chapter 19
19 – Elysia3
“What are all of you just standing there for? Not going to join the fight?”
I continued to look at the students who were still standing there motionless. They seemed unable to break free from my lies.
“hahahahaha, indeed, there are a lot of crazy people in the academy.”
The first among them to move was Kurane Isar.
With his huge stature and muddy skin, he charged towards Professor Elysia with hearty laughter. The spot where he had been standing was slightly indented, indicating the force of his charge.
It was a swift speed that didn’t match his massive build. His fist, carrying the weight and speed, extended towards Professor Elysia.
Thunk.
And then, Professor Elysia caught that fist with one hand. Her expression seemed endlessly relaxed compared to Kurane.
“Is this the extent of your strength?”
Contrary to the calm demeanor of Professor Elysia, Kurane was bewildered that his fist was caught so easily.
“What’s this?”
“Let’s test your resolve this time.”
As Professor Elysia swung the fist, Kurane, without any reaction, was sent flying, hitting the wall.
Bang!
Unlike earlier when I twisted my body before hitting the wall to reduce the damage, Kurane’s head slammed straight into the wall.
“Isn’t he dead from that?”
“Groan, a warrior of the great tribe doesn’t die so easily.”
While an ordinary person would have immediately fainted, Kurane quickly regained his composure and charged again.
The reason Kurane could get up and fight immediately after such a blow was due to the unique characteristics of the Isar tribe.
“Even if you have the will to fight, if you faint, you can’t fight.”
Professor Elysia swiftly moved behind the charging Kurane and, in an instant, struck his neck, rendering him unconscious. It was something you usually only saw in movies.
“Come to think of it, I didn’t mention the goal.”
The students, with eyes full of surprise, gazed at Professor Elysia, unaware of her formidable strength.
“I won’t use mana when fighting against you. Making me use mana is your goal until the end of the first semester.”
Not using mana was a significant handicap, yet no one refused the challenge.
Just now, when Kuran rushed at Professor Elysia, he enhanced his physical abilities with mana. However, Professor Elysia effortlessly caught his fist without using mana.
If Professor Elysia were to use mana, she could defeat all of us in less than a minute.
“Kuran seems to be unconscious, so I’ll tell him later.”
Taking advantage of the break while Kuran was fighting, I spoke to Professor Elysia and pulled threads of mana from the air.
“That won’t work, as you’ve seen before.”
Professor Elysia seemed to think I was trying to bind her with the threads again. But this time, it was different.
Swish.
Suddenly, a dagger flew from the air towards Professor Elysia.
More precisely, it was a trick I had set up so that the dagger would fly when I pulled the threads.
The dagger flew in a perfect square, but Professor Elysia, without looking at it, caught it with her hand.
Tap, tap, tap, tap!
“Wow, catching that is quite impressive.”
Applauding Professor Elysia’s remarkable feat, I said, “I knew it wouldn’t work, but I didn’t expect it to be blocked so easily.”
“Well then, shall we see if I can block this as well?”
With a tone that truly expressed curiosity, Professor Elysia sighed and said, “Hah… Loki, someone might think you’re testing me.”
“Ah, no way.”
“The reason I lied earlier about cutting time was to install daggers and thread.”
“Ding dong, correct! I’m sorry, but the prizes are not prepared separately.”
The reason I lied earlier was to set up various tricks in the classroom.
“If you were going to install them, wouldn’t it have been better to do it while others were attacking me?”
As Professor Elysia suggested, setting up tricks while others attacked was convenient and safe.
However, there was one problem with doing that.
“Wouldn’t it be suspicious if I did nothing at all?”
“That’s true.”
Professor Elysia chuckled coolly at my words.
“Well then, how about we see what traps I’ve set up while telling a few lies.”
“You can look forward to it. The stage equipment I’ve prepared is not just one or two things.”
I pulled the thread, and this time, a dagger flew from behind Professor Elysia.
She reached out to grab the dagger as before, but it disappeared when her hand touched it.
“hahahaha, that one’s fake!”
Then, a dagger flew towards the hand Elysia reached out. It was in a position physically impossible to grasp.
“Drat.”
