I suddenly became the villain and I liked it

Wrong choices

Why did I do that? I truly hate Sundays. Let me try and figure out why would I do that. It was a Sunday and I was not feeling like myself. Every Sunday, I feel lethargic and just do nothing for the whole day. Usually head maid or father would be there and they would spend some time with me.

“Mistress? Are you okay?”

Sylvia was waiting for me. Melanie already went to school early so we are here wasting time. We still had some time before class begins so I am just lounging around.

“Just thinking.”

“I understand, mistress.”

Sylvia and Melanie were also not there. It could also be that I subconsciously knew who she was. I know my place in the hierarchy in this world. Anyone in the royal family is above me. Which is why I am very careful around them. So that could also be a reason why I did what I did yesterday. Claire is not featured enough during my time in the game. She usually only appears once a month at most to visit her brother.

“Mistress, we must go.”

I stood up and we went to school. She was not a romantic option for either protagonist but she does support both. She is naïve and easy to trust due to her being spoiled by her family. She is widely loved within her family but she remains a secret until her debut later in the year. This is a factor. Luckily, she chose to hide her last name so I was not forced to divulge my own. Her brother has probably mentioned my name in passing but she does not know who I am.

“Mistress, please wait for a moment.”

We stopped for a bit before resuming our walk. But what do I do now? The princess has declared us to be friends and I accepted. I should prepare myself whenever we meet so that this will not happen again. I let my guard down due to her not being prominent in my time within the game. Other characters from future arcs may appear randomly. I must take care to not be blind sighted by any of them.

“Good morning, Miss Athena!”

As we were walking, Juliet ran up to us.

“Good morning, blue hair.”

“You’re still calling me that? You already know my name!”

“What I choose to call you is my business. I decide what I call you.”

“Fine. Then, what about your maid? What’s her name?”

Sylvia looks at me like she is asking for my opinion.

“If you wish to know her name, ask her and not me.”

“Oh, okay. I’ll do that next time! I gotta go!”

She ran towards the school.

“Mistress, are you sure you need to keep talking with her? She is very noisy.”

“It is fine, Sylvia. If she ever goes out of hand, we will deal with it.”

“Understood, mistress.”

We resumed our walk. While Claire does not know my last name, we can keep the façade of friendship up. Her knowing it will happen. I wonder what kind of expression she would make once she realizes it. That the person she thought of as a friend is evil, cruel, and despicable. What words would she say in her despair. Would she cry out to her brother as I look down upon them. The betrayal that she would feel as she finds out that her first friend was the villain. Ah, the possibility makes me excited.

“Mistress, there seems to be a commotion.”

We finally get to school only to see groups of students. We approach and see what it is all about. Lyn was climbing a tree. There seems to be something on top of it. It is probably those girls. Now their actions have escalated to stealing her stuff and putting it in random places.

“Is this your fault?”

I hear a voice from behind me. I turn around and it is the prince and his boyband.

“Does it matter?”

I smile at him and all of them flinch. My smile is truly powerful.

“Whatever you say.”

The prince walks past me and goes to help red hair earning even more resentment from the other nobles. Judging from his reaction, his sister did not share the details of our meeting. It was a good call of my past self to tell her to keep it a secret. It will be useful in the future. I can use her to find things out with the prince. Maybe she will tell me some secrets, in the name of friendship of course. Ah, how exciting.

“Let us go, Sylvia.”

Red hair notices me as I walk inside. I smile at her and she frowns at me. We both exchange a universal language known to all, the middle finger. As I arrive in the classroom, I see those five looking outside with grins on their faces. Proud of the acts they have committed on this day. Although they must also be quite annoyed that the prince is wasting his time helping a useless commoner.

“Good morning, Miss Athena.”

“Good morning, Melanie. Are there any news?”

“Not really. The only thing is the one you already saw at the entrance.”

“Ah, yes. How red hair turned to a monkey.”

Melanie laughed at my joke.

“Yeah. Seems like one of them arrived at school early to take something of hers and then they put it on top of the tree.”

“Do you know what it is?”

“Oh, it was a picture. I don’t know what is on it though.”

Ah, that picture. Out of all the items you had to get, it would be that one. If it is the same one, that picture is of her family before they died. Now that the prince knows of that picture, red hair would be inclined to share some details of her past. They have assisted red hair in becoming closer to the prince.

“I see. They reap what they sow.”

Melanie looked confused but I did not explain the meaning of my words.
