Chapter 48: Chapter 47

"You're quite confident."

Biscuit propped her chin up with both hands, looking adorably inquisitive as she remarked:

"Still, even so, I could just go out and find a similarly talented female disciple to meet that condition. For example..."

Her gaze deliberately landed on Pakunoda.

Pakunoda, who had been quietly listening to their exchange, never expected to be dragged into the conversation.

Instinctively, she turned to look at Morin.

At that moment, Morin calmly reached behind him and pulled out something resembling a scroll.

"A small token of sincerity. Please accept it."

After all, these seasoned veterans were not so easily persuaded. Without offering something of value, it was nearly impossible to win them over.

"No Nen consumption..."

Biscuit's eyes flickered as she noticed that the object Morin had taken out did not cause any fluctuations in aura.

Curious, she studied the item in his hands. It was a scroll-like object, dark green in color.

"This is called the Treasure-Seeking Paper. It's a secret tool used to locate rare and precious items. By exposing it to fire or high heat, it reveals riddles or clues that lead to the treasure's location," Morin explained.

This was one of three tools he had obtained during his journey here.

Item: Treasure-Seeking Paper

Effect: When looking for a highly valuable item, tear off a sheet and expose it to fire or high heat. A riddle will appear, which, once deciphered, leads to the item's location.

This tool was exceptionally powerful. It could be used to find not only your own belongings but even someone else's. Furthermore, it wasn't limited to finding objects—it could even locate people. A versatile and practical tool.

"Treasure-Seeking Paper, huh..."

After hearing Morin's explanation, Biscuit glanced at it skeptically before her eyes sparkled with interest.

"If I used this to search for the world's most famous gemstones, I suppose it could..."

Before Morin could finish his sentence, the dark green scroll in his hand was swiftly snatched away.

"You tear it along this edge, right?"

Biscuit expertly tore along the marked line and pulled out a neatly squared sheet.

She poured some alcohol onto the bar counter, released her aura to ignite it, and a small flame quickly sprang up.

Her movements were fluid and smooth, showcasing her experience and decisiveness.

"What next?"

She looked over at Pakunoda, who appeared momentarily dazed, and then at Morin, who was staring at her.

"While heating it, just ask the question about the item you wish to locate."

"Got it~"

Biscuit nodded in understanding, placed the Treasure-Seeking Paper over the flame, and softly muttered:

"Where is the crown jewel passed down through the generations by the King of Kadria?"

This was the reason she had come to this small town.

As a gemstone hunter, her passion for precious stones was unparalleled.

"Words are appearing!"

The moment she finished speaking, lines of text began to emerge on the Treasure-Seeking Paper, lighting up Biscuit's eyes with excitement.

"A simple riddle?"

She quickly scanned the text, falling into deep thought.

"Wait for me!!"

In less than three seconds, Biscuit suddenly exclaimed.

She tossed the Treasure-Seeking Paper back to Morin and, like a whirlwind, dashed out of the tavern.

Her speed, despite her petite frame and cumbersome attire, was astonishingly fast and defied her youthful appearance.

Within three seconds, she had already solved the riddle on the Treasure-Seeking Paper.

In fact, it might've taken her slightly longer than necessary—after all, even elementary school-level intellects like Doraemon and Nobita could decipher the riddles with ease.

For a veteran hunter like Biscuit, this posed no challenge whatsoever.

Pakunoda glanced at the creaking tavern door, then back at the Treasure-Seeking Paper in Morin's hand.

"...Is she really the person we're looking for?"

After a brief silence, Pakunoda voiced a seemingly redundant question.

"Yes, that's Biscuit. Biscuit Krueger, a very experienced Hunter," Morin replied with a slight nod.

"She's a pure and orthodox Nen user, one who has honed her skills steadily and methodically over time."

"She often travels the world, exploring and interacting with other Nen users in combat. This has given her extraordinary insight and understanding of Nen that far surpasses the norm."

As Morin spoke, his eyes shone with admiration.

"Learning from someone like her is far better than fumbling through wild, unstructured self-study."

Morin had only been exposed to the world of Nen for less than half a year, and his understanding and application of it were still in their infancy.

If he could correct his flaws and bad habits under Biscuit's guidance early on, his mastery of Nen would undoubtedly improve by leaps and bounds.

"Learning, huh..."

Pakunoda fell silent.
