I reincarnated as a vampire, what’s the plan? Act II

Vampire vs Water Hydra – Part 1

Some of the details I can't remember... but that's essentially what happened before I woke up as a [Vampire] in this world.

I guess I'm a horrible person to you now...

But it was all justified.

They did a lot of horrible things to me and they had never been punished for it. I know how wrong it is to take the law into my own hands, but all I did was judge what they deserved for hurting me so much.

I only did what I thought was best for my personal survival. Am I wrong to have done that?

Put yourself in my shoes.

Three years full of senseless bullying in which I was beaten up countless times and even stabbed once for it. I seriously thought.

"What was the benefit of me leaving them alive?"

And after coming to my conclusion was that I took the audacity to murder my classmates.

Had I not done it that day, I would have certainly been more broken in my mental and psychological environment. I have never looked for anything like sympathy, not even close. I just wanted to live a quiet and carefree life.

But now I am in a fantasy world, and I must fight to gain my peace and quiet!

I'll do another check on my condition just in case...

What?

I'm not doing any kind of cheating or anything. This is the result of many days of killing an incredible amount of monsters.

Just because you haven't seen my stats doesn't make me a cheater, ok?

It's not like it can be very difficult anyway, it's just an underdeveloped lizard with several heads!

You have to apply a simple but unwavering strategy consisting of two simple steps:

1. Gradually consume his stats with [Vampirism].

2. When it's already stronger than that thing, kill it!

It's simple really!

It's a pretty cowardly approach for me, but the truth is that no one can complain, I've been given a mine that I can harvest as much as I want to! It's like a kid going into a sex shop and not buying an onah-le (LOL)!

I just have to figure out how to apply it perfectly...

Is there any way I can just hit and run?

I mean, despite its size, that thing must be faster than me and I'm sure it'll catch me in an instant as I try to run away with my tail between my legs. It's only in fantasy stories that something this ridiculous happens, and that's why I need something much more ridiculous to take on this thing.

But before that, I found something interesting.

[Water Wyrm - Level 25]

- - -

It's much smaller in proportion to the [Water Hydra], however, it has some things that might be good options to use...

And it's skills!

I grab one of these interesting little dragons out of the water and without thinking too much, I sink my teeth into it. I suck out all its blood in a jiffy.

- - -

[+350HP - +500MP - +700SP have been acquired by taking the blood of "Water Wyrm"].

[+5 points of "Attack", +4 of "Speed" have been acquired and the "Defence Break" has increased 0.01%].

[The skills "Frostbite Immunity Lvl. 5", "Swim Correction Lvl. 3", "Steel Fangs Lvl. 5", "Resistance to Intimidation Lvl. 1" and "Consume Core" have been successfully acquired]

[The skills "Frostbite Immunity Lvl. 5" and "Intimidation Resistance Lvl. 1" have been attached to "Status Change Resistance Lvl. 3"]

[The skill "Resistance to Status Change Lvl. 3" has been successfully raised to Lvl. 4]

[The skill "Consume Core" has been appended to "Vampirism Lvl. 6"]

- - -

Huh?

That... is new...

What the hell does it mean?

Miss [System], could you enlighten my ignorance?

- - -

[Consume Core: Skill possessed by those monsters that have consumed another monster's "Magic Stone". Brings random enhancements to any stat. Its benefit increases depending on how much magic concentration on the "Magic Stone" is consumed. Cannot level up]

- - -

[Magic Stone]?

That's a new term to me...

Ah!

You mean something in Danmachi that was like the monster's heart and appeared only until you killed it?

If I'm not mistaken, it's either that or an approximation.

Could I get to sell them maybe?

But... it's actually a useless skill for me. Since I can get base stats thanks to my [Vampirism] and things only get better as the skill keeps leveling up.

And apparently, the blood of this [Water Wyrm] attracted several more. They all have roughly the same stats, so I smile in excitement. I'll have a short feast.

After a while...

- - -

[+3,150 Vitality, +4,500 Intelligence and +6,300 Stamina have been acquired by drinking the blood of 90 "Water Wyrms"]

[The required amount of experience points has been reached. The player "Nameless Vampire" has successfully raised to Lvl. 50]

[Announcement!]

[The "Lesser Vampire" level limit has been reached and the player is able to shunt to one of her next evolutions. There are three options to choose from]

[Species Restriction: Once an evolutionary branch is taken, the player will not be able to reselect or change her decision under any circumstances].

[The options to choose from are as follows: "Necromancy", "Calamity" and "Madness"]

[Branch of Necromancy: Will allow the player to acquire the "Special Class" - "Necromancer". The "Undead" type monsters will obey the player's orders. And from the corpses of her victims, she will be able to get "Servants"]

[Branch of Calamity: Reduces luck to zero permanently. Double acquisition of "Impurity" points, but increases damage output based on "Impurity" points. Reduces status effects such as "Paralysis", "Jinx" and cancels "Misfortune". Guaranteed to bring misfortune wherever the player walks].

[Branch of Madness: Destroys the player's thinking ability and gives the ability to replace it with stats and skills with the ability to destroy her enemies]

- - -

Huh?

What's up with these options?

All three of them sound really cool... Wa, they're tugging at my heartstrings as an otaku! I feel my heart pounding at this tremendous opportunity! I want to have them all!

Haha, I'm kidding.

This thing wouldn't let me have them all, it's essentially stupid.

Although I would like them to take away option three, since my ability to think is the best weapon I have. My combat efficiency would probably increase, but I wouldn't be the same product if I thought about those fights.

It's better to have use of reason, and to be able to consider every factor rather than just go on a rampage to murder whatever gets in my way.

And assuming that the first option isn't good for me either... How about we go for the second?

I like that option. It sounds good. And I only sacrifice a few things in exchange for several benefits. It increases my damage percentage-wise, not statistically, so in exponential terms it's noticeably superior.

Fine, give me the second option!

- - -

[The "Branch of Calamity" has been chosen by the player. Will proceed to disconnect consciousness]

- - -

!

I felt as if I had suddenly been hit in the back of the head. My whole head jerked wildly. And consequently, I end up losing consciousness.

Shit...
