I’m Just an Ordinary Clown at the Academy

chapter 6

6 – Entrance Ceremony 4

The first among us to attack the golem was Lucas.

“I’ll go first.”

Lucas first fortified his body using mana. The high-purity mana accumulated through numerous potions further strengthened his already robust body, allowing him to lower himself and prepare to dart forward at any moment.

“Ahhhhh!”

With a resounding shout, they drove into the ground with lightning speed, rushing towards the golem. The speed was so fast that even I struggled to keep up. With the same speed, Lucas’s spear struck the golem before it could swing its crudely large arm, impaling it.

The golem’s left leg, pierced by the spear, crumbled pathetically. Losing one leg, the golem staggered, its balance disrupted. The students who witnessed this scene buzzed with excitement, sharing their thoughts.

“He took down that huge golem in one go!”

“Is that golem weaker than we thought?”

“If it were you, you wouldn’t have even grazed it, right?”

“Yeah, that’s Prince Hwang’s remarkable feat.”

The students who had thought the golem was finished were already making noise, but Lucas, sensing the danger, quickly distanced himself from the golem. And it was that decision that saved him.

If the golem had been defeated so easily, it wouldn’t have been called a “defeat event,” and I wouldn’t have attempted the challenge over a hundred times.

Kwaaang!

With an enormous sound, the huge golem’s fist landed where Lucas had just been. The ground was deeply dented, as if hit by a meteor. The leg of the golem that Lucas had clearly pierced was back to its original state.

If Lucas hadn’t distanced himself, it wouldn’t have been the ground that was dented, but Lucas himself. Witnessing this shocking and crude spectacle, the students raised their voices.

“What’s that…?”

“There’s another one of those golems?”

“We, as students, have no way to handle something like that!”

These are the two biggest characteristics of that golem.

Insane destructive power, and a body that infinitely regenerates unless its core is destroyed.

The person who created this insane golem is Professor Hydra.

That insane professor is probably chuckling right now as they watch the bewildered students.

I spoke to Clara, who was calmly observing the golem beside me.

“Wow~ That golem is impressive, isn’t it? Clara, you still haven’t said anything about my order, have you?”

Whether I spoke or not, Clara began to silently chant. Just give me a response.

As Clara chanted, mana gathered around her. She must have used a lot of mana to control the demon just now, but she continued the chant without concern for the remaining mana.

In reality, her mana hadn’t run out much so far. The reason for this was her ability, [Infinite Mana].

Not truly infinite, but a trait that grants her a quantity of mana close to infinity. Clara’s unique ability was famous even in Croaka for being a scam.

Due to this outstanding trait, a top-tier sorcerer, known for never taking disciples, proposed to Clara first.

At the end of her chant, a massive fiery sphere blazed beside her staff.

“Fireball.”

“Clara? How is that a mere ‘ball’? It’s more like a Meteor.”

If the size of a fireball created by an ordinary wizard is about the size of a human’s head, Clara’s fireball resembled a meteor.

Seemingly annoyed by my continuous muttering, Clara turned the staff with the Meteor toward me.

“Eek! You’re not going to throw that at me, right? Unlike the golem, I’ll definitely die if it hits me. There’s still so much I haven’t tried, and I can’t afford to die in such a ridiculous way!”

“Do you see both of them over there?”

Lucas was currently avoiding the golem’s arms while attacking with his spear. However, avoiding the golem’s arms while attacking meant the destructive power wasn’t as strong as before, and the damage inflicted was ineffective as the golem regenerated instantly.

“Tsk.”

“Ouch! Did I just hear a tongue-click? Could it be you were planning to shoot at me if the golem wasn’t there?”

Ignoring my words, Clara nonchalantly sent the fireball, resembling a Meteor, towards the golem. Lucas tactfully moved aside, and the flying fireball struck the golem.

Boom!

The fireball hitting the golem caused a tremendous explosion. Due to the smoke from the explosion, visibility was lost, and everyone waited for the smoke to clear.

Soon, the smoke dissipated, revealing the golem with about half of its torso blown off. What was crucial now, with half of its torso gone, was the blue gem visible inside the golem’s body. That was the golem’s core. If you break that, the golem disappears.

