Jellyfish dragon

Chapter 13: Concealed garden

-"I am the gardener."

The woman spoke in a matter-of-fact tone, her expression still gentle and unyielding like a flowing stream. But hearing this, Tsung Yue was quite befuddled, even if the title the woman had told her had a symbolized meaning, never in her life had she heard something so…mundane.

-"The gardener?"

Tsung Yue repeats in case she heard her wrong. But she didn't.

-"You seem to be uncertain about my title…but that's okay, you can call me Yun Meeren if that suits you more."

Yun Meeren uttered after chuckling at Tsung Yue's confusion. Her gentleness seemed to come from her calmness and tranquility as if she knew a thousand things not many are informed with.

-"Okay, but why…gardener? "All knower" or "The withholder of truths" seems much…fitting if you know how to help me. Forgive me if I'm acting rude, I'm just curious."

-"Ah, I'm so glad you asked! Why gardener, you wonder? The reason is that I grow flowers, flowers of the heart's melodic strings that sing only the truth in my harmonious garden. To add, knowing everything is quite impossible, don't you think? New information is constantly created every single moment that's counted, and I can't keep up with that. Even if I did, I wouldn't be able to meet my favorite dragon in the whole wide world."

Yun Meeren mused gloriously, her every word seemed to have a deeper meaning that could be understood differently by anyone. And that includes Tsung Yue too. Sure, Tsung Yue can express herself using big words and long sentences as well, but there's a sheer difference between Yun Meeren and Tsung Yue, just like the darkest and the brightest shades of the moon. While the words Yun Meeren uses poetically are full of joy and whimsy, Tsung Yue's operation of vocabulary is full of malice and malevolence. The white dragon had a sweet moment to take Yun Meeren's words, then she replied:

"Well, does your garden have the flower that can tell me what to do?"

Tsung Yue insisted, eager to hear Yun Meeren's answer.

-"Well, of course, that's why I am here, Tsung Yue. To help you find the light in the darkness of the mind, and guide you through the truth."

Tsung Yue soon realized that pestering her to tell her what to do would be impossible to get a satisfactory answer, so she decided to wait until Yun Meeren finished her speech, her tail swishing from side to side with boredom.

-"To keep my flowers' purity from sinful eyes, I keep my garden at bay. Not everyone is permitted to enter, but I can make exceptions regarding certain pupils. And you my dear, are worthy of holding one of my creations I took so long to care for. Aren't you special?"

Tsung Yue let out a dry chuckle to humor Yun Meeren, eager for her to continue. But the chuckle was cut short by Hairong who nudged Tsung Yue in her ribs to shut her up.

Sensing the tense atmosphere, Yun Meeren giggled softly to herself, feeling the impatience of Tsung Yue. Must've felt amusing for her.

-"Oh, I am talking too much, forgive me, my dear. I will lead you to my garden now."
