Isekai Hotel

Chapter 34 – Raising employee levels.

Nazuna chose to go home to rest, and Nahida was left with Lucky in the hotel to look after all the customers. Unfortunately, all the customers were just ordinary people; none of them were characters Nahida knew.

He attended to all the customers as respectfully as possible and served the food prepared by Lucky to all of them. Lucky's food had already won over all the guests.

'He's perfect.' Nahida entered the kitchen to get the last two dishes for his customers. When he arrived in the kitchen, Lucky was sitting on a chair.

After finishing cooking, Lucky sat down and started reading a book he'd found in the hotel.

"Why are you reading this? I bought this book almost a year ago but I've never read it. Looks boring... I bought it on impulse."

"It's a bit of fun. The girl has a very good personality despite her rather below-average appearance."

"What?"

"It's how the author described her, it's not my fault."

"Right... Right... You can continue reading and resting; We don't have any more customers to attend to. Unless some of them ask for something else to eat." The portions Nahida served at his hotel were generous, so the customers probably wouldn't ask for more food.

Nahida took the two plates to the last occupied table and handed them to the two men sitting down.

"Thank you."

"Thank you very much."

The two old men thanked him and then began to enjoy their food. Nahida wiped the sweat from his brow and took the tray into the kitchen. The kitchen sink was full, so Nahida washed the plates to make Lucky's job a little easier for tomorrow.

Lucky could do that, but Nahida thought it would be good to help him. But he's a robot. Does he need help?

He probably doesn't get tired.

'He has no reason to rest.' But even so, Nahida would feel bad for making him work so hard and without rest. Even though he's a robot, he's like a real person.

Nahida thinks he would break some labor laws if he let Lucky overwork himself. ( And that was pretty stupid of him. )

####

After all the customers were served, it was time for bed. It was pretty late, probably midnight, but even so, Nahida wasn't feeling too tired.

So he took advantage of all the customers asleep to open up his system and make some upgrades. He now had ten rooms, so he didn't think he needed any more at the moment.

"Let's have a look. I can increase the bedrooms, the reception, the 'dining room', and even my own room. And... I can increase the quality of the beds even more." New upgrades had been unlocked.

After Nahida reached level 15, he could further increase the quality of the beds in his hotel and the water quality.

"Is that really possible? The water is already perfect..." But if the system has allowed him to upgrade, the water can get even better.

However, the upgrade that caught his eye the most was an upgrade for Lucky. Yes, it was an upgrade for one of his employees. Nahida didn't think something like this would be possible; it was pretty interesting.

[ Lucky ]

[ Level 1 cook ]

He could raise Lucky's level.

"Apparently Lucky will be able to make different kinds of dishes and the taste of the food will also improve. His food is already very tasty, if he improves even more he could become the best cook in the world."

However, the upgrade was expensive. Nahida would have to spend 500 points, and he only had 830 points. However, he thought it would be good to give this upgrade now as he had many clients staying at his hotel.

Giving them a first-class breakfast tomorrow would make them loyal customers.

"Right. Lucky, I'm counting on you."

[ Lucky is now a level 2 cook. ]

"Now I only have 330 points to spend. I can increase this area."

Nahida spent the rest of his points to increase the reception and the "dining room" a little more. The reception area had been increased even more than last time, so now he had plenty of space.

"I can put a drinking fountain here, some stools, and maybe a place to put magazines for the customers." A good reception was important. People would only be there briefly, but it was necessary.

"The reception is the first thing a person sees when they enter a hotel, so I have to be very careful. I need some more decorations." But Nahida would leave that for another time.

"I've increased those two areas enough, I'll start upgrading everything else in the hotel and keep buying more rooms. I'll increase the 'dining room' when we have more customers and not enough tables."

Nahida took a shower in the small bathroom in his room and then got ready for bed. Before going to sleep, he closed his hotel door and put a handwritten sign outside.

He didn't know if that sign would appear in all worlds, but he thought it was an excellent idea to let people know that the hotel would only be open again the next day.

Nahida fell asleep and woke the next day to Lucky calling him at his bedroom door. When Nahida came out, he was in for a surprise. Lucky's look had changed.
