ahh....feels great...." His hands were quite fluent and it seems he was experienced in massaging. The sore spot was getting gentle rubs and I could already feel the mobility returning to me.
However, more than my cramp, I was now more interested in something else,
"Ah!" The guy...or should I say, the girl yelped as I suddenly unhooded her.
Behind the heavy curtain awaited a small moon-like face with round Harry Potter glasses. Caramel shade eyes and short hair that reached her shoulders.
There was no doubt that 'he' is a 'she' and no other 'she' but the water boy who works for the basketball club
"Wao...you had a gender-bending surgery?" As I sat down on the bench I asked her.
The girl's face adopted a rosy red shade before she rebuked, "Stop making such absurd assumptions. I have always been a girl."
"Then why did you hide your beauty? Had some kind of fetish in mind?" I casually asked the girl, much for her chagrin, as she glared at me.
Okay, that was me being a little rude now.
I got up from the seat and suggested that we should walk and talk since it was already too late.
"So tell me, how did you find me? Or were you stalking me?"
"S-something like that..."
I was momentarily stunned to hear such a quick confession, and the way she stuttered showed that she wasn't even being sarcastic.
"I am...genuinely surprised." Silence befell between us. Although I have faced many confessions from different girls in the past this was the first time for someone to stalk me.
"Senpai...do I disgust you?"
"For now, I am more interested in knowing the reason behind your stalking," I answered her without much thinking. I didn't know how I felt about this stalking part given my emotions were a little sore at the moment.
The little girl looked towards the ground before uttering in a barely audible tone, "Senpai...the reason I became a water boy was because of you. Since there was no other post vacant for me to join as a girl, I changed my get-up and pretended to be a guy."
"Hmm? And the coach didn't suspect?"
"He is my uncle so I told him...and he approved."
I...was genuinely speechless now. Actually, how many relatives are there among the students of the school staff? First the vice principal and now even the coach.
Heaving a sigh, I decided to throw away the needless contemplation and asked the girl, "So...you like me and wanted to be near me, right?"
She paused, eyes widened, and directed a gaze of disbelief.
I chuckled seeing that reaction before telling her, "It's easy to discern from what you have told me until now."
She clenched her small fist near her chest and raised a query, "Then Senpai..."
"Wait a minute, water boy-san, don't you think it's unfair to seduce me when I am going through a heartbreak?"
The girl made an 'eh' sound like she didn't realize it until now.
But well, at least she didn't deny it.
We walked until we were out of the park. I wanted to ask where she lives so I could drop her off but when I turned toward her, I was spellbound for a moment.
Taking her hoodie off, she got rid of her glasses. Her caramel eyes seemed to have a special effect of making people dazed and those small pink lips looked nothing but adorable to gaze at. The sudden urge to touch her lips grew.
Her short brown hair was slightly damp, maybe because she was feeling hot in all that get up.
Turning towards me, she tilted her head innocently to find my gaze on her.
Without breaking my line of sight, "A different method of seduction?"
Her pretty face adopted a reddish hue as she shook her head vigorously, left to right, "No! I won't do that, Senpai! I was feeling a little sweaty so I..."
Her voice grew dim as she realized how she was just shouting.
She was like a cute puppy who, in a panic, could bite her owner only to realize her mistake and lick them to apologize.
"Senpai, why does it seem you are thinking something rude about me?"
"I wonder about that~" Shrugging, I causally replied.
The girl grumbled before we began to walk in a random direction.
"By the way, where is your house? I will drop you home-*tip*"
Suddenly, I blinked in surprise to feel the heavy droplet of water falling on my nose.
The girl also blinked in surprise as a droplet also fell on her head.
We both looked up at the same
time and God waved at us with the gift of heavy downpour.