Realizing that even Professor Elysia couldn’t catch it, she dodged, kicking off the ground.
“I see. An attack mixing reality and illusion with your unique magic. Quite creative.”
As Professor Elysia said, simultaneously with pulling the thread, I used illusion to create a dagger heading towards her.
She tried to grasp the dagger I had conjured in my fantasy, and as a result, she couldn’t catch the real dagger and had no choice but to evade.
“The first stage trick failed. Nevertheless, it’s okay! There are still plenty of stage tricks left.”
“An excellent attack method. But why didn’t you use it when fighting the golem?”
“Well, I do have a lot in stock, but do you know how expensive a dagger is?”
A somewhat usable dagger comes with a hefty price tag. And on the day of the entrance ceremony, I had almost no money.
“If I hadn’t received money from the professor last time, I would have had to steal a knife from the cafeteria and contemplate using it, considering how broke I was.”
“Sigh, fix that thinking if you don’t want to get more demerits.”
“Of course, there’s no need to think that way because I have money!”
Professor Elysia lightly stretched in place and spoke to me.
“Rocky.”
“Yes! Professor Elysia!”
“You have to pull the thread to make the dagger fly, right?”
“That’s correct!”
“What if someone charges at you without giving you the time to pull the thread?”
As Professor Elysia spoke, she walked towards me. If I tried to pull the thread, she would dash at a rapid pace.
And Professor Elysia approaching me was as I had anticipated.
Squeak.
Professor Elysia extended one step forward to come towards me, and as a result, her leg got caught in the thread installed on the ground.
“I have to pull the dagger, but it’s not the same for everything else, right?”
Bang!
The desk, boasting a size incomparable to a dagger, attacked Professor Elysia.
“Tsk.”
Professor Elysia clicked her tongue, briefly licked her lips, and struck her fist towards the desk, shattering it into pieces.
“If we get caught, the principal won’t be pleased.”
Concerned, I asked her in a hushed voice about what the principal would say.
“Is that an expensive one? I don’t have that kind of money.”
“Don’t worry. You don’t need to ask at all.”
“Well, that’s fortunate. I was worried it was already activated, but since I don’t have to ask, it’s fine.”
Squeak. Squeak. Squeak. Squeak.
While one desk had already flown towards Professor Elysia, other tricks connected to the desk began to move as well.
“I connected all the desks in the classroom with threads, but I don’t have the ability to pay for that.”
“All of them?”
“Yes! All of them.”
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
As soon as I finished speaking, all the desks in the classroom pounced on Professor Elysia. The place where she stood turned into chaos as dozens of desks covered her.
Among the students staring blankly at this spectacle, I approached Clara, a disciple of dark magic.
“Clara.”
“······ Yes?”
Clara spoke cautiously, eyeing me.
Why is she acting like that?
I didn’t think it was because of my handsome face being suddenly pushed.
Since that wasn’t important at the moment, I urgently said to Clara, “Cast a spell before the professor comes to his senses!”
“But there’s no response. Isn’t he already affected?”
In reality, even though Elysia Professor’s figure was not visible when covered by the desk, and there was no reaction, I knew very well that he couldn’t be knocked down by this level of attack.
“That’s unlikely.”
“Sigh… Okay, I get it for now.”
After Clara sighed briefly, she began chanting. As she did, a fire started to appear on the staff and began to grow at an incredibly fast pace.
“The incendiary ball.”
A meteor-like incendiary ball struck the spot where Elysia Professor was.
“It would be nice if this ended it.”
Thud!
As I finished speaking, one of the desks that was lying on top of Elysia Professor was propelled as if it had been hit by something, flying all the way to where I was.
“Eek!”
I moved my body to avoid the desk that was flying towards me. Elysia Professor walked towards me unharmed.
Seeing that, Clara, taking a step back, asked me, “What is the professor’s true identity?”
“I don’t know either.”
In fact, I knew what Elysia Professor’s true identity was.
The reason for her immense strength even without using mana.
The reason she emerged unscathed from that attack just now.
Professor Elysia is a dragon.
Her strength surpasses that of anyone in Croaker.
I spoke to Professor Elysia as she approached me.
“The one who attacked at the end was Clara.”
