Chapter 1328: Management and Division of Labor
Under Yuga's guidance, the Aggron clan, the Noctowl clan, and the assistant Pokémon moved into the freshly constructed Island Ecopark.
The Aggron clan settled in the Mountain Range Zone, where numerous caves provided them with perfect homes.
Gazing at their superior new environment, the members of the Aggron clan were dazzled. This would now be their home—a place protected from wind and rain, and simply marvelous.
If, in the past, they had submitted to Yuga out of respect for his power, they now wholeheartedly revered him. After all, their struggles in the outside world had been to secure a better life.
Now, with food and shelter guaranteed and such an exceptional place to live, they had no reason not to follow Yuga!
The Noctowls and Hoothoots were assigned to the Grassland Zone, where the towering climate trees provided ideal nesting locations. This area was conveniently close to the Lake Zone, making water access easy.
As for the assistant Pokémon, Yuga arranged for them to reside in the main control room. It housed numerous rooms, more than sufficient to accommodate all 30 Pokémon.
In the future, these assistant Pokémon would serve as the administrators of the entire Island Ecopark. Living there would allow them to monitor the Ecopark and its surroundings effectively.
These Pokémon, having graduated from the Joy family's training institutions, were incredibly skilled at operating the various medical instruments in the control room. Some devices that even Yuga couldn't identify were handled with ease by these assistants.
Once everyone's accommodations were settled, Yuga began assigning tasks to the Aggron and Noctowl clans.
The adult Aggron clan members wouldn't be allowed to idle in the Ecopark all day. Daily patrol teams were established to ensure the safety of the Ecopark's surrounding areas. Each team would be led by one of the four Elite level Aggron members.
This island had a complex ecosystem teeming with ferocious Pokémon, making it far from safe. There was always the possibility of an invasion, so vigilance was essential.
At the same time, the island was also a treasure trove of valuable Pokémon resources.
The Ho-Oh skeleton had nourished this island for countless years, giving rise to numerous high potential Pokémon. Yuga planned to discover them gradually in the future.
As for the Master level Aggron's elder brother and the Champion level Aggron, their primary role was to serve as deterrents. They didn't need to make frequent appearances.
In truth, the Champion level Aggron was already advancing in age, nearing its senior years. Its combat abilities couldn't compare to those of younger Champion level Pokémon, similar to Archeops in Yuga's Shallow Sea Beach Sub-Ecopark.
Of course, while this was true, the Aggron was still more than capable of maintaining order in its usual role. It was merely approaching old age—not quite there yet.
The Noctowls and Hoothoots also had to organize regular patrols. While the Aggrons were responsible for the safety of the immediate surroundings of the Island Ecopark, the Noctowls and Hoothoots were tasked with flying further afield to monitor the overall situation of the island.
Should any significant incidents occur on the island, they could quickly report them to Yuga.
However, the strength of the Noctowls and Hoothoots was somewhat lacking. Yuga decided to call in the Chatot's family to lead them.
Once everything was set in place, Yuga noticed that the Arcanine family hadn't yet returned. Thus, he took Dou Dou and went back home to Verdanturf Town through the Light Gate.
Now that the Island Ecopark was completed, the Light Gate had been relocated to the Ecopark, positioned within the Lake Zone.
From the Light Gate in the Main Ecopark, Yuga entered the Grassland Sub-Ecopark. At that moment, the Noctowls and their offspring were at home.
"Where's Chatot?" Yuga asked.
The young Noctowl replied, "Dad's out!"
Knowing Chatot's habits, Yuga figured it couldn't sit still at home. He said to the young Noctowl, "Could you go find your dad for me? I have something to discuss with him."
"Sure!" The young Noctowl happily flapped its wings and flew off in an instant.
While the young Noctowl went to search for Chatot, Yuga explained the details of the Island Ecopark to the Noctowl. As the head of the family, Noctowl had the final say—Chatot's opinion didn't matter much.
Learning that Yuga wanted the family to establish themselves in a new area, Noctowl agreed without hesitation. It was about time for Chatot to settle down. Having an Elite level Pokémon lounging around aimlessly all day simply wasn't appropriate.
Previously, Verdanturf Town had organized work for stray Flying-type Pokémon, assigning them delivery tasks managed by the town. Chatot had been quite helpful during the initial stages. But once the system was running smoothly, Chatot had returned to its carefree lifestyle.