“Mr. Lucas! I’m targeting the blue orb! If we destroy it, the golem will disappear.”

“I’m curious how you know that, but I get it for now.”

Before the golem’s body could regenerate, Lucas swiftly dashed towards its core.

This is how I captured the golem in Croaker.

While Lucas diverted the golem’s attention, my colleague launched a major attack, revealing the core and swiftly striking it. When I used this method, Clara was the colleague who took on the major attack.

As Lucas attempted to strike the core, another golem that had been still until now began to move. This was beyond my expectations. I thought that, like the others, this golem would only move if it had been attacked first.

“Mr. Lucas, watch out!”

Suddenly, as the other golem launched its attack, Lucas couldn’t evade it. He managed to block it with his spear, but the golem’s attack was so strong that it sent him flying all the way to where I was.

Ignoring his own injuries, Lucas gazed at the golem.

“Darn it! Has it already regenerated in that time?”

Even in a situation tense enough to be divided, Clara, true to her sorceress nature, calmly analyzed the situation.

“Even if we manage to reveal the core of one golem, it’s a hassle when the other one is guarding it.”

As I pondered what to do, a brilliant idea popped into my head.

Hmm, can this really work?

“Mr. Lucas, Ms. Clara, I’ve come up with a good plan.”

When I spoke up, both Lucas and Clara looked at me with skepticism and curiosity.

“hehehe, the current problem is that another golem will be guarding while the golem regenerates, right?”

“That’s right.”

“······.”

Lucas echoed my words, and Clara remained silent. I stared pointedly at the silent Clara. If she doesn’t respond, then I won’t speak either.

“Haa… That’s the problem. So, what’s the solution?”

“Hoho, if the problem is regeneration, then we just need to eliminate both golems without leaving a single nucleus!”

As I spoke, like Columbus discovering the New World, Lucas and Clara looked at me with a bewildered expression, as if to say, “Why are we going through all this trouble?”

“Roki, you wouldn’t actually make such an attack, would you?” Lucas asked cautiously. Nah, not a chance.

“No! I won’t!”

I wouldn’t have such a good thing. All I have is a handsome face.

“But if both of you attack at the same time, wouldn’t that work?”

I might not be able to, but it’s different for the two here. I may not have such destructive power in my attacks, but they do. It takes time to attack, but they have it.

Listening to me, the two lost in thought said that to do as I suggested, two conditions were necessary.

The first was that while preparing the attack, they needed to prevent the golems from attacking them, and the second was that when they launch the attack, the two golems should be in the same place.

“Hoho, with those two conditions, I can handle it.”

“At least 10 minutes, can you keep two golems at bay for 10 minutes?”

“Don’t worry about the golems, just focus on preparing the attack. The golems won’t come near you.”

As soon as the confident words left my mouth, the two began to gather their strength.

Clara immediately began her incantation. Unlike before, the language of her incantation was not something humans could understand, like a sound as if it had gathered the cries of all humans. Just listening to the incantation made my whole body shiver.

A golden aura emanated from Lucas’s body, enveloping him. The golden aura was so sacred and noble that I couldn’t help but want to pledge allegiance.

The two closed their eyes and concentrated as if they didn’t care about the golems. The belief that the golems wouldn’t come to them was so overwhelming yet blissful.

I’m standing on the same stage as them. People who only saw me through a monitor are trusting me.

“If you bear the risk, it’s only right for me to bear the risk as well.”

I used my unique skill, Illusion. Unlike when I played with the little kid earlier, this time what I created wasn’t a dog or a cat.

In my mind, I conjured up the image of the subject I wanted to create. Even Johann, who had a good sense, was convinced that this was absolutely not fake. Well, this was the most frequent illusion I had created.

So, the illusion I created appeared in the auditorium, and the students were astonished.

“Is that even possible?”

“I’ve never seen or heard of such magic.”

“Was it magic in the first place?”

“There are 10 of them?”

The illusion I created was myself.

In the academy auditorium, there were 10 of me.

“Shall we show off in a grand way?”

The 10 of me rushed toward the golem.
