It’s Scary When Things Work Out

Chapter 12: The Skill…

My breathing caught, and then a great deal of pain came over me. I couldn't catch my breath, and my inner panic was growing. As I held onto my stomach and tried to breathe, I felt someone pull back the hood on me. Grabbing me by the hair and pulling me back, there was no time to resist.

In front of my eyes, however, it was frantic, chaotic and overwhelming.

Soon I had some relief, and finally took a breath. The man who was holding my hair pulled me somewhere and let go. From the corner of my eye, I saw that I was dragged to the center of the room where all the participants were standing. At this time, there were also women among them who were talking and laughing as they looked at me.

While I was lying on the ground in pain and wondering what to do, suddenly the familiar folding knife that I had given to the girl fell in front of my eyes. Finally seeing it, I looked at the girl. At this time, she was clearly talking to the other three friends. "Look, look how naive she is hehe." There was contempt in that girl's eyes as she looked at me. At this time, a voice appeared beside me. "So, what did you want to do with that knife?" The man squatted down next to me and asked with a smirk. I still couldn't speak properly, as it was hard to breathe. I just looked at him and wondered what he was going to do.

"Ah, I think I hit too hard. Hehe, but I like your eyes full of anger."

Yes, he was right to say that since I was in a rage at the moment. I wanted to help, but I was too naive to believe the girl was scared. Now all I need is a chance to end everyone in this room. The man with the gun sat near the bar in the distance and watched what was going on. He was the main target. If he could get the gun, it would be the end of everybody.

The man squatting in front of me seemed to stop messing with me. He grabbed me by the hair again and dragged me toward one of the rooms, saying as he went, "Alright, I'll have my fun with her and you guys stay out of the way. I want to teach this bitch a lesson."

I feigned faint resistance as I realized the opportunity had arrived. Soon I was dragged into the room and thrown to the ground, and turned to close the door. At this time, I cautiously began to back away, showing a frightened look. He didn't take his eyes off me the whole time; that's why I was pretending. Closing the door, he walked toward me step by step. "Now sharpen up when and you're going to beg me," he said, speaking as he pulled off his T-shirt and tossed it to the side.

"Don't come in here, I... don't..." I was still pretending, but I was gradually becoming calmer since he was clearly underestimating me. Luckily, the knife didn't fall out of my sleeves when he hit me. Clearly feeling the cold blade, I only needed a moment's chance to cross the line. Watching him come closer and closer, I feigned panic and waited until he was close enough.

Looking behind him, I acted as if there was something behind him. As it turned out, he was suspicious too and instinctively looked back.

As soon as he made that move, I stopped pretending abruptly and stood up towards him. Due to my skills, the knife ended up in my right hand. The other side seemed to hear my movements and immediately attempted to turn back. However, there was no hesitation due to what had happened before. The knife plunged straight into the man's throat, while my other hand covered his mouth and pushed him back.

We both fell to the ground due to the momentum, but I still held onto the knife. As it fell, the knife went deeper. His eyes widened at that moment, and fear was clearly reflected on his face. At that moment, his hand darted towards my face, intending to strike. But unlike the previous time, I clearly saw it coming. I released his hand and leaned back, avoiding his blow. Before he could react, I kicked the knife directly.

The sound was clearly audible. I watched as he struggled, trying to do something subconsciously. He opened his mouth in an attempt to scream, but instead, blood gushed out. Gradually, his frantic movements started to slow down as he panicked and tried to do something out of fear.

I observed the whole process, realizing that I had crossed a line I would never have crossed in the past. But now, when it happened, I immediately calmed down. Just when I doubted my mental health, a notification caught my eye.

Announcement
[Acquired new skill (Cold-blooded)]

Surprised, I quickly opened the description to understand. And I understood why I suddenly became so calm.

Announcement

Skill Name: Cold-Bloodedness

Level: 1

Description: You possess the basic ability to maintain composure and control your emotions in stressful situations. You do not succumb to panic and are capable of making rational decisions.

Quickly closing the skill description, I stood up and approached the body. Without hesitation, the knife was drawn again, and my eyes turned to the door. I don't know if it was noisy or not, but it seems there won't be another opportunity.

Approaching the door, I was ready, but there was no movement behind it for a long time.

Now I need to quickly take the gun from the man's hands. I need to do something.