When Chatot and the young Noctowl returned, Yuga and Noctowl had already finalized their plans.
"What? You want me to work in some remote wilderness? No way!" Chatot, accustomed to the bright lights and lively atmosphere of Verdanturf Town, was utterly unwilling to relocate to a desolate place like the Resurrection Island.
But as soon as the words left its beak, Noctowl shot it a stern glare. Chatot immediately stopped resisting and reluctantly said, "F-fine, I'll do it… I'll endure the hardship."
Yuga chuckled. "It's easy to return from there. It's not a one-way trip. You can come back anytime during your free time."
Chatot thought it over and realized Yuga was right. Fine, it would go. After all, when the lady of the house had spoken, there was no room for objection. Rather than sulking, it figured it might as well go with a smile.
One had to admit, Chatot's ability to console itself was truly remarkable.
The young Noctowl, after listening for a long time, finally understood what was happening—they were moving! It needed to inform its friends about the news.
Once everything was settled, Yuga said to Noctowl and Chatot, "Alright, you two prepare yourselves. I'll come back to get you in a while." With that, he left. He still had to find Wigglytuff.
As soon as Yuga left, the young Noctowl flew off to the Main Ecopark and the Volcano Sub-Ecopark to tell Gallade and the young Ninetales about its family's impending move.
Leaving the Grassland Sub-Ecopark, Yuga saw Ninetales sitting idly in front of the Light Gate leading to Resurrection Island. He called out, "What are you doing? Finished admiring yourself?"
Ninetales gave Yuga a sideways glance. "Where did you go earlier? I couldn't find you. What's this gate for?"
When Ninetales was searching for Yuga, he had been on Resurrection Island, so it couldn't locate him.
After hearing Yuga explain everything about Resurrection Island, Ninetales looked intrigued. "Oh, so there's such a place? I want to check it out too!"
With that, it dove straight into the blue Light Gate.
Yuga didn't stop it, he merely shook his head and continued on his way to find Wigglytuff.
When Yuga found Wigglytuff, it was busy directing Rotom Wash to do the laundry.
The reason Yuga sought Wigglytuff was to delegate the overall management of the Island Ecopark to it.
Although the Island Ecopark already had 30 assistant Pokémon overseeing operations, a leader was still needed to coordinate resource allocation between the Island Park and the Main Ecopark.
Resources like Pokéblocks, minerals, and incense weren't produced on the island and had to be transported from the Main Ecopark. Without a general overseer, things could quickly descend into chaos.
Right now, the number of Pokémon in the Island Ecopark was still small, but as more Pokémon moved in over time, this managerial role would become even more critical.
In the Main Ecopark, Dou Dou handled overall management, ensuring everything was well-organized. Without Dou Dou, it would have been impossible to keep things running so smoothly.
However, since Dou Dou was already fully occupied managing the Main Ecopark, the task had to fall to Wigglytuff.
When Yuga explained his idea to Wigglytuff, it hesitated and asked, "Are you sure about giving this responsibility to me? I'm worried I won't do it well."
Yuga encouraged it, saying, "You can absolutely handle it. Don't you always assist Dou Dou? You already know how to manage an Ecopark. You'll do great! If you run into any issues, you can always ask Dou Dou for advice."
"But I still need to take care of you. There's a lot to do at home," Wigglytuff replied, still conflicted.
"That's no big deal. It doesn't have to be you specifically. The Rotom and Dou Dou can all handle those tasks. You don't need to worry about it," Yuga said with a sigh.
Yuga's household had several Rotoms, purchased long ago along with a Rotom PC. While their abilities weren't exceptional, they excelled at household chores.
They could possess various electrical appliances, so most of the household chores were handled by them. Audino and Wigglytuff only had to handle special tasks the Rotoms couldn't manage, like cooking.
But even those tasks could easily be done by other Audino.
"Alright then, I'll give it a try and do my best," Wigglytuff finally agreed under Yuga's encouragement. It wanted to help Yuga as much as possible, just like Dou Dou.
Since there were already ten Wigglytuff in the Island Ecopark, Yuga gave the one at home a name to distinguish it—Coco.
Just like Dou Dou, Coco was thrilled to have its own name.
When Yuga brought Coco to the Grassland Sub-Ecoark to pick up Chatot's family, they found the young Noctowl sobbing, clutching its two small friends tightly. Tears and snot were streaming down its face.
