"Would you like to distribute attribute points?" The system asked as Hael furrowed his eyebrows before asking..

"Hey system?" Hael called out as the voice sounded inside his head directly.

[Yes.]

"I just want to ask for your opinion on the cybernetic transfusion. Do you think I should undergo it?" Hael asked, turning his attention to the only thing whose advice he had available to him and he could trust the most.

[Do you want to undergo it?] The system replied, causing Hael to fall backward on his head.

"I'm just thinking, if I could combine the power of magic and cybernetics, then I could massively improve my strength in half the time that would have normally taken me. That would greatly help in my future goals. But I am also afraid of it straying me away from the true path of magic. I'm afraid it might slow down my cultivation instead," Hael said, expressing his true worries about the cybernetic transfusion potentially being counterproductive against his growth.

[I understand your fears, and I'm downloading new protocols to tackle it. If the Cybernetic transfusion ends up becoming a stray away on your path and nothing but a distraction, then it would be tagged as alien substance by the new protocols, and the system will immediately get rid of it, expelling it away from your body.

But if it ends up being just as you wanted, then it would be left. So you don't have to worry anymore about it. Whatever way it goes, you'll be safe...] The system replied lengthily.

Instead of telling Hael what he wanted to do and choosing his final decision, it had instead downloaded new protocols that would get rid of his fears about the cybernetic transfusion.

The system normally would have immediately refused such an idea, due to being an adept believer of the path of magic, but it also had no idea of the true capabilities of the way of cultivation.

[But know Hael, the path of Cybernetic transfusion can never be supreme to that of magic. You must never lose that unwavering belief or else you will surely be led astray...] The system warned as Hael gave a serious nod.

"With that settled, then I think I should put more stats into my strength to better make sure I do not fail the cybernetic transfusion or cause too much trouble..." Hael said as he willed for his attributes panel to appear...

[Attributes.]

[Strength: 15]

[Agility: 14]

[Perception: 12]

[Intelligence: 15]

[Charm: 3]

{Attributes points: 10}

"Add 5 attribute points to strength, 1 attribute to agility, 3 attributes to perception, and 1 attribute to charm..." Hael said.

And in the next instant, his veins wriggled all over his skin, a strange pure flow pumping out of his heart and entering through his veins, spreading all over his body.

"Arrgh..." A slight groan of pain escaped Hael's lips, feeling the essence enter into his wounds causing an intense itchy feeling, but just like before, they also quickly disappeared just as they came...

[Attributes]

[Strength: 20]

[Agility: 15]

[Perception: 15]

[Intelligence: 15]

[Charm: 4]

{Attributes Points: 0}

Looking at the stats, Hael gave a nod. Now his system was rhyming together, and his strength stat was at the forefront with all others lining exactly with it. The only thing that was falling gravely behind was his charm, but he was well aware, he would be needing it, but not really now. So he could afford paying less attention to it. Not like he was some ugly roach or something.

Just as the system said, it was about the ability to be followed and respected, which he didn't think would matter now that he was still so weak... freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Maybe after he grew up to the stage of a Captain, or the Major rank that was mentioned by Captain Aelia, then he could place undisputed attention on it...

"All I pray for is to live to see tomorrow. I hope everything works out well in the end.." Hael mused to himself, eyes staring at the white ceiling.

And he could swear he saw the prideful smile of his father appearing, and covering all of his vision as Hael slowly closed his eyes.

"Forgive me father, I am not a war god like you. I have lost my first two battles already. But I will still strive to be like you. To make sure I am never defeated again, and I'll make sure those who ridicule your name, would not be spared from my blade!" Hael gave a promise burning out from his soul, before closing his eyes, about to take a sleep when suddenly the voice rang in his head.

[Try breathing like you do when cultivating. It should help you slowly recover your Mana, as you sleep...] The system suddenly advised as Hael furrowed his eyebrows, but regaining his mana truly wouldn't harm him.

So he closed his eyes, making sure to breathe through his mouth and nose.

Slowly, the dark particles of dark Mana began appearing in the room, entering into Hael's nose as he drifted to sleep, and with every inhalation of Mana, his wounds healed even faster with a speed that would have deeply shocked Captain Aelia...

Through the silence of night, he slept on the bed, clothed in the garments of dark Mana energy, his soft snore ringing throughout the room... The path to the top is hard and fraught with danger, but he was willing to walk it to the very end. Because he had just too much that was placed on his shoulder. He had too many people hoping on him, and so many people who believed in him, hoping for his return one day...
