Detachment!
"Hmmm....so prince Cain is in prison now. And that tea leaves are compensation."
Under the cozy blanket laid an exceptionally charming couple consisting of a handsome blond youth and a young silver-haired otherworldly beauty.
The sun hadn't risen behind the curtains, signifying that dawn was still far away.
The chillness of November has made it necessary for one to have covered at night, but looking at the couple, there seemed to be no need for blankets to warm them up.
With her head resting on Austin's well-built chest, Luna's hands were draped lazily as she enjoyed the early morning warmth of her beloved.
With her eyes closed in sleepiness, she narrated the whole event which occurred a week or so ago in the reception hall. Her curiosity lay in the reaction Austin would give upon hearing First Prince's attempt toward her.
But contrary to Luna's expectation, Austin stayed silent for several seconds, which in turn made Luna worried before she parted her lids and supported her chin on his upper body.
"What are you thinking?"
Austin seemed to be in a stupor as hearing Luna's call; he hurriedly pulled his gaze to her with a soft smile spreading on his lips.
"Nothing much... Ah, that reminds me."
Luna wasn't unfamiliar with the man. The way he shifted the flow of conversation and stole his gaze away told her how uncomfortable he got to hear about the incident. Even slightly, she could feel his hold on her tightening as he spoke in a rushed tone.
"Did you find anything on the demon responsible for these peculiar mana-suppressing artifacts? This teaching and returning home kept me quite busy these days."
There were many incidences which has proven that, unlike in the past, demons have started cooperating with humanity for some uncertain reason.
Many, like Austin, had knowledge that demons are bound with their Liege, mainly known as Monarch of Darkness, Demon Lord. Them betraying their master and serving their nemesis was a frightening discovery in itself.
This not only increased the level of Demon's reach but also gave a sense of cautiousness on whom to trust or from whom to be wary.
"I did get some clue but not much. I have to investigate through my sources and see where this goes."
Replied with a sigh; Luna fell on Austin once again as she didn't like how such a small matter was getting prolonged day after day.
She has a hunch that every human involved with Underworld, whether the student of Eden Academy or the ex-hero of Xylex, has been in contact with a singular existence.
But until she doesn't get the full proof evidence, she can't play her cards and dig that mole out of its hole.
"Then there is a labyrinth too. I doubt that there is something in there we should be worried about. But there's a hassle about mana restriction."
Austin also sighed at the weird feeling he suffered inside, which was still vivid in his mind, and before things got ugly on the land, he wanted to clear the mystery of the labyrinth.
There was a brief silence in the room as the two understood that in order to accomplish these two goals, they had to go separate ways.
Luna was a remarkable mage, no doubt, but inside the labyrinth required more combat work. And as for investigation, Luna hasn't really told Austin about all of her secrets, and neither does he ask.
Austin knew when the time come, she would tell him everything. But the essence remains in their detachment once again, even though they just met.
With her eyes tightly closed, Luna hugged him even more rigidly as she didn't like the idea, yet she understood why this was important.
Knowing well how Luna was feeling at the moment, Austin smiled in defeat as he patted the sulky Saintess' head softly.
"Once we get free from all these...let's go on a vacation, okay?"
Luna instantly shot up her head before glaring at Austin despite her heart being lighted up with joy.
"Not vacation but honeymoon..."
Luna poked his chest with a pout to warn her husband about the slip of words.
Seeing such an adorable gesture, Austin couldn't help but grin as he replied while rubbing her head.
"Hai. It will be our honeymoon."

Nearly at six, when a cold wisp of breeze was howling around the vicinity, stood a beautiful woman in her early twenties swinging her blade toward particularly nothing.
Her build was tall and lean but well-proportioned. Along with a warrior's physique, the woman had the charm a female dreams of having.
As sweat dripped down her chin, the woman readied herself to take the sharp slash bisecting the falling leaf in front. But before she could have moved, an incredibly familiar voice came from her behind.
"As diligent as ever, huh, little sister."
Saya's eyes widened as, after a week, she became extremely anxious about her beloved's well-being, and suddenly, hearing his voice made her flustered.
Dropping her blade, Saya turned on her heels before her eyes found the image they sought desperately.
"Onii-sama...!"
It seemed Saya was about to embrace her big brother, but soon her excitement subdued as she held herself back.
Austin made a puzzled expression before he spoke in an unsure tone.
"What happened? No longer want big brother's hug?"
Saya slowly shook her head with her eyes tightly shut before she confessed something embarrassing even though they had met after so long.
"I am sweaty right now, Onii-sama. Once I freshen up, please hug me for a long while."
Saya could never reject her Onii-sama, but in her current state, she might give him an unpleasant experience, so she should endure for now.
But little did she think her Onii-sama would be so bold and unfair to attack her without warning.
With his hand on her back, Austin draped Saya's head on his chest as he patted the silly little girl before scolding her.
"When did you become so formal with me? You used to see me at my worst when I used to get sick often, and now you are getting conscious of such trivial things? Oh lord...what I will do with this child."
Saya's face flushed to the point where steam started erupting over her as she hid by snuggling close in her brother's warmth.
After the touching reunion, they separated as Austin asked about the past days, which Saya reported without fabrication.
They chatted for almost half an hour as Austin came to know Kyouki's progressive development and the information related to the thing he asked Saya to keep an eye on.
"Well, since it's an hour before the cafeteria opens, why don't we have a spar or two in the meantime?"
Saya's eyes lit up instantly as she raised her hand and called out her sword through summoning. Sparring with her brother was one of the things she had yet to try, and when there was a chance, she wouldn't let it go.
'I hope I don't disappoint Onii-sama.'