It was moving away and didn't know when it would meet its friends again.
Yuga didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the sight. "Alright, alright, your new home isn't any different from this one. It's just as easy to visit as before."
The young Noctowl's sobbing stopped abruptly upon hearing Yuga's words.
(|||︵.) R-really? I thought when you said 'deep mountains,' you meant actual deep mountains! This… this was too hasty…
After bidding farewell to its two friends, the young Noctowl and its parents followed Yuga and Coco to the Island Ecopark.
As soon as they passed through the Light Gate into the Lake Zone, Chatot was awestruck by the massive Ho-Oh skeleton hovering above the lake.
Chatot, having been revived through Ho-Oh's power and carrying a small portion of its blessing, was incredibly sensitive to Ho-Oh's aura.
"Y-Yuga, what… what is this?" Chatot stammered, staring at the skeleton in disbelief.
"Oh, that? It's just a Ho-Oh skeleton," Yuga replied casually.
Just a Ho-Oh skeleton? Confirming its suspicion, Chatot nearly wanted to drench Yuga with spit. How could he downplay something so significant? Didn't he realize what a Ho-Oh represented?
Meanwhile, Noctowl was equally stunned. It couldn't believe its eyes—a Ho-Oh skeleton! Ho-Oh was a Legendary Pokémon!
The young Noctowl, however, had no such reaction. It didn't understand what Ho-Oh represented and had never seen one before. Moreover, the skeleton's aura was entirely subdued, so unless one got close, it was unnoticeable. While the young Noctowl found the skeleton imposing, it wasn't as shaken as its parents.
"W-where did you even get this?" Chatot asked, its usual carefree demeanor replaced by an intense gaze fixed on the Ho-Oh skeleton.
"Oh, I just found it lying around," Yuga answered nonchalantly.
Found it lying around? Why don't you just ascend to the heavens already! Chatot thought. Why couldn't something this fortunate happen to me? It concluded that Yuga must be the most audacious faker it had ever met.
Ignoring Yuga, who was deliberately playing it cool, Chatot flapped its wings and flew above the Ho-Oh skeleton. The closer it got, the stronger the sense of kinship it felt radiating from the remains.
"Alright, you can admire it later. The Ho-Oh skeleton will always be here, so you can come back and look as much as you want. Right now, let's take care of the real task!" Yuga shouted at Chatot.
Reluctantly, Chatot flew back down.
After leaving the Lake Zone, Yuga first took Chatot's family to meet the group of Noctowls and Hoothoots.
Both Chatot and its Noctowl wife were Elite level Pokémon. It took them no time at all to establish dominance over the weaker Hoothoots and Noctowls. Within moments, the pair had assembled a team of subordinates.
From then on, Noctowl and Chatot would be responsible for training this group, teaching them how to act in an organized and disciplined manner.
Previously, these Hoothoots and Noctowls had been working as lookouts for the Aggron clan. However, their work had been unprofessional due to a lack of proper training.
Having served in the patrol team and interacted with the Xatu, Noctowl already had its own methods for training this group.
As for Chatot, it was merely an accessory to its wife. Wherever Noctowl pointed, it followed orders without question.
Although the young Noctowl wasn't particularly strong, it had been personally trained by its parents. Its capabilities were decent enough to lead subordinates in day-to-day tasks.
After arranging things for Chatot's family, Yuga took Coco to the control room. Since Coco was already acquainted with the 30 assistant Pokémon there, Yuga didn't need to introduce them.
The assistant Pokémon were highly professional, following Yuga's instructions to the letter. They raised no objections to Yuga's decision to place Coco in a leadership role.
Next, Yuga brought Coco to the Mountain Range Zone to introduce it to the Aggron clan so they could familiarize themselves with their future overseer.
However, upon entering the Mountain Range Zone, they were greeted by the sight of Ninetales standing proudly atop the mountain, looking every bit like it was flaunting its dominance. This scene frightened the Aggrons terribly.
"What are you doing?" Yuga shouted.
"Nothing much!" Ninetales replied, leaping gracefully from the mountaintop as soon as it saw Yuga approaching.
Although Yuga called it a "hill," the mountain in the Mountain Range Zone wasn't small at all—easily the height of a 20- or 30-story building. Yet Ninetales leapt down as if it were nothing.
Thankfully, with its lithe movements and the assistance of its psychic power, Ninetales landed smoothly by Yuga's side.
