Chapter 177.2 Adrift the Miasmic Sea (2/2)
"Then, of course we should go there! The glacier is so slow it irritates me. I’ll find a Miasmic Sea Ship and return to the mainland once we get there!" Wang Ke said while laughing.
Just as she was about to say something—she looked into the distance with a raised eyebrow.
"What is it?" Wang Ke asked.
"Over there. A large group of demonic beasts seems to be coming our way!" Long Yu said.
"Demonic beasts?" Wang Ke was appalled. "Quick, let's go into the bomb shelter! Uh, I mean, the ice cellar I dug!" Wang Ke quickly pulled her along and dashed toward an ice cave nearby.
Long Yu frowned instinctively when he grabbed her by the hand. She wanted to break free, but she had no essence energy, even though her vital channels had recovered. She was still like an ordinary person and couldn’t offer resistance.
They soon entered the ice cave. Wang Ke deftly sealed the entrance with some ice blocks, then melted the edges to have them freeze again and make the entrance turn into a single block of ice. Long Yu looked at the ice cave with surprise in her eyes.
"You dug a big cave house?" Long Yu gasped.
"This is our clan's ultimate craft, great as a survival measure! We used to dig underground. But the situation is a little different now, so I could only dig two bedrooms and one living room inside the glacier. Unfortunately, no kitchen and no toilet! Please bear with me!" Wang Ke explained.
Long Yu: "...................!"
"This is called 'sofa'. I can only make one with ice here, so it's a little uncomfortable for the bum. Put some clothes on top before you sit; that would help a bit!" Wang Ke said. And so, the two of them sat in the ice house and watched the situation outside through the translucent but blurry ice walls.
They saw massive serpents arrive and encircle their glacier, while a few even slithered to climb on top; they looked like they were waiting for something. Eventually, a gigantic snake that overshadowed the rest swam over and made its way up the glacier after circling around it.
"That's the Snake King?" Wang Ke was astonished.
"Roar~~~~~~~ How come there’s a glacier here?" the Snake King asked.
"We don't know. It was here when we passed by this place!" a snake general replied.
"Humph, it must have drifted over, but why hasn't it melted in this weather?" grumbled the reptile leader.
"My King! Demonic Crocodile Island is straight ahead? Are you sure he's dead?" a snake general asked.
"Of course! I saw it with my own eyes. The demonic crocodile died during the Dragon Gate Assembly; I'm sure his den is only being guarded by some weak underlings!" the leader said sinisterly.
"That's good!" The snake generals were excited.
"Humph, have I lied to you over the past few days?" The Snake King roared, "I’ve taken you guys into so many demonic beasts' dens. Did we even encounter a single one of their kings? Humph, these b*stards! They used to be so arrogant, but they’re all dead now. Hahaha! All the wealth and possessions they snatched from others belong to me now! All snakes, get ready. Charge into the demonic crocodile's den and carry every treasure you find back to our hideout! Kill everyone who dares to stop us!"
"Understood!" the exhilarated generals cried out.
Wang Ke looked at the outside situation through the blurry ice, still sitting on the ice-carved sofa. There was shock in his eyes.
"Damn, no wonder the Snake King showed no concern when I was looting artifacts and storage bangles from those corpses back at the Dragon Gate Assembly. He was biding his time! He's going to rob all the dens of all those fallen demonic beasts! Damn... What a bandit!" Wang Ke raged with angry eyes.
"You look angry," Long Yu said.
"Of course I'm angry! I'm his superior. Why didn't he tell me about such an opportunity to plunder all those riches? He’s going to take everything for himself? Such an act of disrespect towards me, his superior!" Wang Ke sounded furious.
Long Yu: "............!"
"Shhh!" the Snake King suddenly cried out. The snake swarm quieted down.
"My King, what happened?" one of the generals asked.
"I think I heard that b*stard Wang Ke's voice!" The Snake King was a little confused. Inside the ice cave—Wang Ke immediately covered his mouth.
"My King, are you sure you’re not imagining things? It's impossible for him to be here! We've already searched the area; there's no one else!" another general said.
After a moment of silence, the Snake King finally nodded. "You may be right. Perhaps my strong desire to kill that bastard is making me see things!"
"My King, based on your orders, we've sent scouts to keep watch in the Miasmic Sea. We will surely send word the moment Wang Ke shows up!" the snake general replied.
"Good. Keep a close watch! I heard that Wang Ke has been missing for more than a month; he disappeared during the explosion back at the Dragon Gate Assembly. Rumor has it that he was swept by the tornado all the way to the Miasmic Sea. So, there’s a good chance we’ll see him! Humph, I couldn’t do anything to him since he had the Demon Sovereign backing him… But now that he's in the Miasmic Sea, I will make him regret being a human. Then I will tear him into ten thousand pieces before I eat him!" the Snake King roared.
"Understood!" The snake generals acknowledged.
"Come, follow me up the island. Kill everyone and take everything. Hahahaha!" The Snake King burst out in laughter.
He acted as he spoke, leasing all the snakes toward a nearby island. Wang Ke finally loosened up the hand covering his mouth when all those beasts left. As he looked at them leave, he cursed, "What an ungrateful reptile! How much dragon Qi did you absorb thanks to me, back at the Dragon Gate Assembly! You would have died in the Blood Nourishing Dragon Array if it wasn’t for me! I was the one who woke you up! I gave you all those good things and even saved your life, yet you still want to eat me? You’re insane!"
