(General P.O.V)
Ra's Al Ghul was the incarnation of a shadow.
Unknown to most and a daunting figure to those strong or influential enough who did.
The Demon's Head meditated in his personal training chambers on Infinity Island, enduring the hot steam that would have boiled any other normal man alive.
His cold green eyes opened just in time to stare at the conspicuously out of place screen, showing one of his underlings, whose upper face and head was covered by a visor with a red optical lens at the front.
"Dr. Roquette has resurfaced, Master and is attempting to track us. That link however is a two way stream. I have her coordinates. She's hiding in Happy Harbor, Rhode Island."
"Who do we have close to that location?" Ra's Al Ghul asked.
"I have a few of our people in mind." The underling humbly replied.
The Demon's Head grunted after hearing the names of their closest agents.
"I have a feeling they won't be enough. Rhode Island is under the Detective's protection."
"What should we do then Master?"
Ra's brows knitted. They couldn't act reckless. Not after Luthor's unexplained disaapearance- an issue that would be addressed in the next meeting.
Regarding Roquette's overdue death, making uncalculated moves close to Mount Justice, the League's former base was unwise. That said, losing the Fog would set back The Light's plans. And the others would blame him.
"Don't concern yourself with Roquette anymore." Ra's instructed in a smooth baritone. "Move on to Star Labs and complete your mission. As for the good doctor and her little helpers, their assured demise will be swift and painful."
"Understood."
The underling nodded and the screen went dark.
Alone, Ra's Al Ghul, gave a signal and several shadows, each one of them elite, appeared out of nowhere.
"You called, Father?" An alluring woman in a skin tight ninja outfit, long black hair and red lips spoke, kneeling infront of Ra's, a hot pool of green water between them. The Shadows with her were as silent as ghosts.
"Talia, how goes your new sister's training?" Ra's demanded and a female Shadow next to Talia stiffened, head slightly tilting upwards. Only for Talia to press her back down lest she lost it.
"Lady Shiva only has praise for her progress."
Talia answered.
"She has learned our teachings, mastered our practices and adjusted to our way of life. No longer Darkseid's Fury, Kara is a full Shadow."
"Good."
Ra's Al Ghul finally smiled, gazing down at said Shadow- An unexpected gift from the Fourth World, Apokalips. A light within his dark empire- his poetic side offered.
"The time for sharpening the axe is over, now she must prove her mettle and dedication to the cause."
"A mission? So soon?"
Talia questioned hesitantly.
Ra's frowned."Do not forget your place daughter."
"My apologies," Talia smoothly remarked, her forehead touching the floor, "Your will is final, your desire my bidding. I'll make sure she succeeds. For the League's honor, for her life's sake and for Ra's Al Ghul's Glory."
"""For the Demon's Head!"""
The Shadows chanted in unison.

-Happy Harbor High school-
The faint glow of computer screens cast an eerie light across the school's computer lab.
Dr. Serling Roquette sat at the center of the room, typing furiously on the keyboard. Sweat trickled down her brow as she muttered to herself, fingers flying over the keys. Behind her, Robin and Aqualad hovered as security.
"Stuck in a high school computer lab trying to save the world from homicidal nanotech and Ninja Assassins. Great. Thanks a lot, Speedy," Roquette complained.
Her words traveled through the team's telepathic link, courtesy of Miss Martian.
"Hey, you're welcome!" Speedy snapped back from the roof. "This place has decent Wi-Fi, doesn't it?"
Jon, standing at the school's main entrance, sighed. "Focus, people. We need to secure the compound before the League of Shadows shows up. Roquette needs time to finish that countermeasure."
"Secure it how?" Artemis asked, perched on a tree with her bow drawn. "With Speedy's charm and Kid's jokes?"
"Careful, newbie," Speedy shot back. "I'm not the one who needs backup to hit a target."
"Guys," Robin groaned. "Can we not do this right now?"
Jon chuckled faintly before addressing the bigger issue. "Alright, let's get something straight. Batman's made it clear I'm not getting my old job back as leader, so we need to figure out who's taking the reins."
Robin was quick to speak. "Not me. I'll co-lead, but that's as far as I go."
"Then it's Aqualad," Jon said firmly, matter of factly, obviously.
Miss Martian's voice chimed in from above the school field, warm with agreement. "Hello Megan! I think that's a great idea."
"No problemo. I like Kaldur. I can listen to Kaldur." Kid Flash added, blitzing across the school's hallways.
Powerboy nodded outside the Computer Lab's door. "Makes sense to me."
