"Good evening, Amamiya-kun~"

A cheerful, melodic voice rang out.

Amamiya opened the door, and the automatic sensor light flickered on.

Standing outside was a gyaru girl with a school bag slung over her shoulder. She wore a black choker around her neck, and under the glow of the light, her smile radiated both brightness and a hint of smugness.

It was Umi.

"You're showing up this late, and you didn't even send a message?" Amamiya asked as he stepped aside to let her in.

Umi breezed through the entrance, her movements light and unhurried. "While I was showering, an evil spirit appeared in the bathroom! It came out of the floor drain—so gross. I used 'Evil Spirits Repel' to deal with it."

She handed him her schoolbag and continued, her voice tinged with mock exasperation. "But then another spirit showed up behind me and kept circling around the house. It wouldn't leave, and I couldn't stand it anymore. Since we'll be entering the game tomorrow, I figured I needed a good night's sleep. So, I came over here... Are you surprised? Huh? Are you?"

Umi beamed triumphantly after her "grand reveal," clearly pleased with her unexpected visit.

Amamiya, however, remained unimpressed. "Oh, absolutely. I'm so shocked, I might just do a backflip."

"Hehe," Umi chuckled, clearly satisfied with his sarcastic response. She was about to say something else when a soft voice called out from the balcony.

"Amamiya, who are you talking to?"

"..."

The smile on Umi's face froze instantly.

Following the sound, she turned toward the balcony and caught sight of a figure—a girl with long black hair. Even in the dim light, Umi could recognize her. It was Miko.

The girl stood there casually, dressed in a pair of pajamas, as if she belonged in Amamiya's home.

It was nearly eleven at night, and here was a girl who hadn't gone home, lounging in a boy's apartment in her sleepwear.

Umi's lips pressed into a thin line as her pearly teeth bit down on her lower lip. Her once bright expression dimmed, replaced by one of awkward restraint. She lowered her gaze, staring at her toes as she muttered softly, "Oh... sorry. I didn't know Miko was here... My bad for interrupting."

She turned around quickly, adding with a forced smile, "It's so rude of me to show up unannounced. I'll just head back now."

With that, she made for the door.

'Bang!'

Amamiya reached out and pushed the door shut, raising an eyebrow. "You're already here, and now you want to leave?"

Umi froze in place, her hands clenching into fists. She struggled to keep her voice steady as she asked, "…Would it really be okay if I stayed?"

"It's just sleeping together," Amamiya replied nonchalantly. "Why would it bother anyone?"

"..."

Umi's eyes widened in disbelief, her cheeks flushing bright pink. She puffed them out in indignation, resembling an annoyed pufferfish.

"Sleeping together?!"

The words reverberated in her mind, leaving her both embarrassed and outraged.

'You're seriously suggesting that I stay here and share a bed with you and Miko? And you're saying it so casually? Shameless!'

Her hands balled into fists as her frustrations boiled over. She struck Amamiya squarely in the chest. "You're the absolute worst!"

Her thoughts were in turmoil. 'I kissed him just this afternoon, and now he's acting all cozy with Miko tonight? And what's this about 'sleeping together'? He's even suggesting a threesome... Unbelievable!'

"I won't let this slide!"

Fueled by a mix of jealousy and indignation, Umi resolved to teach this shameless "scumbag" a lesson.

Amamiya firmly grasped the blonde girl's wrist, his other hand slipping to Miko's waist. With a gentle but firm tug, he pulled the blonde closer to him.

"W-what are you doing?"

Umi stammered, her voice trembling. The warmth of Amamiya's arm against her skin left her flustered and slightly panicked.

"You come and go as you please—that's too much," Amamiya said seriously, his tone calm but authoritative. "I think you owe me an explanation."

Hearing this, Umi's frustration flared. 'An explanation?' she thought. 'Why should I explain? Shouldn't you be the one explaining yourself?'

"No explanation!" Umi gritted her teeth and glared at him, her voice tinged with grievance. "If you're looking for one, should I just call Miko over and ask her to explain?"

