Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Return
The passage of time has always been elusive. Li Huan and the girl did not know how long they had walked, but they finally reached the edge of the forest.
"Um, this is the boundary of the forest," the girl said softly. "Can you put me down now? I feel like I've almost recovered."
Upon hearing this, Li Huan set the girl down and supported her. She stood steadily on the ground, testing it with her feet, seemingly no longer in serious trouble.
"Um, thank you," the girl bowed to Li Huan again, expressing her gratitude. "I really owe it all to you this time..."
"No need to thank me," Li Huan declined once more. "After all, it was just a small effort on my part."
"Um, sir," the girl took off her sweater and handed it back to Li Huan. "This is yours, thank you."
"No need," Li Huan put on the sweater, and his previously cold body instantly returned to normal temperature. "As long as you're okay."
"Um, would you like to come to our house to rest for a bit?" the girl invited Li Huan. "You saved me, and I'm sure my dad would welcome you."
"No, thank you." Li Huan glanced at his skill bar. "I actually have other things to do; saving you was just a matter of convenience..."
"If you really want to thank me, then please be sure to take care of your own safety next time." Li Huan ruffled the girl's hair. "So, take care next time, young lady."
With that, he left without waiting for her response, departing in a carefree manner.
Watching Li Huan walk deeper into the forest, the girl hesitated for a moment, bowed to him, and then walked out of the forest.
When Li Huan was sure the girl could no longer see him, he revealed a rather subtle expression.
"I say... that must be Kiana," he mused, stroking his chin. Although she looked much younger, her face was still quite similar; however, the girl's temperament was completely different from when she was a child.
"Yes, this is indeed her dream; I didn't expect it to be a childhood dream." Li Huan scratched his head. "Is this a nightmare? The content is so ominous, but thanks to me, she should be able to sleep soundly tonight."
While thinking this, Li Huan activated Dream Jump. The original purpose of coming here was to test this skill, and since the cooldown time had reset, there was no need to stay any longer.
Li Huan's body transformed into a blue light and flew into the sky, disappearing without a trace.

When Li Huan regained consciousness, he was back in Kiana's room. He maintained his previous posture, standing in front of Kiana, who still had a very poor sleeping posture.
"Back already..." he said softly, then squatted down and quickly hid back inside the cardboard box.
He directly hid in the box and ran out of Kiana's room, locking the door behind him.
When he returned to his own room, the system's voice sounded.
"Hey, welcome back."
"Where did you go earlier..." Li Huan emerged from the box and placed items into his inventory. "I called for you, but you couldn't respond."
"I was always within you; I just couldn't speak," the system replied.
"Why not?"
"Special circumstances. When you used Dream Jump to enter someone else's consciousness space, I couldn't communicate with you. It's probably due to some interference within the soul's consciousness space. But it's not a big deal since you can still use the system's functions normally."
"That's true..."
Halfway through his words, Li Huan sneezed.
"Ugh, it seems the effects from over there are coming into real life."
"Of course, you directly crossed into someone else's consciousness world with your physical body, and given the cold climate, I think you might have caught a cold."
"I guess I'll just take some cold medicine and go to sleep."
After saying this, Li Huan got up and left the room to prepare some cold medicine.
The next morning.
"Haah~~" Kiana groggily got out of bed and yawned.
"It's morning..." She glanced at the window, where no sunlight was coming in. After all, they were under the bridge.
"I feel like I had a nostalgic dream last night... It seemed like the first time I went out with my old man, watching him hunt the Honkai beasts."
As she got dressed, she muttered to herself, "At that time, he only let me watch him fight the Honkai beasts and wouldn't let me join in. I was a bit dissatisfied, and when I saw other Honkai beasts, I bravely went to hunt them myself."
"But then I accidentally slipped down a slope and fell into a nearby forest."
Kiana's face turned red; people often feel embarrassed when recalling their past foolish memories.
"What was I thinking back then..."
"But I was saved later... that was a stroke of luck."
She tried to remember what that person looked like; he seemed to be an Asian man wearing a sweater.
"I didn't ask for his name back then, and I don't know where he went in the end... I wonder where he is now?"
As Kiana left her room, she saw Tom sleeping in a basket, and Bronya sitting on the sofa while Mei was making breakfast.
"Good morning, Mei-senpai, um, and you too." After greeting the two, Kiana looked around. "Um, where's that guy?"
Just as she finished speaking, the bathroom door opened. Li Huan walked out, sniffling, and after wiping his nose, he greeted, "Good morning."
Seeing Li Huan like this, she couldn't help but ask, "What happened to you? Did you catch a cold?"
"Yeah, probably because I was naked in the cold wind last night."
He came to the living room and wiped his nose.
"I mean, don't you usually exercise? Your immunity is so poor."
"Catching a cold is unpredictable; maybe one day you'll inexplicably catch one too."
Li Huan didn't want to explain more on this matter. He wiped his nose and sat at the dining table.
Looking at Li Huan's back at the dining table, Kiana furrowed her brows.
For some reason, Li Huan's back seemed to overlap with a figure from her memories.
"Must be an illusion..." she muttered, then entered the bathroom.
—————————————————————
Not far from the bridge, Siegfried was monitoring the area.
"What kind of mess did that kid and the cat get into? I have no idea where they hid it."
Siegfried had been following Tom's tank last night, but when he arrived at the bridge, he didn't see the vehicle.
So he chose a foolish method: to monitor the entire bridge.
They couldn't possibly stay here without leaving; when they do leave, they will reveal their disguise.
If they really managed to escape right under his nose, then they must have some skills.
"Well, it seems that girl looks pretty safe here..."
Siegfried looked at the bridge and began to recall the past.
That was a few years ago when he hadn't fully recognized Kiana as his daughter and hadn't given her that name.
He took Kiana out to watch him fight the Honkai beasts, and just after defeating one, she suddenly disappeared.
He frantically searched the entire mountain, killing all the hidden Honkai beasts inside, but couldn't find her.
Just when he was disheartened and returning home, he found Kiana waiting for him at home.
"I was really scared out of my wits back then."
The past was hard to look back on; even now, Siegfried still wiped the sweat from his forehead in shock. "Maybe I'm just not cut out for raising kids."
"But she said back then that she was saved by a big brother who was Asian. Who could that person be?"