Speedy, however, wasn't convinced. "Whoa, hold on. I'm the oldest one here, and this mission was *my* lead to begin with. I found Roquette. I saved her—"
"And you're not even on the team," Artemis snidely interrupted. "You don't get a say red underloos."
Unseen by her, Speedy's eyes narrowed dangerously, but before he could respond, Dr. Roquette's voice cut through their link, dripping with irritation.
"Oh, for the love of—SHUT UP!" she snapped. "I can't think with all this noise in my head!"
Everyone immediately fell silent, chastised.
"Good," Roquette continued. "Now that I've got your attention: I've tracked the Fog. It's heading toward Wayne Enterprises in Gotham. It already destroyed Star Labs in Philadelphia, and if it reaches Wayne Enterprises, the Shadows will have access to tech that could cause global disasters."
Jon whistled lightly, floating into the air above the school. "Wayne Enterprises? Yeah, that's a hard no. Someone needs to stop it. And as the fastest, I'll go."
"Looks like it's time to play hero. And hey, maybe saving Bruce Wayne's company will get you back in Batman's good graces. What do you think, Aqualad?" Asked Robin.
Aqualad nodded decisively. "Jon will stop the Fog before it reaches Wayne Enterprises. Roquette stays here and finishes the virus. Everyone else, protect her at all costs."
Without waiting for further input, Superboy shot into the air cape rippling, leaving behind a gust of wind.
"Whoa!" Artemis was caught off guard as Superboy's flight buckled the tree she was on and shed leaves. "Does he always do that?"
"Yup" Kid Flash replied with a grin.
Speedy scowled. "Real leadership material, Aqualad. You let him run off without saying a word."
Robin's voice was cold. "There was no time for a discussion, Red Arrow. And you stop to think that maybe he trusts us to handle things here while he takes care of the bigger problem?"
Miss Martian added, "Exactly. He knows we've got this."
"Just like we trust he'll handle the Fog. Likely even before Roquette's done with the Virus. That's who Superboy is. So maybe stop bitching, Red Arrow." Kid asserted in a serious voice.
Jon's voice echoed faintly through their link, filled with humor. "Damn right Wallman. Robin, get me a location on the Fog from Roquette."
---
Just after Superboy left, and unbeknownst to the Team, The League of Shadows was already moving in.
Speedy was too distracted by his anger to notice the silent figures creeping through the dark, blending seamlessly into the school's shadows.
They struck quickly, their assault beginning with a deafening crash of breaking glass that shattered the quiet.
They had officially breached into the building.
"Everyone, we're under attack! Secure the lab and keep them out!" Aqualad's voice boomed through the telepathic link.
The team leaped into action.
Speedy, Kid Flash, Artemis, Powerboy, and Miss Martian engaged the numerous enemies swarming the school.
Hook and Black Spider led the charge, their unique skills and the Shadow's elite training pushing the Team and keeping them busy.
Meanwhile, Aqualad and Robin stayed with Roquette, guarding the lab against anyone that got through the others.
Swish!! Swish!!
Clang!!
"Down!" Robin yelled, blocking the daggers shot at Roquette from above. "Aqualad, on the ceiling!"
The latter's tattoos lit up, the glow pushing away the darkness.
The assailant wore a white mask with red markings, a green outfit and wielded two Sais.
"Cheshire." Robin growled, unclasping his staff.
"Hand over the good doctor, and I'll make this painless, kid." Cheshire purred, landing into the lab with a menacing grace.
Robin's response was immediate, his staff blocking her first strike. "Not happening."
Cheshire smirked, her movements fluid as she danced around Aqualad's water constructs. "Suit yourself."
The fight was fast and brutal, but Cheshire was relentless, her twin blades keeping Robin and Aqualad on the defensive.
Finally, she disengaged with a laugh, her voice filled with cruel amusement. "This is fun but sorry to say, I'm just the distraction loves."
Before they could process her words, the ceiling above them caved in with a thunderous crash.
Through the debris dropped a new threat—a Shadow with wild blonde hair and glowing red eyes.

(Jon's P.O.V)
I hovered high above Wayne Enterprises, my senses sharp as I scanned the building below for any sign of the Fog or the one controlling it.
Everything seemed quiet for a moment—too quiet. Then I heard it.
A faint buzzing noise, like a swarm of angry bees, cut through the air. My eyes snapped toward the source, and there it was, a gray thin cloud- the Fog.
