Chapter 95: Leopard-Eared Loli, I'm Quite the Name-Giver
As Chen Daoxuan's voice fell, a golden talisman materialized out of thin air before his outstretched finger. Profound patterns adorned the talisman, faintly hinting at the intertwining of two great paths. Upon the talisman, the characters "Bestow" and "Sentience" gradually took shape.
Once the talisman fully materialized, it drifted toward the thunderous phantom, coming to rest on its forehead before vanishing slowly.
In response, the lightning phantom began to change gradually.
Chen Daoxuan observed carefully, curious to see how the rules of the thunder tribulation would shape its form. This was, after all, the first time he was employing the bestowed ability he had comprehended from the Profound Sky Realm, and he was quite intrigued.
In just a moment, the thunderous phantom transformed into the likeness of a leopard. It began to solidify, flesh and blood gradually taking form.
"Wait a moment, why would I want a leopard? I wanted a person, someone capable of communication! How can I interact deeply with a leopard? I don't even understand 'leopard language,' I only know 'leopard print'!"
Chen Daoxuan was initially taken aback, then furrowed his brows in realization. Seizing the opportunity before the form fully solidified, he quickly communicated his thoughts into the process of bestowing.
As he did, the process of bestowing began to shift. The previously clear image of the leopard gradually transformed, its physique shifting toward a human form.
Finally, a diminutive figure, curled up as if in slumber, began to take shape. Faintly visible breaths caused Chen Daoxuan to discern slight movements of the chest, as if it were breathing.
Amidst the flickering electrical light, the process of bestowing continued, flesh and blood forming to give birth to intelligence. "Hmm?"
Chen Daoxuan rubbed his chin, his gaze transfixed on the figure before him. However, something seemed off.
Something wasn't quite right!
Wasn't he asking for a person? Then why did it have leopard ears and a tail? Or was it a tail...? It seemed too long. Annoyance crept into Chen Daoxuan's thoughts.
Amidst the electrical light, he could only make out vague contours.
After a while, the lightning dissipated, revealing a weak, small figure, curled up as if peacefully sleeping.
"Beast… Beast-Eared Loli!?"
Upon getting a clearer view, Chen Daoxuan couldn't help but exclaim.
Dammit, somehow he'd managed to create something extraordinary inadvertently!
Originally, he just wanted a humanoid form, but through some twist of fate, he had accidentally turned the thunder tribulation into a beast-eared loli!
That long thing indeed matched his initial speculation—it was a tail, not something strange…
"Tsk. The ears and the tail, with leopard patterns even! A leopard-patterned loli. Dammit, both are great on their own, but put together, it just looks weird!"
Chen Daoxuan observed the leopard-eared and -tailed loli before him, muttering under his breath.
And it seemed his voice roused her from slumber.
The little loli lifted her soft, tender hand, rubbed her eyes, and blinked her hazy eyes open, letting out a sleepy yawn. It was only then that Chen Daoxuan noticed the incredibly sharp, menacing little fangs in her mouth. No, not fangs—leopard fangs…
The young loli's pupils were distinct, resembling those of a beast. Following this, she lightly sniffed with her small nose, then turned her gaze toward Chen Daoxuan.
"Uh, hello there!"
Caught under the gaze of the little loli, Chen Daoxuan momentarily struggled to find the right words. He could only manage a smile and wave as a greeting.
"Um…"
The little loli made a chirping sound and leaped directly into Chen Daoxuan's arms, nuzzling her furry leopard ears against him.
"Wait a moment. Let's put on some clothes first…"
Taken aback by the suddenness of the situation, Chen Daoxuan quickly realized that the newly-formed loli was entirely naked. He swiftly spent a few system points to exchange for appropriately-sized clothing in the store.
Choosing a set, he covered the loli's body, then carried her to a nearby pavilion.
He noticed the loli sniffing at the clothes, even nibbling on them with her mouth. Clearly, she had no idea how to wear them. Chen Daoxuan sighed in frustration, discarding the clothes she had bitten, then carefully dressed her in another set.
Thankfully, everyone, including Chi Yun, had already fainted earlier, and Chen Daoxuan had temporarily transported them into the Heavenly Dao Hall. Only he, the loli, and the Dao Enlightenment Tea Tree remained.
"What's your name?"
Chen Daoxuan looked at the loli, who was still examining the clothes, and asked softly.
"Meow, name? I don't have a name… Meow… Master, help, give me a name!"
The loli blinked, furrowing her brow. She had no idea what her name should be. She only knew that the person before her had granted her life and sentience—she recognized him as her master.
After responding to her master, the loli looked at him expectantly, eager for a name of her own. But for some reason, she couldn't resist rubbing against him. Fearless and impulsive, she longed for a name.
However, Chen Daoxuan wasn't stopping her, instead focusing intently on finding the perfect name.
The loli, content, nuzzled her little head against her master's hand, her joyful tail wagging nonstop.
"Choosing a name, I'm actually quite good at that. What do you think of the name 'Little Leopard'?"
Chen Daoxuan's tone grew serious upon hearing the loli's request. He then expressed his confidence in the name.
Hearing the name, the loli's movements stiffened. Though she had only recently gained sentience, she could still sense that the name seemed somewhat hasty.
"Oh? You don't like it? Well then, how about 'Little White,' 'Little Black,' 'Little Gold Leopard,' or 'Little Flower,' 'Little Wei'?"
Understanding the loli's sentiment, Chen Daoxuan thoughtfully considered and listed a string of names.
"Meow… Wow!!!"
Upon hearing the series of uninspiring names from her master, the loli's stiff expression crumbled. She tilted her head back and began to cry uncontrollably.
"Hey, hey, why are you crying? Don't cry. Geez, are the names I came up with really that bad? Don't cry. When your senior sister wakes up later, we'll have her help come up with a name. She can provide some guidance.
"Sigh... Darn it, it seems even I have shortcomings within the Heavenly Dao Pavilion's Domain!"
Witnessing her distress, Chen Daoxuan panicked, quickly rubbing the loli's head to soothe her. He couldn't help but feel a bit wronged. Were his name ideas really that terrible?
Although the loli's crying had ceased, occasional sniffles persisted. She had been genuinely frightened by the names her master had given her.
Even as the two stared at each other in silence, their expectations intertwining, the great hall suddenly came alive. Leng Yanran and Li Yourong, both displaying fearful expressions, rushed out, followed closely by Chi Yun, who was respectfully trailing behind.
"Master! You're not injured, are you? Disciple is useless, fainting at such a crucial moment!"
