Interlude 3. A Discussion On A Certain Day, In A Certain Place

An endless grassland, repurposed from higher-dimensional energy, served as the carpet.
A bright sun and moon simultaneously ruled the sky above.
It held no meaning but maintained an optimal temperature for living.
Three soft-looking sofas stood in the gentle wind-swept grassland. The material was unknown. If one had to describe it, they were pure white sofas that seemed to be made of gathered clouds.
Three figures were seen there.
One man and two women, each lying on a sofa. They seemed somewhat languid.
“What’s the status of that girl?”
The man spoke. He was a stalwart figure with a muscular build, white hair, and a white beard.
“The energy she started offering is still quite meager, but its growth is undeniable.”
One of the women replied. She had a generally plump physique and a gentle smile.
“Is it because we gave her a name?”
“That part is still… We can’t interfere or observe too much, you know.”
The man brought a holy grail filled with condensed energy to his lips.
“Energy from another world has a peculiar taste.”
“Well, have you already drunk your allotted portion?”
The woman put a hand to her mouth.
“It’s my prerogative to use my share as I please.”
The man sat up straight on the sofa. Seeing this, the woman also straightened her posture. However, the other woman remained lying on the sofa.
“I don’t really care either way.”
This one was more of a girl than a woman. She spoke lazily while lying on the sofa in a skillful posture, sitting cross-legged.
“At first, they called her a god from another world, so I was cautious, but she’s just a new god.”
The man turned his gaze to the girl.
“…That’s true. It’s been rare for new gods to be born recently. We should welcome her.”
“I don’t care as long as I get the energy.”
She spoke in a careless, almost dismissive manner.
“Has anything been said by the other gods?”
“None of them are interested. A few beast gods are making a fuss, but that’s usual.”
“What about Kazmus?”
She mentioned the only god with power comparable to the three.
“Hmph. He’s the biggest oddball. You can never tell what he’s thinking. We should leave him be.”
“His followers are quite capable, you know.”
“Hmph…”
The stalwart man sank deeply into the sofa, looking displeased.
“Well, let him do as he likes.”
He concluded arrogantly.
Thus, the gods’ discussion ended.

After each returned to their domain, only the plump goddess felt a small sense of discomfort. The real apostle that the new god supposedly brought…
After thinking for a while, she sought out a person of strong faith who had contact with the apostle. Fortunately, she found one quickly.
Interfering directly with the world requires vast energy. So she decided only to send a message.
She communicated the minimum necessary to a kind-looking woman using minimal energy. Additionally, she granted her a tiny bit of power. In exchange, she took a small portion of the woman’s power.
Whether it succeeded or not didn’t matter. She was only a little curious.
And so, she merged back into the earth as usual.
