Chapter 103: 101: Mad Titans
The backdrop was chaos—debris from destroyed ships floated aimlessly, and the void of space shimmered with residual energy from explosions. In the middle of this galactic graveyard, Sanctuary II loomed like a fortress, its outer hull scorched from the ongoing battle.
On its deck stood two of the most feared beings in existence, their ambitions so vast that the stars themselves seemed to dim under the weight of their presence.
Darkseid stood tall, his arms crossed, the molten glow of his Omega eyes intensifying. He exuded an aura of calm authority, the kind that came with absolute power and control. Opposite him was Thanos, gripping the Infinity Gauntlet on his left hand, the Power Stone and Reality Stone embedded in its surface radiating cosmic energy. In his right hand, he wielded the Chitauri scepter, the Mind Stone at its tip glowing ominously.
Thanos had earned these weapons through sheer ruthlessness. The Power Stone had once been in the possession of Ronan the Accuser, who sought to use it to obliterate Xandar.
But the Guardians of the Galaxy intervened, a team of misfits managing to defeat the Kree fanatic.
Thanos, however, was not one to leave loose ends. He intercepted Ronan shortly after his defeat, brutally killing him in a battle that showcased the Mad Titan's superiority.
He took the Power Stone from the Gaurdians, embedding it into his gauntlet, and left the Guardians to lick their wounds, promising they would meet again.
The Reality Stone had been hidden by King Bor of Asgard in a secure vault, its existence known only to a select few. Thanos, with his unrelenting pursuit of power, sought an alliance with Mr. Mxyzptlk, the trickster from the Fifth Dimension.
In a brief but devastating partnership, Mxyzptlk retrieved the stone for Thanos, pilfering it from its ancient safe.
With the Reality Stone in his possession, Thanos' dominion over the fabric of existence grew tenfold.
With these three stones, Thanos had reached a level of power that few could rival, and now he stood against a foe who eclipsed him in sheer dominance.
Thanos raised the gauntlet, the Power Stone glowing fiercely as he channeled its raw energy. "Darkseid," he rumbled, his voice a deep, guttural growl.
"You have made a grave mistake stepping into my domain. This galaxy, this universe—it belongs to me."
Darkseid tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "You speak of ownership as if you understand it, Titan. Power is not claimed through words; it is seized through action."
Without warning, Thanos unleashed a devastating blast from the Power Stone, a concentrated beam of violet energy hurtling toward Darkseid with the force to obliterate moons.
The air between them shimmered with heat and distortion as the beam surged forward.
Darkseid did not move. Instead, his Omega beams erupted from his eyes, twin streams of crimson energy that twisted and curved through the void with deadly precision.
The beams collided with Thanos' blast, creating a cataclysmic explosion that shook the deck of Sanctuary II. The shockwave rippled through the surrounding debris field, sending smaller ships spinning into the abyss.
Thanos was the first to charge, his hulking form closing the distance with surprising speed. He swung the Chitauri scepter at Darkseid's head, the Mind Stone at its tip glowing with golden light. Darkseid caught the weapon with one hand, his fingers crushing the metal shaft like paper.
"Pathetic," Darkseid sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.
Thanos responded by activating the Reality Stone. The shattered pieces of the scepter dissolved into a swarm of razor-sharp blades, each one flying toward Darkseid with deadly intent.
Darkseid raised his hand, summoning a shield of pure Omega energy. The blades struck the shield, disintegrating on impact, their fragments fading into nothingness.
"You wield these stones as a child wields toys," Darkseid said, stepping forward. "Their power is wasted on you."
Thanos snarled, using the Reality Stone to warp the battlefield. The deck of Sanctuary II twisted and contorted, its metal floor morphing into jagged spikes that surged upward, attempting to impale Darkseid.
At the same time, Thanos used the Power Stone to amplify his strength, leaping forward and delivering a titanic punch aimed at Darkseid's chest.
The punch landed with a deafening BOOM, sending shockwaves through the ship. The jagged spikes shattered as Darkseid slid back a few feet, the impact of the blow leaving a faint dent in his armor.
Darkseid raised an eyebrow, mildly impressed. "Is that the best you can do?"
Before Thanos could respond, Darkseid's fist lashed out with blinding speed, connecting with Thanos' midsection. The Mad Titan was sent hurtling backward, crashing through several walls of the ship before coming to a halt in the command center.
He groaned, clutching his stomach as he rose to his feet.
Darkseid appeared before him in an instant, his presence suffocating. "I expected more," Darkseid said, his voice low and menacing.
Thanos roared, activating the Power Stone once more. He slammed his fist into the floor, sending a wave of destructive energy rippling outward.
The walls and ceiling of the command center crumbled under the onslaught, but Darkseid remained unmoved, his form untouched by the destruction.
Thanos, realizing brute force alone would not suffice, turned to the Mind Stone. He pointed the glowing scepter at Darkseid, unleashing a psychic assault that delved into the New God's mind.
Darkseid paused, his expression unreadable as Thanos attempted to manipulate his thoughts. For a moment, the deck fell silent, the only sound the faint hum of the Mind Stone.
Then Darkseid laughed.
"You think you can invade my mind?" he said, his voice echoing with contempt. "You forget who I am."
With a surge of willpower, Darkseid shattered the psychic connection, sending a backlash of energy through the scepter. The weapon exploded in Thanos' hand, forcing him to drop it.
"You cannot touch me," Darkseid said, his Omega beams flaring to life once more. "Not in mind, not in body, not in soul."
Thanos, bloodied but unbowed, activated the Reality Stone again, summoning a vortex of chaos around Darkseid. The space around them twisted and fragmented, as if reality itself was being torn apart.
Darkseid stood at the center of the storm, his form glowing with the light of the Omega Effect.
"Impressive," Darkseid admitted. "But futile."
He raised his hand, and with a gesture, the vortex collapsed in on itself, the fractured space snapping back into place.
Thanos lunged forward, combining the Power and Reality Stones to enhance his speed and strength. His punches came faster and harder, each one a thunderous blow that could shatter planets.
Darkseid countered each strike with ease, his movements fluid and precise.
"You are strong, Titan," Darkseid said, grabbing Thanos by the throat. "But strength alone will not save you."
He lifted Thanos off the ground, his grip tightening. The Mad Titan struggled, his gauntlet glowing as he attempted to use the stones to free himself. But Darkseid's power was absolute.
With a flick of his wrist, Darkseid sent Thanos crashing into the deck, the impact creating a massive crater.
The battle raged on, the two titans clashing with a ferocity that shook the very fabric of reality. The deck of Sanctuary II was in ruins, and the surrounding void was littered with the remnants of destroyed ships.
Darkseid loomed over Thanos, his Omega beams charging for another devastating attack. "This universe is mine, Thanos," he declared. "And you are nothing more than a stepping stone to my dominion."
Thanos, bloodied but defiant, rose to his feet, the Infinity Gauntlet glowing with unbridled energy. "You underestimate me, Darkseid," he growled.
"And that will be your undoing."

A/N: Lets not forget that a 4 stone powered Thanos was nearly bested by Tony, Peter and Peter Quill. So its not much of a shocker to see that Darkseid is dominating im.
