Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Teen Wolf
Lucian stumbled as he exited the swirling portal, the iridescent light fading behind him. He blinked a few times, his senses struggling to adjust. A cool breeze rustled the dense canopy of trees above, and the scent of damp earth and pine filled the air. He was in a forest, the kind you'd expect to see in a small, rural town.
Taking a moment to steady himself, Lucian activated his gamer system by instinct.
"System," he said aloud, his voice steady despite the strange new surroundings. "Where am I?"
A translucent blue screen appeared before him, its letters glowing faintly in the dim forest light.
Location: Beacon Hills, three days before the beginning of the main timeline of Teen Wolf (MTV).
Lucian's eyes widened. Teen Wolf? Of all the worlds he could've landed in, he hadn't expected this one. The show was a supernatural drama full of werewolves, hunters, and various mythical creatures, with danger lurking around every corner.
Before he could process the implications, the system chimed again, displaying a new screen:
---
New Quest Issued!
Quest Name: Rise of the Alpha
Objective: Get bitten by an alpha werewolf (Peter Hale).
Reward: Modified Alpha Wolf Bloodline (Details unlocked upon completion).
----
Lucian stared at the screen, his heart pounding. A modified alpha bloodline sounded like an incredible boon, but the risk was undeniable. Peter Hale was not only ruthless but also unhinged, especially during this time in the storyline.
Before he could dwell on it, another quest notification popped up.
---
New Quest Issued!
Quest Name: The birth of True Alpha
Objective: Ensure Scott McCall is bitten by the alpha (Peter Hale).
Reward: Lycanroc Template (adaptation of Lycanroc's abilities according to the world level).
---
Lucian let out a low whistle. He was excited that he can also get a Pokemon template and that of also a wolf type Pokemon. He hadn't even taken his first steps in this world, and the system was already throwing major plot-altering tasks his way. Scott McCall's transformation into a werewolf was the catalyst for the entire show's events. If Lucian intervened here, the ripple effects could be enormous.
He decided to check his inventory to see what resources he had to work with.
"Open inventory," he said.
A digital interface appeared, showcasing several basic items:
ID: A fake identity that listed him as "Lucas Everhart," a newcomer to Beacon Hills.
Cash: $10,000 in small bills, conveniently packaged in a sturdy wallet.
Clothing Set: A modern wardrobe suitable for blending into small-town life.
"System, show the map," Lucian said, eager to locate Peter Hale.
The screen shifted to reveal a detailed map of Beacon Hills. A glowing red dot pulsed in a wooded area not far from his current location. It was labeled Peter Hale – Current Location.
"Guess we're diving right into it," Lucian muttered.
Meeting the Alpha
Using the map, Lucian navigated the forest, his heightened understanding from the system helping him move silently and efficiently. He soon found himself near an old, abandoned house—a ruin surrounded by overgrown vegetation.
This was the Hale House, a burned-out husk of its former self, and Peter Hale's current hiding spot. Lucian's stomach churned as he approached. He knew Peter was a cunning and dangerous individual, even in his weakened state.
Gathering his courage, Lucian stepped into the clearing and called out, "Peter Hale! I know you're there."
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, from the shadows of the ruins, a figure emerged. Peter Hale, disheveled and unkempt, looked at Lucian with sharp, calculating eyes. Despite his bedraggled appearance, his presence radiated menace.
"And who are you?" Peter asked, his voice dripping with suspicion.
Lucian took a deep breath, forcing himself to meet Peter's piercing gaze. "Someone who knows what you are and what you're planning. I can help you—if you help me."
Peter's expression darkened. "Help me? You're either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. What do you want?"
Lucian steeled himself. "I want you to bite me. Turn me into one of you."
Peter's brows furrowed, a smirk playing at his lips. "Most people run screaming when they find out about werewolves. And you're asking for it? Why?"
"I have my reasons," Lucian said carefully, knowing he couldn't reveal the system or his true origins. "Let's just say I know more than you think, and I can ensure your plans go smoothly. But I need to be a wolf to do that."
Peter circled him, eyes narrowing as he assessed Lucian. "Interesting. Most humans don't have the guts to look me in the eye, let alone demand to join my pack. But why should I trust you?"
Lucian hesitated for a moment before pulling out the wad of cash from his inventory. "Consider this an investment in our partnership. You bite me, and I'll make sure things work out in your favor."
Peter's smirk widened, but his eyes were cold. "Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you."
Before Lucian could brace himself, Peter moved with inhuman speed, sinking his claws into Lucian's shoulders and his teeth into Lucian's neck. A searing pain erupted through his body, unlike anything he had ever experienced. His vision blurred, and his knees buckled as a fiery energy coursed through his veins.
The last thing Lucian saw before darkness claimed him was Peter Hale's satisfied expression.
