I’ve already become a titled Douluo, and only now the system arrives?

Chapter 21: Tang San’s Request

Chapter 21: Tang San's Request

"Is there something you two need?"

Zhao Wuji furrowed his brows as he looked at the two figures who had appeared.

"I am She-Po, disturbing you," the old lady introduced herself as She-Po, clutching a snake-headed cane in her hand.

Six soul rings appeared beneath her feet.

"She-Po She-Tianxiang?"

"My apologies," Zhao Wuji said, raising his eyebrows and then bowing slightly in greeting.

He hadn't expected that this old lady was the famed She-Po from the legendary Dragon-Snake duo.

Despite She-Po's Soul Saint status, her partner, Long Gong, was an incredibly powerful Soul Douluo. Rumors said that when the Dragon-Snake couple combined their martial souls, they could even compete with titled Douluo.

More importantly, Long Gong and She-Po were almost always together. She-Po's presence here made Zhao Wuji certain that Long Gong must be nearby.

But Zhao Wuji was not one to be intimidated just by reputation.

"May I know your name?" asked She-Po.

"I am Zhao Wuji," he replied with a grin, revealing seven soul rings around him.

"A Soul Saint?"

"Zhao Wuji?"

She-Po's pupils contracted suddenly, surprised to meet such a formidable opponent: "So, you are the immovable Vajra, Zhao Wuji. My apologies for the oversight."

She-Po slightly bowed, leaning on her cane.

Beside her, Meng Yiran opened her mouth slightly in surprise.

She hadn't expected to encounter a Soul Saint level expert just by chance in the Star Dou Great Forest.

Zhao Wuji simply nodded slightly, choosing not to speak further.

She-Po quickly understood Zhao Wuji's silence: "Frankly, we came here for the Phoenix-tailed Cockatrice Snake in your possession. Could you possibly let us have it?"

"We've been tracking this soul beast for a long time. It's quite cunning," she added with a wry smile.

Let them have it?

The request took everyone by surprise.

"Teacher Zhao," Oscar was somewhat anxious. He had done his homework and knew that the Phoenix-tailed Cockatrice Snake was an excellent match for him and naturally didn't want it taken away.

"This beast is nearly at death's door. It's like a duck ready for the taking."

"You see, my student also needs this soul beast. I'm very sorry, but we cannot yield," Zhao Wuji stated firmly.

"Grandma," Meng Yiran couldn't help but tug at She-Tianxiang's sleeve.

"Brother Zhao, there's a matter of first come, first served. We saw this soul beast first," She-Po spoke up.

"If you step back, consider it a favor owed to me and my husband."

"Sorry, Old Woman, but a suitable soul beast is hard to come by. I can't step back," Zhao Wuji remained unyielding.

"Fine, fine, fine!" She-Po laughed: "It seems we've been away from the mainland too long. Many have forgotten what the Dragon-Snake duo stands for."

She slammed her cane on the ground, raising a cloud of dust. Was she about to make a move?

Zhao Wuji braced himself, realizing that a confrontation was inevitable.

Even his companions, like Ma Hongjun and Oscar, sensed the gravity of the situation.

"Let's go, Yiran," She-Po said unexpectedly, choosing to retreat.

What was happening?

Everyone was shocked.

"My pants... ugh."

Zhao Wuji was stunned. "I was ready for battle, and she just walks away?"

"Grandma."

Even Meng Yiran didn't understand her grandmother's sudden change of heart.

"Let's find your grandfather first," said She-Po decisively.

Reluctantly, Meng Yiran agreed.

"Teacher, what just happened?" Oscar asked, confused.

Zhao Wuji glanced at Qin Xiao and then advised Oscar, "Don't worry about it. Just absorb the soul ring of this beast quickly. We can't delay."

Oscar approached with his blade.

Elsewhere, She-Po and Meng Yiran stopped after walking a distance.

"Grandma, why did we back down? You could have messaged Grandpa to come quickly," Meng Yiran asked, puzzled.

"I was afraid your grandfather wouldn't make it in time," She-Po sighed. "I sensed a powerful aura targeting me. Any rash action could have brought a devastating strike upon me. Avoiding confrontation was the best course."

"Is there someone even you're wary of?"

"The Douluo Continent is vast, and there are countless strong individuals," She-Po shook her head.

Then, both their expressions changed as they looked in a certain direction.

"Your grandfather wants us to join him; he might have found a better target."

"Let's go check it out."

With that, She-Po and Meng Yiran disappeared into the forest.

