In Fairy Tail, starts with a Super Mega Gengar

Chapter 27: 'Unicorn' Bigger than the City

In the center of Monet.

Gaal looked at the luxurious mansion in front of him while glancing at the bounty notice in his hand. He confirmed that the client of the mission lived here. Approaching, he spoke to the guard. Upon hearing that Gaal was a mage, the guard did not dare to be negligent and quickly invited Gaal inside.

At that moment, the lord of Monet, Cachino, was staring out the window, his expression filled with uncertainty. "Could it be that a powerful mage has arrived?" he wondered. "How could it suddenly clear up?" The consistent rain had been beneficial for him. During this time, due to the rampage of the giant monster 'Unicorn,' royal orders and management had not been able to come through. He had effectively become a dictator for a while. Especially after the kingdom's taxes had been collected but never submitted, Cachino was unable to control his greed, looking at the pile of gold coins in his treasury.

Taking advantage of the kingdom's inability to come, he had secretly constructed numerous works at the port, intending to become independent. As long as 'Unicorn' existed for even a day, the kingdom's army wouldn't be able to pass. And if the kingdom's army couldn't come, there was plenty he could do. However, now...

The suddenly clear sky wasn't something an ordinary person could achieve; it had to be a remarkably powerful mage. The thought made Cachino grind his teeth in frustration. He hoped it wouldn't interfere with his plans. Just then, a guard rushed in to report that a mage had arrived outside, claiming to take on the giant monster 'Unicorn.'

Cachino exclaimed, "What?! Quick! Let him in! No! Come back! I'll go myself!"

Sweating profusely, Cachino pondered his countermeasures. He wondered if money could bribe this mage; if he were to solve the Unicorn problem, when the kingdom's people came, everything he had done would be exposed. Even serving a prison term would be mild—he might very well end up dead.

While Cachino was lost in thought and anxiety about his strategy, he finally met the so-called mage. Looking at Gaal's youthful face, Cachino hesitated and said, "Are you the mage here to defeat Unicorn?"

Gaal nodded, but before he could speak, Cachino breathed a sigh of relief and continued, "That's great. 'Unicorn' is very formidable. The kingdom has sent many A-Class Mages, yet they haven't been able to handle it. You're so young; it would be better if you didn't go," he added.

"To avoid losing your life, that is."

Gaal raised an eyebrow. From the extravagant style of this mansion and the discussions among street vendors in the city, this Cachino didn't seem like a genuinely kind-hearted person. "If that's the case," Gaal replied, "then why does the bounty notice state that a B-Class Mage is sufficient?"

Cachino's lip twitched. It was marked as B-Class simply to prevent you guys from actually dealing with 'Unicorn.' However, with the failure of some A-Class Mages, Cachino was no longer worried. Hearing Gaal's question, he nonchalantly dodged, saying, "That was posted a long time ago. Because of 'Unicorn,' the information hasn't spread widely. You should just go back. Waiting for the kingdom to send a powerful mage to handle 'Unicorn' would be better." As he spoke, Cachino signaled his butler to send Gaal away. Since this guy was asking so many questions, he must be just a B-Class Mage; after all, no B-Class Mage could possibly handle 'Unicorn.' He needed to quickly find that mysterious mage.

The butler, understanding the situation, did not dare to offend easily as Gaal was a mage who dared to take missions, indicating formidable strength. He not only prepared a gift for Gaal but also offered him ten gold coins as travel expenses.

This was enough to leave Gaal bewildered. He had posted the task yet seemed to act as if he didn't want anyone to complete it. What exactly did he want?

Gaal shook his head, jingling the ten coins in his hand as he headed toward the port. Having come this far, he needed to check it out. Moreover, he had promised Juvia that he would set sail soon; he couldn't go back on his word. Besides... the reward was three hundred thousand gold coins. How could he let himself be sent off with just ten coins?

At the port.

With the sudden clearing of the weather, many people came out to work, discussing the situation. After wandering around, Gaal didn't gather any useful information. However, he did notice several new structures standing by the port, resembling turrets.

But across the river, aside from 'Unicorn,' there was only the kingdom. Building these structures to defend against your own? It seemed very strange. Unless...

Gaal's expression became peculiar. That guy wasn't planning to rebel, hoping to prevent anyone from completing the mission, was he?

Thinking this through, Gaal's mouth twitched, feeling that he was onto something significant. This guy... certainly had some guts.

There were some small fishing boats at the port, already preparing to set out to sea. Gaal extended his mental power into the river. He did not detect any so-called giant monsters but recalled Juvia saying that the giant monsters wanted to eat her.

Gaal raised his hand, summoning the Water Stone Plate. He then pointed his finger. The Water Stone Plate flew towards the distant river surface of the port and landed in the water. This tool would attract even more enticing catches.

Sure enough, the moment the stone plate entered the river, the alluring aura spread with the water flow, causing the entire river to stir. This represented the rules of the water system. Even a regular water mage who obtained it could achieve enhancements far beyond their limits multiple times over. Not to mention, more sensitive creatures.

Every fish with even a hint of magic power swarmed eagerly toward the Water Stone Plate that had fallen in the center of the river. The commotion on the river grabbed the attention of many residents:

"What's going on over there? Are those fish? Oh my god! So many fish!!! Ahhhh! How annoying, I wish we had set sail sooner. Hurry! Grab the nets! Let's set sail! Let's go before Unicorn arrives!"

Not far from the river, countless bubbles bubbled up as fish leapt out of the water wildly. Under such circumstances, even a random net would bring back a bountiful harvest. Many people were eager to set sail to catch the fish.

Suddenly, a sharp-eyed individual noticed something and called out, "Wait! The sea surface looks off!"

People nearby, confused, didn't even lift their heads. "What looks off? Hurry up and grab your things to set out."

But right next to them came a paralytic voice, followed by terrified cries:

"It's a tsunami!!! Run!!!"

The far-off sea surface was continuously rising, soaring over ten meters above the port, and it kept climbing higher.

A massive wave rushed towards the port of Monet. The only one at the port who remained calm and still was Gaal.

He sensed the creatures lurking beneath that colossal wave.

Gaal nodded in satisfaction and then flicked his finger. The Water Stone Plate that had fallen into the river broke through the water's surface and rushed back toward the port at high speed.

As he sensed that the Water Stone Plate was moving farther away, the gigantic wave became turbulent.

"Hiss—!!"

The terrifying roar of a monstrous beast rang out, accompanied by the frenzied surge of water-type magic power, which Gaal felt distinctly from his position at the port.

The distance of over ten meters rapidly escalated to several dozen meters under the effect of the chaotic magic power.

Boom—!!!

A tremendous noise erupted as the enormous creature broke through the towering sea waves, a massive squid with a single tentacle that could span across the whole town of Monet.

The three-story tall seven magical eyes on its head fixated on the Water Stone Plate flying toward the port.
