chapter 28
28 – Dispute 2
“A mere commoner, probably scheming to make some money this time.”
Fortunately, it seemed they didn’t hear me laughing. From their conversation, it appeared they thought I was pretending to be hurt.
Suppressing the laughter that wanted to burst out, I looked at the men who bumped into my shoulder.
“If you bumped into someone, don’t stare blankly, apologize.”
Was their confidence due to thinking they could beat me, or did they believe their gang would protect them?
“Why bother if she’s not coming.”
I contemplated how to deal with them, but it became unnecessary. Clara, who had been walking in front of me, arrived.
“C-Clara?”
Though they were from the Arshen Kingdom and Clara was from the Empire, they recognized her instantly.
Well, Clara awakened her mana right after birth and was the only disciple of the Mana Tower’s master, so it was strange not to recognize her.
“I am Albfham Ricota, a composer from the Arshen Kingdom.”
“Similarly, Saz Baram, a composer from the Arshen Kingdom.”
Though they were taken aback by Clara’s presence, they quickly introduced themselves. As expected, they were from the Arshen Kingdom, just as I thought.
“Why are you standing here doing nothing?”
Clara completely ignored the introductions the men made. It was as if she couldn’t see them.
“While admiring Clara’s beauty, we accidentally bumped into these gentlemen.”
“Is that so?”
Only now did Clara look at the men who had collided with her and me. She seemed pleased to finally acknowledge them, but her expression changed upon hearing their explanation.
“What’s the matter? If you bumped into them, you should apologize.”
“Huh? Clara seems to have misunderstood something. We didn’t bump into them; he came and bumped into us.”
Clara looked at me without responding to the man’s question and said, “Did you bump into her?”
“I was just lost in thought and staring at Clara, I didn’t actually bump into her.”
“Is that so? Then it was you guys who bumped into her. Hurry up and apologize.”
Clara, who hadn’t even bothered to respond when the men spoke, accepted my words as they were. The men seemed to have something to say to Clara, but she cut them off, “I have to go quickly. So just apologize.”
As Clara spoke with a frown, they couldn’t say anything.
“Hey, what’s going on here?”
“Huh? Isn’t that Clara?”
Whether it was because of Clara or not, the students walking in the hallway stopped one by one, looking around to see what was happening.
It seemed the men realized that more attention was not going to be beneficial, so they apologized to me, “Sorry.”
The man’s expression while apologizing was sour.
“Everyone makes mistakes in life. Just don’t do it again next time.”
The expressions of the men after hearing my words worsened. I was ready to be satisfied with this, but Clara did not seem to be so.
“When you apologize, you should bow your head.”
“That’s right.”
The men seemed to detest bowing their heads to me, so they looked at Clara, then reluctantly apologized with lowered heads and quickly left with flushed faces.
“What are you doing? Not coming?”
Clara spoke to me absentmindedly. I regained my composure and called out to Clara seriously.
“Miss Clara.”
“What.”
“Could I call you ‘nuna’ from now on?”
After hearing my words, Clara glanced at me with disdain and walked to the classroom for the lesson.
“Let’s go together!”
.
.
.
Clara and I arrived at the classroom for the afternoon lesson.
In addition to us, there were several students from the special class already there. I briefly exchanged greetings with them and naturally took a seat next to Clara.
If someone else had sat next to Clara, she would have probably told them not to, but she confirmed that it was me and didn’t say anything.
The other students who were not from the special class briefly glanced at the special class students, including Clara, as if they were curious, but did not speak to them.
“Miss Clara.”
“· · · · · ·”
Clara ignored my calling from the side. She knew it was just a playful voice and that I was going to say something unimportant.
“Miss Clara.”
“· · · · · ·”
“Miss Clara.”
“· · · · · ·”
When Clara continued to ignore my words, I leaned in and whispered in her ear.
“Clara, noona.”
“You!”
Startled by hearing my voice, Clara attempted to respond, but she couldn’t.