"Xiao San, what kind of soul beast are you looking for your third soul ring?" Xiao Wu asked Tang San, puzzled. They had been wandering the forest for quite some time, but Tang San still hadn't found his target.

"You know the weakness of Blue Silver Grass; it's too weak. Simply enhancing its toughness is meaningless now. So, I want to take an unconventional approach and hunt a toxic soul beast. If I can infuse Blue Silver Grass with even a slight paralytic toxin, it would make it much more versatile."

"Poisoning the Blue Silver Grass?" Xiao Wu's eyes brightened at Tang San's idea.

"Then let's go," Tang San smiled and nodded.

But Xiao Wu frowned, "What's wrong?"

"Xiao San, someone's coming. Let's hide for now."

"Alright!"

Without hesitation, they hid within the canopy of an ancient tree.

Soon after, a group of people passed below them, talking as they walked.

"What's the deal with Shrek Academy? They actually have a Soul Saint as a teacher? Isn't the dean of our Canghui Academy the only Soul Saint we have?"

"Do you think that young man they call 'Your Highness' is a real Titled Douluo?"

"Are you kidding? He's just a teenager. Have you ever heard of a teenager being a Titled Douluo?"

The students of Canghui Academy discussed among themselves.

However, their team leader, Ye Zhiqiu, was getting frustrated. He couldn't help but rebuke them: "Enough! Do you think this Star Dou Great Forest is your backyard? If you don't want to die, then shut up."

"And if you have so many questions, why don't you go and ask those from Shrek Academy? They're also here in the forest."

Ye Zhiqiu coldly addressed the students of Canghui Academy.

"Ah, forget it."

"What if that Teacher Zhao hits me? I'm a support type; I can't withstand even a couple of slaps."

The students quickly dismissed the idea.

"Then shut up about it and never mention it again," Ye Zhiqiu snorted irritably, limping forward.

The students of Canghui Academy followed closely behind, now cautious not to mention the previous events.

After a while, Tang San and Xiao Wu floated down from the tree, their movements light as if they were ghosts.

"Xiao San, let's go," Xiao Wu said. "I think the Man-Faced Demon Spider would be a good choice for your third soul ring. Let's go find it."

However, Tang San stood still.

"What's wrong, Xiao San?"

"Xiao Wu, can you do me a favor?" Tang San asked seriously.

"What is it? Do we need to say 'please' to each other?"

"I remember you said Da Ming and Er Ming are both over 100,000-year-old soul beasts. I want them to help me deal with Qin Xiao."

"What! Tang San, are you crazy? Even Hao Tian Douluo couldn't defeat Qin Xiao, and Da Ming and Er Ming might not be his match."

"It's not like that," Tang San shook his head calmly. "Remember what I said before? After fighting my father, I believe Qin Xiao must have been injured. Now is the best time to act."

Xiao Wu was still hesitant. She had witnessed Qin Xiao's power and didn't want Da Ming and Er Ming to risk their lives.

"Tang San, I don't want Da Ming and Er Ming to go on a suicide mission. They are the lords of the forest; even if they can't defeat Qin Xiao, they should be able to retreat safely, right?"

"But..."

"Please, Xiao Wu. If Qin Xiao remains alive, having such a powerful enemy out there makes me uneasy."

"Okay," Xiao Wu finally nodded reluctantly. "I'll talk to Er Ming."

Tang San smiled. "That's my Xiao Wu."

Meanwhile, Oscar finally completed his soul ring absorption and began to show off his new soul skill.

With a sleazy chant, a strange-looking sausage appeared in his hand.

"What the heck is this?" Ma Hongjun immediately made a gagging gesture.

Dai Mubai, Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, and others didn't say anything but instinctively stepped back.

"What's the meaning of this?" Oscar's face changed, feeling his pride hurt.

"Now you ignore me, but soon you'll be unable to reach me."

"My third soul skill, Mushroom Sausage. Effect: Flight!"

He watched eagerly for everyone's reactions.

And he got what he wanted.

Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and the others were astonished.

"Damn, give me one to try."

Ma Hongjun reached out to Oscar.

But Oscar gave him a disdainful look, "Get lost. Weren't you the one who reacted the most? Almost puked."

Ma Hongjun: o(╥﹏╥)o.

Oscar sure can hold a grudge.

"Alright, now that the soul ring absorption is done, let's head back," Zhao Wuji clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention.

However, at that moment, Qin Xiao spoke up: "Wait, I have something to do first."