Unfazed, Amamiya turned toward the balcony and called out, "Miko, come here."

"Eh? Eh?"

Umi froze, startled.

'I didn't even shout, but he did?!'

The thought of Miko coming over made her heart race. Wouldn't this just make everything more awkward?

"Coming!"

Miko's voice responded cheerfully as she walked in from the balcony.

Umi hastily pushed Amamiya away, smoothing her hair self-consciously as Miko entered the room.

"Oh, Umi-san?" Miko said, blinking in surprise as her gaze fell on the gyaru girl standing in the entryway. "Why are you here so late?"

"Ahem... I had some, uh, unexpected situations," Umi coughed awkwardly and quickly recounted her story.

"I see," Miko said, nodding in understanding. "Then let's sleep together tonight."

"Huh?"

Miko pursed her lips before calmly explaining, "For the past few nights, I've been sneaking over here after my mom falls asleep and heading back early in the morning. I've been too tired to focus in class otherwise."

"Oh…"

Hearing this, Umi let out a quiet sigh of relief. It was a simple and innocent explanation—nothing like the scenario she had imagined. It turned out that Miko was just like her, staying over for practical reasons.

"I'll grab another blanket," Miko said as she headed upstairs.

Meanwhile, Umi glanced up at Amamiya and whispered apologetically, "I'm sorry. I misunderstood."

"This wasn't a misunderstanding," Amamiya replied, his tone serious. "It was an 'injustice.'"

"Injustice?" Umi hesitated, her expression shifting as a twinge of guilt crept in. On reflection, it did seem like an injustice after all.

Amamiya crossed his arms and sighed faintly. "I'm genuinely upset this time."

"That sounds oddly ominous," Umi murmured, clenching her fist and giving his chest a playful tap. "The way you said that reminded me of some greasy middle-aged uncle. Stop it!"

After a pause, she added, "I admit I misunderstood earlier, and I'm sorry. But you should've told me Miko was here in the first place!"

Amamiya spread his hands helplessly. "Miko asked me to keep it a secret. Didn't you also ask me to keep our previous... 'cohabitation' a secret?"

"Pfft."

Umi's cheeks turned a light pink as she huffed indignantly. "It wasn't 'cohabitation.' It was just... staying over!"

"..."

As the two exchanged words, Miko returned from upstairs, holding a neatly folded quilt.

"I'll help!" Umi quickly said, stepping forward to assist her.

"There's no need," Miko replied, smiling softly. "It's just a blanket. Oh, Umi-san, do you want to shower?"

Umi considered for a moment, placing a hand on her waist. "The night breeze is cooler, but I did sweat a bit after walking over here. I'll take a quick shower."

"The towel you used last time is still in the second locker," Amamiya called from the sofa. "Grab it yourself."

"I know~"

With a wave of her hand, Umi headed for the bathroom.

Opening the locker, she found her towel neatly folded alongside other personal items she had left there—a toothbrush, comb, cup—all meticulously arranged as though untouched since her last visit.

Her lips curled into a subtle smile as she grabbed the towel and stepped into the shower.

By the time Umi finished bathing, it was already past 11 p.m. She returned to the living room, where Amamiya, Miko, and even Shimizu—preoccupied with her phone—were gathered on the sofa, chatting idly.

Around 11:30, Miko began to yawn incessantly.

"Let's call it a night," Amamiya said, picking up the remote to turn off the TV.

The room grew quiet as the lights dimmed.

Not long after lying down, Miko's breathing grew slow and steady, signaling that she had drifted off to sleep.

Umi, however, remained wide awake. She turned slightly, her eyes landing on Amamiya.

Back at home, the nights always felt cold and empty. The lingering fear of evil spirits kept her constantly on edge, making it impossible to truly relax.

But now... here, she felt an inexplicable calmness.

Before long, a wave of drowsiness washed over her.

"Good night," she whispered softly in her heart, closing her eyes at last.
