Infinity in the Void – Freedom in the Abyss

Hunter’s Fun

The Undead is an interesting subject in biology and spiritualogy, like how can a body move post-mortem or how ghosts can appear?

I know it is because of Imprints - the traces of Life - but the way humanity made to deal with it is interesting. Aqua regia gold mixture comes into place, it has a special effect on the Undead besides being an acid, it is the key component to create holy water. The chloroauric acid in the holy water can cleanse Imprints, effectively killing an Undead due to gold being very stable and disrupting the spiritual aspect of the Undead.

Though its effectiveness varies with the type of Undead.

Zombie or the scientific term, Reanimated Corpse, can be killed by splashing a vial of holy water onto it. A Ghost would need a spray bottle or aspergillum in the old days.

A Wraith or Ghoul needs a full bucket of holy water. But a well-placed silver bullet can take out a Ghoul or destroy the object the Wraith is attached to.

As for a Revenant, which is a Wraith possessing its original body which had turned into a Ghoul, that's a bit difficult with holy water so people just opted for pure aqua regia and chloroauric acid mixture, giving it a good dose should do the trick.

Unless the Revenant is performing some sort of ritual dance that dodges every one of Gale's attacks. But at the same time, Gale is still testing the water.

"Do you any help?", I asked.

"Nah, I got this.", he replied, dodging a spear thrust.

"Just to let you know, once the sun is down I'll go in.", I can kill that thing in three seconds max.

"Okay!", then he successfully stabbed his glass knife into the chest of the Luz Mala, injecting it with aqua regia. But that only made it reeled and become more aggressive and not slowing down at all.

You need to destroy the object it is attached to in order to kill it. He knows that already.

The spear stabbed straight into his chest, but that was just an afterimage. Gale appeared behind it, giving it two more doses of aqua regia.

For Hunters, especially normal humans, equipment is the most important thing as it gives them an edge against supernatural monsters. For Gale, his outfit is made of Erebus' Wings, giving him the power of teleportation where the is darkness.

Despite its name, Erebus' Wings have nothing to do with the god Erebus, its a type of fabric weaved from an Arachne Spider.

I turn back, and there is already an accident. Some students cracked open a boulder of obsidian and wad dumb enough to glide their hands on it, resulting in their hands being covered in blood.

Mitsuki came over and performed some first-aid to help them. So they are out of the exploration group.

Francis is discussing things with some students, mostly complaining about my actions. She's stuck here with me and has a lot on the line. I am the student's only guide, if I and Mitsuki just dipped then they are effectively stranded in this forest.

There is a reason why I didn't teach them proper navigation, after all.

Weighing options, something so familiar to a queen. I hope she places the students before herself, and me before them.

Am I evil? A strong maybe. I just like to have fun with whatever time I have left.

I took out a cigarette and lit it up, relaxing my mind.

=0=0=

The sun had set and the battle was still raging on, the Luz Mala was pretty battered while Gale was showing signs of being tired. They did fight for three hours after all.

I lifted Ouroboros Omniscia, and the thrusters opened up and ignited.

"Damn, time's up already?", he sighed, "Well, it's all yours then."

Then he vanished in a puff of black smoke. Then I came in and smashed the Luz Mala in the chest with my coffin, then pinned it down with the bottom on its chest.

The thrusters became louder as they went to full capacity.

BOOOM!!!

And the lazer sliced the Luz Mala in half. The light from its eyes snuffed out quickly after that.

Five seconds, it took three seconds to fire. I should've shot the spears instead.

"You want to collect the treasure?", I asked Gale.

He stepped out from a mist of darkness, "Nah, I got enough for this run. You can have whatever that one is connected to."

"So, where do you plan to go next?", my eyes trace the hill of roots.

"Probably Bolivia, I can't go into Brazil because, you know.", he shrugged.

"Then how about camping with us?", I motioned over to the camp, "Tell stories about your adventures, you certainly have more than me."

"Being on the sea all day has its cons, heh.", he took a jab at me.

"Ghost stories are better than me making poems alone on the ocean.", I shrugged with a smile.

"Hah... I'm really tired.", he sat down on the ground, "Then, is this really the entrance to El Dorado?"

"Yup, one of many.", I stated, "It's like True Arcadia."

"Oh...", he understood immediately.

He laid down on the ground, putting his hat on his face, "Don't mind me, just going for a nap."

With that, I came to inspect the root hill, using Survive to calculate the location of the object connected to the Luz Mala.

Ah, found it.

With a kick, I destroyed most of the wood, but they are... oddly hard. I still destroy them easily, but they are harder than a hundred-year-old tree.

Using Justice Mist, I dug up something interesting. A gold fragment the size of my thumb etched with half the symbol of... a tower spiraling up to the clouds.

Why do I feel like I've encountered this symbol before?

Then the accursed blue screen appeared by my side.

[ :) ]

Fuck.

"Why are you here?", I grumbled.

No response... this will get messy real fast.

"Utopia, check the time dilation inside El Dorado.", I commanded.

He responded instantly, "[The time inside El Dorado is 0.01 faster than your location, Your Highness. It appears that this is a Dungeon.]"

"What about the symbol of a tower piercing the clouds? Does that remind you of anything?", I ask further.

"[That is the symbol of The World Border, Your Highness.]", he replied.

Well, things just got more interesting.

A Dungeon, and also Spire, is a phenomenon created by The World Border, another dimension to say the least. And the country with the most Dungeon is Korea, numbering hundreds, while outside of it there are few in between. The only other Dungeon known is Minos Labyrinth in Greece.

Huh, Greece has a lot of shit going for it.

I head back to the camp, seeing Gale sitting with the students around the campfire, telling stories about his adventures to them.

"Yo, Sinclaire!", he called me over, "Wanna tell them about some stories?"

"Well, I killed a crystal whale in the Pacific Ocean.", I shrugged, "Ramming it with my ship and all that jazz. Nothing too interesting."

Then I walk away, not interested in this kind of subject. I headed over to Mitsuki, she was playing on her phone on top of a tree.

I gave her that phone so she has a connection to Utopia's network. Plus I can charge any phone with my electricity.

I hopped onto the tree.

"Who are you messaging?", I asked, leaning over.

"Ah! Just my handler, he got some missions for me but I explained that I'm unavailable right now!", she tried to hug me.

But I leaned back to avoid her, and she slipped.

"Owoah!!", I catched her hand and pulled her up..

"Don't try that ever again.", I stated with a smile.

"I just want to hug you!!", she whined, "Can't I do that?"

"Not now.", I shook my head, "We have something to talk about."

I threw my phone right into the head of a spying ghost warrior, and then I summoned it back and pocketed it.

"According to Utopia's finding, El Dorado is a Dungeon. So, do you want to explore a Dungeon with me?", I showed her my wicked grin.

"Ooh! Are we sneaking out tonight?! A girls' night out?!!", she was getting increasingly excited.

"Yes, my friend.", I nodded.

A Dungeon is way more dangerous than a simple ruin.

Well, I am here to have fun.
