Regeneration
"That was easier than I expected," Brax says as he looks at the bloody mess he made of the seven men.
All of them are now dead.
"It's a bloody mess," he says looking down on himself. His clothes are completely drenched from their blood.
"This should work," He says controlling his Qi energy and separating the blood from his clothes and body, making it look like he never got involved with this shit in the first place.
'I underestimated my own strength. These people were no match even though half of them were in the foundation realm.' Though he was disappointed by how easily his opponents fell, he gained some insight into his own power.
"Looks like the quest is going to be very easy," Brax concludes, as the requirement for the quest was at the 6th level of the Qi condensation realm. With his current strength, he can easily kill most foundation realm cultivators.
He still has no idea how he will fare against those on the 7th, 8th, and 9th levels, but he is sure that he can deal with anyone lower.
Putting aside his current thoughts, he brings his attention back to the unconscious girl.
He noticed that she was still alive when he was fighting her assailants. "Should I kill her and completely rid myself of any future troubles?" He questions and approaches the girl.
He sees a deep gash on her back caused by a sword slash.
Her dress is completely bloodied from her wounds.
"I am surprised that she is still alive," He says as he notices multiple deep lacerations on her body. "Interesting," he says as his eyes gleam with excitement.
Brax lifts the girl and undresses her, he then uses his Qi energy and cleans her of the blood covering her whole body.
Now he has a good view of how the girl looks. She is very beautiful. Big eyes, a nice nose, plum lips, and a sharp facial structure. Her body is not bad either, with ample breasts, a small waist, nice hips, and long legs.
But none of this matters to Brax right now. His teenage hormones cannot overpower his thirst for knowledge. His main focus right now is the wounds on her body.
There is a deep stab wound that goes completely through her stomach and out of her back, there is of course the long cut from a sword on her upper back. Multiple lacerations on her arms, a few deep cuts on her thighs and legs, and a few cuts on her face.
A regular human wouldn't survive these injuries. With how deep these cuts are, one will bleed to death, but this girl is still alive.
He zones in on her wounds and gets fascinated by the development in front of his eyes. "Incredible!" Brax exclaims as he sees cell regeneration happening very fast.
"This explains why her bleeding has almost stopped. Most of her blood vessels are already healed," he says looking through her wounds. "Not only can Qi energy grant strength, but also accelerates healing," He concludes seeing Qi energy at work.
They are clearly fueling her body's recovery.
"But what about them?" he questions as he looks at the corpses of the seven he killed. If she can heal from such serious injuries, why can't they?
He questions and approaches his first victim, the one who got his throat punctured by his own dagger.
"This one died instantly," Brax says as the dagger went through his throat and severed his spinal nerves from the rest of his body. It's very similar to getting decapitated. Without the brain's connection to the body, the body is useless.
He then brings his attention to the corpse that got his heart stabbed. Brax flips the body over and sees that the man is not healing. He focuses on the wound and notices that there is no Qi energy inside the man's body.
"The heart is the thing that holds Qi energy, if it's punctured, the stored Qi energy escapes. Meaning one cannot heal without excess Qi energy," He concludes and moves on to the corpse that has the dagger stuck deep inside its head. Brax pulls out the dagger and looks inside the wound to see a complete mess of a brain.
"The Qi energy I channeled into the dagger must have pulverized his brain upon entrance," he says and looks at the corpse with its face caved in. He doesn't need to check it because it is very evident.
He then looks at the corpse with the burnt head. "My fire burned through his skull," Brax says as there is nothing left but a brittle structure of a head, it would crumble from a strong wind.
"What about this one?" Brax gets curious and approaches the corpse with its throat ripped out. "This one is still alive," Brax says as he senses a weak heartbeat inside the man's body.
He focuses on the ripped throat and sees cellular activities, trying to heal the ripped throat. "His healing is much slower than the girl's," he observes. "Is there a reason for this? The girl and this man are on the same cultivation stage so why is her healing much faster?" He questions.
"I need to look more into this," Brax says and then stabs the not-so-dead man in the heart.
Brax then watches the Qi energy leak out of the man's body and dissipate into the air, finally killing the man.
As for the leader's corpse, there is no need to check. It is nothing but a headless paint splash on the ground.
Brax walks back to the girl and sees that she is recovering well.
"So the only way to sure kill a cultivator is to puncture the heart or sever the brain's connection from the body which can be achieved through multiple ways," He concludes and sits down next to the girl.
"This girl is very beautiful, isn't she?" Brax finally notices her beauty after curing his curiosity. "It will be a shame to kill such a beautiful girl," He says. "Plus, I can study her body's healing process," he says and starts watching as some of her smaller wounds start closing up.
"I wonder, how fast I heal?" He asks himself and makes a cut on his forearm to study it and to his surprise, his healing is more monstrous than the girls. The cut on his arm heals within a few seconds.
"Interesting. So the more Qi one has, the faster they heal," he concludes. It is well-known knowledge that some people can store more Qi than others inside their body and this depends on their cultivation technique and their talent.
Brax's talent is average, but his cultivation technique is the best one, allowing him to store Qi not only in his heart but also in every single cell of his body, making his regeneration monstrous.
"I wonder if I can improve my talent?" he questions and brings his attention back to the girl, as this question will need a little more research before he can even start thinking about taking some action.
