Isekai Life as Ōtsutsuki

Chapter 38 – Divine Plot Begins

Warship of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, in Yakou's personal chambers.

Personal chambers of the Crown Prince of the Ōtsutsuki Clan were not as lavish as one would expect from someone of his stature, but they still provided a sense of luxury.

It was simple, devoid of any decorations that other people of similar status enjoyed, but contained only the best products that the Ōtsutsuki Clan could provide.

Yakou was right now drinking Longjing tea that Kirihara provided and brewed as they enjoyed some time of peace.

They managed to successfully secure a relatively important planet for the further expansion of the Ōtsutsuki Clan and even capture the Divine Emissary of the Evil God Pantheon. For this, they surely managed to secure a lot of Contribution Points to the Clan.

"Where are those two idiots?"

She asked, annoyed because, after the fight, the two Werewolves continued sparring aboard of their ship.

"In the training room sparring..."

He sighed as he answered.

"At least they are not bothering us with their mess..."

Fortunately, the training room was soundproof and armed with several kinds of seals that prevented the battle from being heard through the entire ship.

"I have to say that this trip was very fruitful... and we got even to see the space in its glory."

It was rare that Yakou got the opportunity to leave Planet Tengoku, as his mother wasn't very keen on letting him leave Planet Tengoku. Only after he reached peak combat prowess of Tier 2 and after some persuasion could he leave the planet to complete some missions.

"You are progressing much faster; how long do you think you would need to reach Saint Realm?"

Kirihara asked him as they were drinking tea in silence. She wasn't a socially most apt person, and most of their meetings were... one could say weird?

"Even after all these years, you are very awkward if you want to say something but can't bring yourself to it."

While Yakou didn't let it out often, he was pretty observant about people around him... it was not an ability that he was born with, but rather, he had learned how to read people, as it wasn't that hard thing to do.

The only one thing that person needed was to be observant enough and capable of noticing even the smallest details, changes in behavior or expressions and so on.

He was very good at it, and due to that, he was easily able to tell if someone was lying to him or if someone was hiding something.

Hearing that, she frowned at his bluntness, but Yakou was always good at shocking people and he didn't like the flowery speech and dancing around topics. Not talking about the side effects of his speech, which would always throw someone out of his train of thought.

Yakou barely remembered things about his past life, even with the perfect memory he had... during the passing decades, his mind was instinctually pushing out most of his memories as human because he lost an attachment to them a long time ago.

Even in his first life, Yakou didn't care about the morals of humanity and strictly believed in the survival off the fittest.

No matter how the "advanced" the human civilization pretended to be and no matter how "sympathetic" and "moral" they played like actors, the survival of the fittest still penetrated through society.

Just like everything, it evolved into something new and something else.

In the age where everyone was spouting bullshit about equality and other nonsensical things that everyone knew deeply that was just a load of dragon dung, there still existed people superior and people inferior.

People who were rich, talented, physically beautiful, or powerful who would be naturally superior to those who were poor, without any particular talent or skill, those who were considered ugly according to standards of beauty, and so on...

Such was cruel human nature.

At least in the past, everyone was straightforward about it, but now they were hiding it behind the veil of things like equality and other fairy tales.

Homo homini lupus est... such was the fundamental truth of human society, and the sole reason why humans adjusted to morals was to prevent the extinction of their very own species.

Even though Yakou lived as one of the inferior people, who were often obvious to the truth, he still believed in the ideas of social Darwinism and survival of the fittest. Due to that, he didn't have a problem adjusting to the mentality of the Ōtsutsuki Clan even after he was reborn.

"Yes, I wanted, but I don't know how to approach the topic."

Kirihara said after a short time of consideration, but Yakou gave her her time to think over what she wanted.

Meanwhile, Kirihara looked at Yakou as she started thinking about the words her mother she said to her. While she appreciated that they were not rushing their relationship, at the same time, she felt that her fianceé wasn't very interested in pursuing their relationship.

Often she got the feeling that Yakou was only doing his duty to the Clan, and their entire relationship was built just on that.

Naturally, she was also aware that she wasn't an ideal partner because she was too either ignoring it entirely or just forcing him to accompany her on some dates. Yakou could see that she was deciding between something and that she was very nervous about it.

For the benefit of the doubt, he decided to just focus on drinking his Longjing tea in peace as he enjoyed the unique flavor and the effects of the tea on his soul. It was a precious type of tea, which was good for the enlightenment and comprehension of Dao.

Naturally, it was something that only a privileged among the entire Clan could drink. The thing was only growing on one special Super High-Level Planet that had a special kind of Nature Energy where the Longjing grew.

There it was harvested and directly brought to the vaults of the Clan.

Normally it was drank only by high-ranking members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.

As he was drinking his Longjing tea, he didn't notice that Kirihara stood from her place and kissed Yakou on his lips as soon as he put down his tea cup.

She was passionate in her kiss after she overcame her initial shyness because she found out that she couldn't really convey what she wanted with words, so she did it with her actions.

After his initial shock, Yakou returned her kiss, which made Kirihara happier a bit, as she continued the battle for dominance that was taking place between them.