“Good afternoon, everyone!”
The professor, who entered after opening the door, exclaimed loudly.
The incoming professor was a cute woman with a small build. If she weren’t famous, no one would have thought of her as a professor.
The youngest daughter of an imperial marquis, a rank S adventurer at a young age, and the youngest professor at the academy. Each of these three words represented her.
In Croaca, more famous for her eccentricities, Professor Hydra. She was greeting students at the lectern.
“Hello. I am Hydra, who will be teaching you from now on. Feel free to call me Professor Hydra!”
Students unfamiliar with Professor Hydra looked pleasantly surprised by her cute appearance, while those who knew her to some extent couldn’t believe she possessed such impressive credentials with that cute facade.
As someone well-acquainted with Professor Hydra through Croaca, I was prepared.
“Oh? Loki, who ignored me and stuck to the director, is here too.”
“Professor Hydra, if you put it that way, it makes me sad! The money Elisia gave me was too much to refuse.”
“Well, the director’s connections are vast.”
Professor Hydra seemed indifferent to any hidden motives.
“Now, shall we start the class right away?”
While placing something on the lectern, Professor Hydra spoke.
“How much do you all know about magical artifacts?”
Professor Edra explained about Mado-gu. Mado-gu refers to tools made artificially by humans, unlike artifacts that can only be obtained in dungeons.
Unlike artifacts that can only be obtained in dungeons, Mado-gu can be created by humans.
“The item I have placed on the podium is also a Mado-gu that I created.”
Professor Edra had tremendous talent in making Mado-gu. The berserk golem at the entrance ceremony was also one of the Mado-gu created by Professor Edra.
“Among Mado-gu and artifacts, there are items that enhance magic. Today, you will experience that magic firsthand.”
After saying that, she looked around at the students. I tried my best not to make eye contact, but my handsome face couldn’t go unnoticed.
“First, it would be nice if it’s Rocky. There’s no need to worry about the aftermath of getting paid off by the leader.”
She activated the magic, and I felt a splitting headache.
.
.
.
Edra looked down at Rocky, who seemed to be in agony, screaming.
Originally, everyone was supposed to be informed in advance about what magic would be used.
However, before the class, Elysia gave an order to Edra.
“Impose a strong ordeal on the special class students, especially on Rocky, to make him even stronger.”
As time passed, Rocky let out a terrible scream, and as Edra looked at him with pitiful eyes, her eyes turned cold.
“You made the right decision to become an academy professor.”
Edra muttered to herself so quietly that no one else could hear, observing the reactions of the other students.
“hahahahaha, look at that. The academy student is just screaming helplessly and doing nothing.”
“hahahahaha.”
When Loki, unable to do anything and in anguish, Arshen Kingdom students took the opportunity to curse Loki. Other Arshen Kingdom students heard those words and, mocking Loki, joined in the verbal attack.
Although Hydra found the scene disgusting, thinking about the future that would unfold shortly, she laughed and said, “The magic I used is a spell that gives the other person a headache. It’s not a powerful spell on its own, but when used with a magical tool, it becomes threatening.”
After explaining the magic, Hydra used the same spell on all the students.
“aaargh!”
Ordinary students screamed and writhed as the magic took effect.
Special class students protected themselves in their own ways. Hydra only focused on staring at Loki.
Clara protected herself with mana, but she frowned while occasionally looking down.
After a while, Hydra stopped using the magic.
When the magic ceased, the students all took a deep breath and rested. However, Loki continued to suffer and scream.
“What’s he doing, huhuhaaha!”
Even after the magic stopped, the students laughed at Loki’s misery.
Hydra approached Loki’s desk and knocked on it as if knocking on a door.
“Loki, it’s over. You can come out now.”
As Hydra spoke, Loki, who had been suffering, disappeared as if in an illusion.
While the students who had mocked Loki were staring blankly at it.
“Huhhaaam~ Is it over now?”
Loki emerged from under the desk, stretching.