Recalling the distance from the door to the bar where he was sitting, he might draw the gun before I reach him. But how do I kill him? It's difficult to answer.

Looking around, I saw a chair in the corner of the room. I could try throwing the chair while running. But it's not certain if I'll be able to.

While I was thinking, suddenly, moans from the man and woman in the adjacent room became audible. They were doing it quite loudly.

It seems like the best moment to leave. While I can open the door, their moans will attract minimal attention.

Taking a small chair, I approached the door again. Carefully crouching down, I opened it and looked through the opening, cautiously stepping forward.

It seems like luck was on my side. At that moment, I could see the bar counter where the man was still drinking and doing something on his phone.

Chance, the word echoed in my mind. I quickly opened the door and walked towards him, keeping an eye on my surroundings.

Breathlessly, the man and woman fell into each other's arms, passionately kissing. The man's hand was in intimate places, caressing.

She was the woman I wanted to help, and seeing her now only intensified my internal rage.

But ignoring them, I headed towards the man who was still looking at his phone. The other men were not visible, but right now, the most important thing is to get the weapon.

Approaching closer, I noticed a man seemingly whispering to someone through a video call, his attention oblivious to what was happening around him.

Carefully placing the chair on the ground, holding a knife in hand, with a swift motion, it pierced the man's throat. Simultaneously, the other hand grabbed the pistol resting on the table before him.

The situation left him stunned. Clutching his throat, he fell sideways. As a result, the phone also fell to the floor, but the voice inside did not cease; instead, it grew furious and loud.

Ignoring it, following my instincts, I drew the pistol from its holster. Shiny new cartridges gleamed inside.

Returning it back and pulling the safety catch, the motion was fast and precise. The pistol swiftly turned towards the embracing man and woman, who had just reacted.

The first shot rang out, and before they could respond, a bloody mist enveloped the man's head as he fell sideways.

[Shooting: 5(*100)]

Sitting on the ground, I grabbed the knife by the handle and pulled. Blood gushed out even more intensely, fueling the man's struggle.

Without paying attention, I kept a watchful eye towards the doors. After a moment of consideration, I aggressively fumbled in his pocket. As soon as I heard the sound of the door opening, my hand touched something that brought me great relief.

Taking out an extra magazine of bullets from the man's pocket, I stood up, aiming at the open doors. Doubtfully, a man who recognized me emerged from there.

He was naked and clearly engaged in something indecent. My aim shifted from his head to his leg.

Another shot rang out, and gripping his leg, he fell to the ground, screaming in agony.

Throughout all this, the girl who had been on the couch with the man looked at me in shock and fear.

My target shifted towards her abdomen, and a third shot resounded.

Another scream echoed, followed by another door that had started to open quickly began to close again.

Ignoring the girl, my hand swiftly moved towards that door and pressed the trigger.

The bullet hit the door, passing through it. The door that was supposed to have already closed opened again.

And another man holding a knife fell to the ground with a groan.

But the opened door revealed a different scene. There were four people in this room. One woman and three men, one of whom was the man who greeted me outside the hotel. I remembered his face very well.

But now all these people were in their underwear, looking embarrassed.

They stared at me in horror, but I didn't give them a chance to react. The distance was appropriate. My hand didn't lower, instead, I immediately fired three more shots.

Two immediately fell to the ground in a bloody mist.

And the third, the smoking man, fell while holding his shoulder.

Counting the number of people, I watched their movements. The phone that the man with the gun was speaking into was still screaming, but I kept moving forward, ignoring it.

For some reason, I felt a momentary refreshing sensation. Everyone who was lying down and holding onto their wounded spots was screaming.

As I passed by the girl who turned out to be a mere imposter, i aimed the gun at the other side of her head and pressed the trigger, but the expected shot didn't occur. After thinking for a moment, I realized that I had fired seven shots. There was no time to assess how many rounds were left in the magazine. Under her frightened eyes and loud voice, I slowly removed the empty magazine.

Then I inserted another one before aiming the gun at her again.

A shot rang out amidst her terrified scream.

Step by step, I approached the people who had caused so much pain to Eleanor and trouble to me.

Now they were horrified, staring at me while simultaneously trying to move back.

Once again, a hand reached out, and the man who had been holding his side and had previously opened the door received a bullet straight to the head.

Only two people remained.

Looking at them, I spoke.

"Shall we play?"
