In Fairy Tail, starts with a Super Mega Gengar

Chapter 25: Arrival in Monet, Crying Little Juvia

Gaal pinched the raindrops that fell into his palm and between his fingers.

Although subtle, he could still feel a hint of Water Element magic.

This rain was not a natural occurrence.

Supporting such a wide range of precipitation is beyond what an ordinary mage could do.

But even with 'Unicorn' lurking in the sea, this little bit of rain would not be enough to flood the city or bring it ashore.

Nearby, the murmurs of vendors reached Gaal's ears.

"This rain just won't stop."

"My stock is almost gone; it's been pouring for three days now. It should have let up by now."

"Who knows?"

"The kingdom should send someone to fight off 'Unicorn'."

"There used to be a ship that could get through, but I don't know what's been going on these past few days. Unicorn hasn't rested, and even the only round-trip ship has stopped."

"I heard from someone that they almost couldn't come back a few days ago."

"Thankfully, a big wave brought the ship back; otherwise, everyone on board could have been lost."

"Yikes—"

"That sounds terrifying?"

After listening, Gaal pondered for a moment.

He felt unsure and began to walk toward the center of Monet.

At that moment, in the public garden at the center of Monet, little Juvia stood holding an umbrella with one hand and a box her mother had told her to deliver to her uncle in the other, sitting on the edge of the fountain flowerbed, her short legs swinging as they couldn't quite reach the ground.

With a slightly aggrieved expression, tears welled up in her eyes:

"Uu..."

Being alone in this unfamiliar city was quite terrifying.

Especially the massive creature she had encountered three days ago while riding the boat.

She felt that the immense beast had come for her.

Did it want to eat her?

Little Juvia didn't understand why she felt this way.

Fortunately, a large wave had pushed the ship back, away from the enormous creature.

But Juvia didn't know what to do now.

Because the boats at the port had already stopped running.

In that case...

Little Juvia clutched the box tightly in her small hands, continuously moving them, calculating the loose change left in her pockets.

But no matter how she counted, there was only enough for five meals, and that was just one meal a day.

Her stomach was already growling a little.

But little Juvia didn't dare to buy food.

If she ate now, she wouldn't be able to eat tonight.

It would be better to eat before going to sleep.

Little Juvia shook her head, trying to brush away all the delicious thoughts from her mind.

However, that left her with an empty head.

The fear of the unfamiliar city and the feeling of being lost surged within her, and tears flowed for no reason:

"Waaah..."

Hugging the umbrella and box, she sat by the fountain flowerbed, unable to stop her sobs.

And as little Juvia cried, the rain around seemed to fall harder.

Just then.

Tap tap!

The sound of boots echoed in front of little Juvia.

She looked up through her tears and saw a figure in a black magic robe standing before her, startling her so much that she hurriedly tried to stand:

"Um.... Did I disturb you? I'm sorry. I'll leave right away."

Because she instinctively felt it must be her presence that caused the never-ending rain and disturbed others, little Juvia apologetically rushed to excuse herself.

Gaal looked down at little Juvia and gently said:

"No need to be nervous. And no need to apologize; you haven't disturbed anyone."

Gaal had planned to head to the city government building where the client was located, but as he reached the city center, he noticed the source of magical energy in the rain. The familiar outfit and umbrella indicated who the little girl was.

He hadn't expected to run into Juvia here.

Curiously, Gaal asked:

"I was just wondering, why is such a cute girl crying here? Can you tell me?"

Seeing the kind mage in front of her not annoyed at her, little Juvia felt a sense of relief and hesitantly said:

"It's... it's because my mama asked me to deliver something to my uncle. But now I can't get across the river... There's a really, really, really big beast in the river that wants to eat Juvia. Juvia is too scared to go over.... And it keeps raining.... Juvia hates the rain...."

As little Juvia continued to speak, she felt increasingly aggrieved, tears welling up in her eyes.

Gurgle—

Suddenly, her stomach rumbled.

The moment of embarrassment washed over her, turning her face bright red, and she became flustered.

"Ah... um.... not...."

She felt embarrassed to say she was hungry and didn't know how to explain that to the mage beside her.

But the very next moment, a cream bun was offered to Juvia, as Gaal smiled and said:

"You must be starving."

Little Juvia's eyes glistened with tears; after hesitating for a moment, she quietly took the bread and started eating.

Gaal looked at Juvia and said:

"The fact that you can make it rain around you means you have a high affinity for Water Element magic; you could become a very powerful water mage in the future. Such a talent is something many people envy. You don't need to feel so inferior."

Little Juvia listened, confused, and somewhat aggrieved:

"That's not true. Rain is troublesome."

As she spoke, little Juvia started counting on her fingers:

"I've flooded my home, making it hard for my parents to work for food; it messed up school activities; let...."

As she continued, her voice gradually became quieter.

Gaal shook his head.

Ultimately, it was still too barren up north.

Someone like Juvia, with her talent, would be nurtured as a core member in a guild back in the Fiore Kingdom.

But Gaal didn't intend to take her away right now.

After all, Juvia had parents and family; he couldn't just abduct her.

After pondering for a moment, Gaal looked at little Juvia and spoke:

"So.... As long as it doesn't rain around you, that'll be fine, right?"

Little Juvia, somewhat confused, looked up:

"Huh?"

Gaal smiled and said:

"Just extend your hand."

Little Juvia, without thinking, extended one small hand, staring blankly at Gaal.

Gaal shook his head:

"Both hands."

Little Juvia immediately snapped back to reality, placing the box beside the flowerbed and covering the umbrella over it.

Then she extended both hands, looking at Gaal with confusion.

Gaal chuckled softly and raised his hand over Juvia's, palm facing her hands.

A soft yellow light began to glow, and a light sphere appeared, writhing and reshaping continuously.

Little Juvia gazed in wonder at the scene.

A few seconds later, a small pale white cat landed in her hands, nearly causing her to drop it.

Little Juvia stared in surprise at the adorable white cat:

"It's so cute!"

The little white cat affectionately nuzzled against little Juvia.

At that moment, a panel of the Pokémon appeared before Gaal's eyes.

[Name: Meowstic (Shiny Pokémon)]

[Attribute: Psychic]

[Ability: Keen Eye, Infiltrator]

[Skills: Scratch, Growl, Telekinesis, Charming Voice, Psychic Impact....]

It was a newly born Psychic Pokémon.

Gaal then raised a finger, a bit of golden light flashing between his fingers, and touched the white cat's forehead.

In the next moment, little Juvia felt the cozy warmth radiating from the cat in her arms.

As that warm feeling spread, the rain around her dissipated within a few meters.

A beam of sunlight broke through the clouds above, as if to clear the skies here.

Little Juvia stared blankly at the sunlight breaking through the clouds, tracing a beautiful rainbow across the sky as it descended towards her....

The Meowstic in her arms stretched its short little paws to scratch its itchy forehead.

It seemed...

It had gained an additional ability?!

Meanwhile, in Gaal's view, Meowstic's panel was now:

[Name: Meowstic (Shiny Pokémon)]

[Attribute: Psychic]

[Ability: 'Sunshine', Keen Eye, Infiltrator]

[Skills: Scratch, Growl, Telekinesis, Charming Voice, Psychic Impact....]

(Sunshine: When it appears, the weather around turns sunny.)
