I'm Really Not a Pokémon

Chapter 5: When the Moon Smiles More Happily

In front of a simple, yet elegant restaurant, Rope looked at Professor Rowan, who was waiting inside, and felt a sense of being in a cocoon for a moment.

He has never liked to trouble others. Naturally, he didn't like interacting with others. Whether they wanted to get to know him or he wanted to get to know them, he was always a little uncomfortable.

In the end, he's just afraid of strangers.

Rope couldn't help but scratch his head, looking at a loss for words. Professor Oak shook his head helplessly when he saw this bad look, and then took his arm and went that way.

How embarrassing... Rope hurriedly pulled his arm back, then straightened his lab coat, made a gesture of surrendering with his hands up, silently and then took the initiative to go that way.

Professor Oak gave his back a blank stare and followed him.

The interaction between the two was watched by the three on the other side of the room, Professor Carolina whispered to Professor Rowan: "Oak and him are very close."

Professor Rowan looked at the two of them and nodded: "An excellent disciple, and has been together for a long time. It's not too much to say it's family."

Carolina nodded and stopped talking, looked at her granddaughter beside her and then across the room at Rope and nodded.

Cynthia sensed her grandmother looking at her and shifted her eyes back from Rope and Professor Oak. Cynthia looked at her grandmother and asked, "Grandma, what's wrong?"

Professor Carolina smiled and shook her head, then didn't make a sound. Cynthia looked at Professor Rowan again in confusion, and Professor Rowan, as if he understood what was going on, smiled the same way and didn't make a sound to answer Cynthia's confusion.

Cynthia didn't know what was happening, but she suddenly felt that the atmosphere was a little bit wrong. At that moment, Professor Oak and Rope were already approaching.

"Yo, Professor Rowan, Professor Carolina, it's been a long time, and Cynthia, we haven't seen each other for a long time, I remember the last time I saw you, you were still a little girl, but you've grown up so big."

Professor Oak extremely skillful opening pleasantries, although the three are old friends, but years of not seeing the pleasantries are always unavoidable. As for Cynthia, the number of times we saw each other as children was not bad, but when we grew up, we basically did not see each other. After all, Champion is busy, just look at Lance.

Rope didn't know what Professor Oak had in mind at the time, or he would have asked, 'Is the Champion you're talking about Steven Stone, the one who doesn't care about digging up rocks all day long? Or Diantha, who's too busy filming to deal with Alliance business, or Mr. Alder, who's too busy flirting with Officer Jenny?'

Come on, how can the Elite Four train when the champions are in charge?

Lance is in charge of so much more than just his own sense of duty because it's hard to beat Lorelei. He can't command...

Of course, you can't beat the champions to death. Leon's a hard worker, anyway. That's a cape's worth of endorsements!

Rope at this time did not think so much, he is generous towards the opposite side of the three people greeted: "Professor Rowan, hello again, these two are Professor Carolina and Cynthia Champion it. My name is Rope, I'm a researcher, nice to meet you."

Doesn't sound sociopathic, does it? With that one sentence, he's been preparing since he got Professor Rowan's message, one day after... the Research Summit was over, and that's all he had to say, and the rest of the day he was just going to ask questions, answer questions, and nod and smile.

The 'Meet the Elders' program at Social Phobia is so simple... and awkward.

And the Summit isn't over yet.

He also had a headache when he thought of the tour organized by the organizers tomorrow... What's the point of traveling to Mount Coronet when you have nothing to do? It's just a waste of time. Of course, it's customary. He can't fight it. Luckily, he told Professor Oak that he wouldn't be going tomorrow, and Professor Oak reluctantly agreed. After all, if Rope didn't go, there'd be no record of his spontaneous Senryū. But Rope's reason was justified, he had to find the remains of Dialga and Palkia to investigate, he didn't want to waste time.

Professor Oak knew that he didn't want to be with these people who didn't know him well, after all, he had made a big splash today, and tomorrow there would be a lot of people chasing after him to get to know each other, as a kind of familiar face.

To be fair, if Professor Rowan's invitation hadn't given them a legitimate reason to turn down other people's invitations tonight, I'm afraid Rope would have had to deal with a lot more than just a couple of strangers at this point.

In that way, Rope was grateful to Professor Rowan.

"Hello, Rope, your speech today was very subversive, and it kind of bridged the gap in our research on the Legendary Pokémon, after all, most of us old guys have never seen a living Legendary Pokémon, and you're really good."

Professor Carolina said so, and then did not move to pass a wink to Professor Oak. Professor Oak gladly understood, nodded positively, and then when Professor Carolina was not paying attention, gave a thumbs up to Professor Rowan, and Professor Rowan gave a proud smile.

The longest road Rope has ever traveled is the Professor Oak and Professor Rowan set. Of course, on the road with him was Professor Carolina...

Ding~You have received a compliment from Professor Carolina, a Legendary NPC, Professor Carolina's favorability +1.

Rope in his own head with system instructions, after all, in the previous life of the traveler in the text ten crossers, nine and a half with the system, Rope has always felt that he is a traveler in the very no hidden card the group, or even the most no card face of the one.

After all, everyone else starts out as a cute girl, but he starts out as a snake, and then he's a big man... It's a real no-brainer.

Rope smiled and said, "You're too kind, I'm just lucky."

Carolina smiled and nodded, this young man is talented and handsome, and to be able to deal with such legendary Pokémon as Mew and Darkrai, I'm afraid that his own trainer's strength is not very low. And my granddaughter... It's a good match.

Rope was thinking about his lack of a system and his lack of a cute girl, but he didn't realize that his elders were busy arranging a blind date...

In all honesty, Rope is only 21 and Cynthia is in her late twenties, not old enough to get married, at least in their own minds.

Cynthia glanced at her grandmother's expression and felt bad. Her instincts were good, and she had a pretty good idea what Grandma was up to these days. But for the sake of appearances, she had no choice but to say hello and sit down for dinner.

The feeling of being in a cocoon rose in her heart. She cursed herself for her carelessness and prayed for a quick phone call so that she could find a chance to slip away.

Unfortunately, the phone was as silent as a mute...

It's always ringing when I'm working.

Lucian and Aaron, who were in the middle of a mountain of work, sneezed in unison, looked at each other, and picked up their own ringing phones in silence.

It never stopped...

"It's okay, Aaron, it's Flint and Bertha who'll suffer tomorrow."

"I'm fine, Lucian, could you take half of my papers and I'll buy you dinner!"

Lucian: "I'll buy you dinner, two meals, and you'll help me with half the files."

Aaron: "Three..."

Lucian: "I'll give you four..."

Aaron: "..."

Lucian: "..."

"Missy Cynthia! Why did you take a vacation !!!!" ×2

Obviously, Cynthia's idea couldn't be realized, after all, the Elite Four who couldn't beat her didn't dare to disturb her vacation...

"I'm Cynthia, and your speech was really interesting. I've never met a legendary Pokémon face-to-face before."

Cynthia held out her hand. Rope also shook her slender white hand and said, "It's not really a big deal, they're still very nice to get along with."

At the same time when the two of them shook hands, the three old people around them coincidentally revealed a pleased smile.

And Cynthia and Rope both shouted in their hearts at the same time.

"Somebody get me outta here..."

Sometimes, fateful encounters aren't necessarily fate.

It could also be a set-up...

Anyway, the moon was a little fuller than yesterday, as if it had gone from a smile to a laugh, and was clearly happier.
