I Was Sold to My Mortal Enemy (Double Transmigrations)

Chapter 58 - I

Baili Qing’s eyes were seething with anger, if he could turn their gazes into knives, and the two people in from of him would be slashed to pieces.

Pei Xing, finding Baili Qing utterly intolerable, knocked him unconscious. They couldn’t find any other source of food except for the fast and robust horse that could traveled thousands of miles a day.

As Pei Xing started to skin and bone Baili Qing’s horse, he felt a deep sense of satisfaction. If not for this nuisance, he would have reached Shi Yi sooner. He reasoned that a horse, like this one, would only recognize its owner and hating others, keeping it wouldn’t serve any purpose.

Shi Yi, averting his eyes to avoid the grisly scene, headed into the house to look for some clean clothes. Although they were likely to be a little small for Pei Xing’s larger frame, it was better than staying in wet clothes.

.

When Shi Yi came back, he couldn’t find Pei Xing, and there was no dead horse in the yard. Just as he was about to go look for him, Pei Xing walked in, covered in blood, with several jars in his hands.

“Where were you? Get out of those wet clothes. There are some clean ones here.”

“I went out to deal with the horse. I also went to other people’s houses to find some jars of ingredients,” Pei Xing replied while glancing at the clothes Shi Yi had.

“I’ll finish my tasks first and change later.”

Shi Yi nodded and went to find the clothes he had taken off the previous day. After changing out of his soiled clothes, he returned to the main area.

Pei Xing had been busy stewing the horse meat and washing the blood off himself at the well. Stripping off his clothes, he washed them with well water and cleaned them thoroughly. Then, he entered the house.

Shi Yi, who had returned and witnessed Pei Xing’s nakedness, found himself blushing uncontrollably as he admired the sight of his well-defined muscles. “Why are you naked? What if someone sees you?”

“There’s no one here except you.” Pei Xing replied, embracing Shi Yi. He had been consumed with worry all day and night.

It was only then that Shi Yi realized Baili Qing was unconscious, and they were the only one’s present.

Pei Xing laid Shi Yi down and kissed him for a while before donning his clothes.

.

After spending the night there, they continued on their journey the next day. Pei Xing found a cart and harnessed around the village. Shi Yi sat on the cart, with Pei Xing leading the way on horseback.

Upon their arrival at Xiangshan Village after three days of travel, they were promptly surrounded by curious villagers with numerous questions. Pei Xing patiently explained everything, comforting the villagers and allowing them to return to their homes.

Aunt Hong couldn’t hold back her tears when she saw Shi Yi safe and sound. “Thank goodness, thank goodness, the young wife is safe.”

Shi Yi hugged Aunt Hong to console her and then embraced Xiao Liu, who was also on the verge of tears. “Third brother, I’ll learn martial arts, and I’ll protect you from now on.”

Shi Yi smiled and ruffled his head. “Okay, third brother will count on you to protect me.”

Once he had reassured everyone who had been concerned about him, Shi Yi began to think about another predicament, one that still needed to be addressed.

Father Song casted a cold, resentful glance at Baili Qing on the ground, grunting, “I’ll hitch the ox cart and transport him to the county government office, where Ning’er will send him locked up.”

Pei Xing halted him and whispered something into his ear. Father Song furrowed his brow, his face darkening suddenly as he said gruffly, “This isn’t a simple matter, it’s better to just kill him.”

Pei Xing was worried about the troublesome legal consequences, so he planned to write a letter in the evening and have it delivered to Xie Yu the following day, entrusting him with the matter.

The next day, before his letter was sent, Xie Yu, Song Ning, and Zhou Yan had returned to the village early in the morning after receiving the news. They breathed sighs of relief upon confirming that they were both safe.

“The third prince of Nanyi, Baili Qing. Second brother, you’ve made a great contribution this time. The Nanyi’s Crown Prince died in battle a few days ago, and this third prince is now the only one left.” Xie Yu gave an annoyed kick to the unconscious man on the ground. He had no sympathy for someone like him, and the Nanyi’s Crown Prince’s death had nothing to do with Baili Qing.

Shi Yi, upon hearing that Baili Qing was the last prince of Nanyi, eagerly chimed in, “If he dies, Nanyi won’t be a threat anymore, and Nanzhou won’t have to fight them.”

Xie Yu found his point of view reasonable. “I’ll discuss this with my father.”

“That’s what I said.” Shi Yi affirmed.

.

Xie Yu arranged for an escort to take the third prince of Nanyi back to Shangjing and discussed the matter with Pei Xing. He requested Pei Xing to bring some expert firearms makers to Xizhou and build another firearms warehouse there.

For once, Pei Xing decided to discuss this with Shi Yi. “We’ll go to Xizhou. That way, we can also see my brother.”

Shi Yi’s eyes sparkled with excitement, but he felt a pang of reluctance when he thought of Xiao Liu. “But if we leave, what will Xiao Liu do? Will he come with us?”

“Once we leave, your eldest brother and the others will come and take charge here,” Pei Xing reassured him. “Aunt Hong is here too, so don’t worry.”

Hearing that Shi Mo would be returning gave Shi Yi a sense of relief. He had more questions: “How long will we be gone? Should we bring the mobile phone and the other things?”

“We should take them with us,” Pei Xing replied. “We might be gone for a while.”