It surged into view like a metal storm, shimmering as its swarm of nanites moved with eerie precision. It tore through a section of the Wayne building, reducing gargoyle statues to dust in an instant.
In seconds, a chunk of concrete disaappered, exposing the building's innards. It was one thing to see it on screen but entirely different experiencing it first hand.
My mind raced with how to stop it.
This wasn't just some mindless machine I could take down with heat vision—it was billions of tiny weapons designed to destroy.
"Greedy little thing, aren't you?" I muttered, watching as the Fog turned toward me, almost as if it could hear me.
The swarm surged forward, moving faster and more aggressively than before, the buzzing growing louder as it closed the distance.
I dodged to the side, twisting in midair as it lunged past me.
"Must hate the truth," I mumbled, as the swarm regrouped for another attack.
Good it's focus was on me. Now I needed to neutralize this thing without causing collateral damage.
There had to be a weak point—something holding the swarm together.
With my enhanced vision, I pushed deeper, scanning the Fog. At first, all I could see were the countless tiny nanites, but then I noticed something.
Each nanite was connected by faint, almost invisible sparks of energy—an intricate network that bound the swarm together.
If I could disrupt that network, I could destabilize the Fog entirely.
"Alright, let's see how much you want to eat me." I muttered under my breath and shot higher into the sky, leading the Fog away from the city.
It followed me relentlessly, a shimmering cyclone of destruction. Once I was high enough above Gotham that no one could get hurt, infrastructure included, I stopped.
The Fog swirled around me, closing in like a predator circling its prey. My heart pounded in that mix of adrenaline and fear I had come to love. If my idea failed...well, let's hope it doesn't.
I focused on my bio-electric aura—something that always rested just above my skin, a thin coating of energy that activated on command.
Normally, I used it as a sphere to assist in flying or for reinforcing things against damage- controlled bursts for support/defense. But now, I needed to push it further. Or rather, push it all out.
The energy field crackled across my body as I forced the aura outward.
It wasn't the usual contained sphere I was used to, but a wild, erratic surge of bio-electricity that lashed out in every direction, blasting through the Fog.
The effect on the death cyclone was immediate.
The Fog's cohesion shattered, its network of nanites disrupted as the bio-electric surge tore through the invisible sparks binding them together.
Everything fell apart, insect like nanomachines raining down around me as harmless metal fragments.
I floated there for a moment, staring at the golden streaks of electricity still dancing around my hands.
My body felt... different, like I'd tapped into a part of my powers I didn't fully understand yet.
"Huh," I murmured, my tone a mix of awe and amusement. "That's new."
I shook off the thought. This wasn't the time to overanalyze. The Fog was neutralized, but I had more work to do.
Down on the street below, a black van was speeding away from Wayne Enterprises.
"Got you," I said under my breath, diving down at it.
The air screamed around me as I descended and slammed down hard on the van's hood, flipping it into the air like a toy car.
Before it even hit the ground, I caught it and gently placed the now-smoking vehicle on the street.
With one clean motion, I tore the van open from front to back, metal shredding in protest.
Inside, the driver was unconscious, and another guy—a terrified man wearing a visor with a glowing red lens—was clutching a lap top in his trembling hands. This was definitely the Shadow agent who had been controlling the Fog.
"Dine and dash?" I said, raising an eyebrow at him. "So not cool man. But don't worry, you'll get to pay the full bill—including the tips."
Before he could say anything, the sound of sirens filled the air as the police arrived.
I handed him over without a fight, stepping back to leave when a voice addressed me.
"Good job... uh?"
I turned to see a man with a mustache and a calm, steady demeanor looking me over. He radiated authority—the kind that only someone like Commissioner Gordon could pull off. Yep I knew him.
"Superboy," I said, introducing myself.
"These guys left Star Labs a mess," Gordon replied, his tone measured but impressed. "You stopped them before they could do the same here. Nice work."
I shrugged. "I was just in the area. Figured I'd help out."
I waved and flew off, a single thought making me chuckle to myself. I just talked to Barbara's dad.
---
On my way back, I tapped my earpiece to report my success. "Superboy to Team. Good news—the Fog's been neutralized."
But instead of my friends, a female voice answered me. Sinister and amused,
"Bad news—so have your teammates, Superboy."
The line went dead.
My stomach dropped, the sinking feeling gripping me like a vice.
"No," Immediate fear bubbled to the surface. This wasn't in Canon...this wasn't the plot...
Without another thought, I blasted off toward Happy Harbor, heart racing. I had to get there. And fast.
