Kigal-Note

Kigal-Note/Traits: Celestial-type Traits (Post-Nightmare Festival)

General Description:

The Celestials are semi-divine creatures that are close to the gods. Their characteristics are their dove-like wings and halos above their heads. All Celestials have at least 2 traits: one that represents what ranking they have in the Celestials' racial pyramid, and one that defines whether the Celestial is humanoid or not.

While not a specific effect, Celestials have something close to a homing instinct to the "heavens", allowing them to easily deduce where to go if they wish to return to the open skies from any closed environments.

Another important point is that all Celestials, after the events of the Nightmare Festival, are incapable of obtaining the Curse attribute anymore. For the individuals who had skills/titles of that attribute before the update, they were granted a rebuild and free skills of a different attribute category.

Description:

The three traits, [Low Celestial], [Celestial], and [High Celestial] are granted to the divine beings of different racial ranks. Low is generally for the creatures of rank G-to-F, the normal trait is for the E ranks up to the weaker C ranks, and High is restricted only to the stronger half of the C-ranks Celestials, the B-rank Celestials, and of course, the A-rank Celestials.

All the traits include a power-up to Sacred-type attributes such as Holy and Lightning, a reduction for Gloom-type attributes such as Darkness and Curse, plus increased weakness against Gloom-type attributes and the "Celestial-slaying metal", the Copper attribute.

In addition, Celestials have it easier to obtain positive Karma Values, while higher-ranked Celestials gain special bonus effects such as being able to observe Karma Values or improving their abilities to remove impure energies.

Trait: Fallen Celestial

Abilities:

  • Increases status values while in dark areas: [Medium]
  • Increases status values while in well-lit areas: [Small]
  • Sacred-type attribute enhancements: [Medium]
  • Gloom-type attribute enhancements: [Small]
  • Increased Copper attribute damage received: *2.5
  • Positive Karma Value decrease: [Small]
  • Negative Karma Value increase: [Small]
  • Incapable of obtaining the Curse attribute.

Description:

[Fallen Celestial] is a special classification trait again that is only used when a Celestial evolves to a species based on negative Karma Values. Their wings turn dark and they lose their halos. It is also impossible to reattain the ranking-based Celestial traits without clearing specific, race-limited quests, along with evolving one more time.

Other than that, [Fallen Celestial] grants some changes to the Celestial's strengths and weaknesses. Now they do not take any extra damage from Gloom-type attacks, they are even granted a boost to skills of those attributes, and they will gain an increase in strength whether the area is well-lit or not.

The sole downside of this trait is that their Karma Values will be more difficult to raise to a positive value again, which, by extension, makes it much more difficult to return to being a normal Celestial. That, and [Fallen Celestial] has no higher stage, so there will be no special traits as those given by the higher-ranked Celestial traits.

Trait: Humanoid Celestial

Abilities:

  • Reduced necessary LP to recruit other Celestials by 10 (cannot go lower than 10)
  • Reduces necessary LP to recruit other humanoids by 5 (cannot go lower than 10)

Description:

[Humanoid Celestial] is one of the traits that are used to represent whether the Celestial is a humanoid or not. Those with this trait are of the former category.

As a humanoid-connected trait, [Humanoid Celestial] grants reductions in LP costs for recruiting other humanoids/Celestials to the trait owner's groups. A simple trait to compensate for the overly complicated ranking-type Celestial traits.

Trait: Monstrous Celestial

Abilities:

  • Increases the values of HP and MP stats: *2.0
  • Increases the values of MAG stats: *1.5
  • Increases the values of RES stats: *1.3
  • Negates all previously mentioned effects if hit by a powerful-enough Gloom-type attack or Copper-type attack.

Description:

[Monstrous Celestial] is the counterpart of [Humanoid Celestial]. It is a trait given to any non-humanoid Celestials alongside the ranking-type traits, but the target does not need to be a "monster". Normal animals who have the "Celestial gene" in them are also valid targets for this trait.

The effects of [Monstrous Celestial] are to grant a great increase in the value of the owner's stats, doubling their HP and MP values along with improving their MAG and RES. This is to enhance any "divine miracles" the Celestial may be able to use, as those kinds of abilities tend to rely on MAG.

However, a strong-enough attack of a Gloom-type attribute attack, or an attack from the "Celestial slaying metal", the Copper attribute, is enough to cancel out this boost and leave the non-humanoid Celestial with only their original status values.

Rouge's comment: As if any Celestial with respect for themselves would take the Curse attribute!

Flint's comment: ...(I better not tell him about Noire.)
