Chapter 179.1 Pretending to be the Demon Sovereign (1/2)
North of Divine Dragon Island, in the vicinity of the snake den!
Although the Snake King had taken an army of snakes to rob his neighbors, he still reserved some of his subordinates to guard his own place.
"Stay sharp! The Snake King just left, and you’re already slacking off! What if someone comes to rob us?" a snake general warned.
"Kraakaka!" The snakes bared their fangs, as if saying that whoever dared would die.
"Also, have any of the guards making rounds seen Wang Ke? Don't you know? Our king hates Wang Ke the most right now! Since the Demon Sovereign is gone, if not dead, our King no longer needs to suppress his anger. He wants to get rid of Wang Ke as soon as possible!" the snake general added.
"Kraakaka!" The swarm of snakes nodded.
A sentry hissed in alarm just then.
"Hmm?" The snake generals turned their heads. They saw a small boat that was quickly moving towards them amidst the fog.
"They must be sick of living. How dare they intrude the snake den! Take them down!" one of the generals commanded with a stare.
"Don't move!" said another snake official, all of a sudden. All the snakes were stunned and lost because of the conflicting commands.
Meanwhile, the small boat was already close by. It was an ice-carved vessel that carried two people.
The first thing they noticed was the black-robed figure wearing a demonic mask.
That appearance, that figure, and the clothes?
In this world, only he can make the Snake King's obey.
"Demon... Demon Sovereign?" a snake general cried out.
"Snake general, it's Wang Ke! The one rowing the boat is Wang Ke!" a snake underling reported. And then, they saw the infamous scammer as he stopped rowing the boat and walked to stand in front of the Demon Sovereign.
"Boss! We’ve arrived at the snake den. This is the place!" Wang Ke bowed and pointed to the snake abode.
"Wang Ke? You really didn't die! And you still dare to come here?" The snake generals showed a sinister look, but none of them did any reckless moves in the presence of the Demon Sovereign.
The Demon Sovereign didn't speak, he merely observed his surroundings in a lofty manner.
"Boss, please be patient. Let me ask around!" Wang Ke said seriously. Then, he addressed the snakes with an arrogant tone, "Where is your Snake King? Call him out! Don't you know who is here? Huh?"
"Tssssssss!" The snakes were shocked, and spat their forked tongues angrily, but their generals prevented their underlings from acting rashly.
Demon Sovereign? That's the Demon Sovereign? And Wang Ke calls him 'boss'? Is he a close subordinate? How else could he speak that way! Is he an impostor?
Very unlikely! Across the entire demonic sect, who would dare pretend to be the Demon Sovereign? That's tantamount to seeking death! The entire demonic sect would go after that person!
Moreover, the first thing that Wang Ke said was to demand our king's presence! Just look at his attitude! Who else could he be if not the Demon Sovereign?
"Go, inform our king that his presence is requested, quickly!" a snake general urged a fellow general. The latter dove into the seawater and rushed to find the Snake King.
Wang Ke saw all this with an unconcerned attitude.
"Why… The Snake King is booming in self-importance, isn’t he? My boss came here personally, and yet he doesn’t dare come out to see my boss?" Wang Ke asked with a threatening voice.
A snake general asked, "Tssssssss! Wang Ke, why are you here? How dare you come to the snake den?"
Wang Ke turned back and said to the Demon Sovereign, "Boss, I think the snake generals are trying to delay us! The Snake King is involved in the rebellion. I think we don't have to investigate him anymore; let's just pronounce him guilty straightaway! These snakes must be his accomplices! Why not just destroy them along with the Snake King!"
The snake generals were terrified. Damn you! I only asked you a question, do you have to lay so much blame on us?
The Demon Sovereign looked coldly at the snakes in silence.
"Humph. Do you think my boss will believe in your empty words? Some of the demonic cultivators rebelled against my boss during the Dragon Gate Assembly. You damned snakes, my boss will surely investigate the matter thoroughly. Humph! We just received news that the Snake King is going to all places and plundering dens from the other demonic beasts. He was obviously the biggest winner in the assembly! There must be evidence of the rebellion inside his den! You are all accomplices; all of you deserve death!" Wang Ke chided.
"Bullshit! Our king said that he didn't know what happened." said a snake general.
"Demon Sovereign, Wang Ke is outright slandering us!" the snakes said anxiously.
"Humph, my boss is giving the Snake King a chance to explain himself, but now he dares to hide from my boss. I'm sure he's guilty!" Wang Ke said.
"Our king is not here right now. I've already sent some snakes to inform him!" the snake general replied.
"Ridiculous! He obviously noticed that my boss was coming so he ran away in guilt!" Wang Ke said, glaring at the snake generals.
