I Was Reincarnated as a Villainous Noble But I’ll Be Executed as a Traitor if I Do Good Deeds Chapter 1

1: Rex’s Path

This is the beginning of everything.

If things continue like this, I’ll die. I’ve reincarnated, and it’s only been a day, but I’ve already thought this twice.

It started when I woke up. I saw an unfamiliar ceiling, and when I looked around, I was in a completely unknown room. I responded to the knock on the door, and someone entered.

“Good morning, Rex-sama. Shall I help you change?”

“Ah, yes.”

A maid in a maid uniform, with pointed ears, spoke to me. She had a very elf-like aura. With her golden hair and blue eyes, she was exactly as I had imagined. However, her attire seemed a bit worn out.

I didn’t mind the maid’s appearance. The fact that an elf was present and I was in an unfamiliar room meant I had reincarnated into another world.

I pushed aside my thoughts, and she began to help me change. I was dressed in rather high-class attire, and I couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed.

“If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to call.”

The maid finished helping me change and left with a bow. I was relieved to finally be alone, as I wanted to sort out my situation.

I decided to confirm my current state. What was in this room, anyway? I looked around, trying to organize my thoughts.

“That person earlier, was an elf… right? Maybe it was just a costume?”

I found a mirror and took a look. There, I saw a handsome man with black hair and black eyes, a Western-style face, and a cold expression. He looked about 10 years old. His face seemed familiar, and I felt like I had seen him somewhere before.

“This face, it’s Rex… which means I’ve reincarnated into the world of ‘Destiny Blood’?”

“Destiny Blood”… it was a game I used to play. A medieval fantasy school setting where you fought and romanced. Rex, the villainous noble, was a memorable character. I remembered him well – Rex Daria Black. He was the one who pushed the protagonist to the edge, but ultimately met his demise.

The maid earlier didn’t know, but as a Black family elf, it made sense. The Black family had almost wiped out the elves in a certain incident, so it was only natural that they wouldn’t appear in the original story.

But I shouldn’t be thinking about the original story right now. The fact that I had reincarnated into a character who would die was what mattered. This realization sent a shiver down my spine. If things continued like this, I would die. Without a doubt.

“Ah no, this is bad. If I don’t do something, Rex, the villain, will die along with his family. Then, shouldn’t I just pile up good deeds and avoid opposing the protagonist?”

As I spoke, a glimmer of hope appeared. That’s right. If I didn’t oppose the protagonist, I could survive.

But my optimism was short-lived. After breakfast, lunch, and thinking about what good deeds to do, the maid returned to my room once again.

“Rex-sama, your father is calling for you.”

“I understand. I’ll go right away.”

I was led by the maid to where my father was waiting. There, my family was gathered.

“Good, you’ve come, Rex. We’ll be executing the traitor now. Enjoy yourself.”

“Rex-chan, wouldn’t you like to die for our sake if you’re going to betray us?”

“You’re really stupid. Why would you deliberately oppose the Black family?”

“That’s right. Betraying Father is punishable by death.”

“Brother, sit with us?”

“Brother, I’m the one who caught him.”

There were people with black hair and black eyes, and one person with golden hair and blue eyes. From the situation, I gathered that they were my father, mother, sister, brother, and younger siblings. Only my mother had golden hair, which I remembered from the original story.

Considering my sister’s face, she would enter the school in the original story in a year. But from now on, I had a two-year limit. My sister’s age was around the same as the age of the students in the school. It was impossible for her to have already graduated.

By the way, did Rex have an older brother? At the very least, he didn’t appear in the original “Destiny Blood” story.

But that’s not important. They mentioned executing a traitor, right? Indeed, there was a disheveled man in front of my family. Could it be…? As I sat down with my family, the man who seemed like a traitor began to tremble.

“W-wait. I’ll apologize. From now on, I’ll make amends with all my might…”

“Do you think I’d give a chance to a traitor? That’s foolish.”

With that, Father unleashed a flame magic, burning the man to death. I wanted to avert my gaze, but the family atmosphere wouldn’t allow it.

After confirming the man’s death, Father slowly left. That marked the beginning of the end.

“Lord Rex, your business is concluded. I’ll show you to your room.”

“Very well.”

I returned to my room, entered the toilet I had found, and suddenly, something I couldn’t suppress surged back up.

“Ugh, oh no… How can everyone be so calm when people are dying…?”

It was the first time I had seen someone die. The shock was overwhelming, like a delayed reaction. I should have been able to maintain a normal demeanor, but…

In other words, the Black family was indeed a gathering of evil people. They would do good deeds, but…

“No, wait. If I try to do good, I’ll end up like that guy, executed. Then, what should I…?”

The scene I hadn’t imagined until then suddenly felt real. I envisioned myself being burned to death like that man. The image wouldn’t leave my mind.

At the same time, I pictured myself being cut down by the protagonist’s finishing move. Both scenarios felt like they were revealing the truth, and my body trembled uncontrollably.

I realized I would die if I continued like this. The image of my impending death was etched vividly in my mind.

“If I do evil, I’ll be killed by the protagonist, Julio. If I do good, I’ll be killed by my family as a traitor. It’s a complete dead end…”

Even so, I didn’t want to die. So, I racked my brain, thinking of a way out. And then, an idea suddenly occurred to me.

“There might be one way out. If I fail, it’s over. But if I do nothing, I’ll die anyway. So, I might as well take the risk.”

I wouldn’t be killed by the protagonist if I didn’t do good. I wouldn’t be killed by my family if I didn’t do evil. Then, I had to find a way to balance both. That answer had to exist. It was the method I had thought of.

“I’ve decided. I’ll pretend to be evil while doing good. That’s my way to survive.”

From that day on, I began to put my plan into action. I had one to two years left. Although it seemed like a long time, it would pass quickly if I didn’t take it seriously. I had to hurry, but not too much.

The next day, the elf maid, Aria, came to visit, just like the day before. That marked the beginning of everything.

“Lord Rex, I’ll help you change into your attire today as well.”

The maid, who seemed to be treated carelessly, helped me change. I decided to put on an act, pretending to be evil while doing good.

“Hey, maid, what’s your name again? I don’t want my maid to look so sloppy. It would make me look poor too.”

“I’m Aria Tosca, my lord. I’m grateful for your mercy.”

Aria. I remembered. She tidied up her attire according to my words. I was grateful that she did as I said. Now, I just had to deceive my parents.

After a while, Aria returned, dressed up and smiling brightly. I was taken aback by her beauty. I didn’t know if elves were naturally beautiful, but she looked stunning in her maid uniform.

I spent the rest of the day normally, having dinner with my family. During that time, my father asked me a question.

“What’s going on, Rex? You’re making your maid dress up like that.”

“What’s wrong with that? If some dirty guy is by my side, it’s annoying. So, I might as well have them dress up properly.”

“Indeed. You’re at an age where you care about such things, Rex.”

“I don’t understand why you wouldn’t. It’s just that replacing Aria would be a hassle.”

My parents seemed to be convinced, and I thought I had succeeded.

After dinner, they left, and I felt a sense of accomplishment, having taken the first step.

“Yes, I’ve made it through. I can do this. First, I’ll survive. Then, we’ll talk.”

No matter what, I would survive. I had been reborn, so I wouldn’t waste this life. Since I could see hope, I would push forward.
