Kigal-Note

Kigal-Note/Traits: Dinosaur-type Traits (Post-Nightmare Festival)

General Description:

Dinosaurs. The greater reptiles and the lesser dragons. A species of prehistoric creatures that have survived the long ages and are still active today. Some of them are living fossils, but they're still peachy.

Trait: Dinosaur

Abilities:

  • Increases the value of HP and SP stats: *1.2
  • Decreases the value of MP and MAG stats: *0.8
  • Positive correction for resisting physical-type status ailments: [Medium]
  • Positive correction to Jurassic-type skills: [Medium]

Description:

This is the common [Dinosaur] trait. Unless the dinosaur in question is some freak of nature, they will be using this baby. Dinosaurs who travel and/or live in herds often have inborn Leadership-type skills to allow them to move as a pack, so the trait does not grant any specific enhancements for that.

Trait: Dinosaur (Giant)

Abilities:

  • Increases the value of HP, SP, STR, and VIT stats: *1.5
  • Decreases the value of MP and MAG stats: *0.6
  • Decreases the value of SPD and DEX stats: *0.8
  • Positive correction for resisting physical-type status ailments: [High]
  • Positive correction to Jurassic-type skills: [High]
  • Increases the LP cost needed to be recruited to groups led by leaders that do not own the [Dinosaur (Giant)] trait: *1.5

Description:

[Dinosaur (Giant)] is a trait granted to the biggest of the big dinosaurs. This trait grants a higher increase in the physical status values compared to [Dinosaur], these giants are also less speedy compared to the normal breed, but they have better resilience against certain status ailments.

The biggest demerit, however, is that these dinosaurs will cost more LP for non-giant dinosaurs to recruit them to their Leadership Skill-created groups. A necessary setback, considering they're so goddamn big, both literally, and as a threat.

Trait: Dinosaur (Aquatic)

Abilities:

  • Increases the value of HP and SP stats: *1.4
  • Decreases the value of MP and MAG stats: *0.8
  • Decreases Water- and Ocean attribute damage taken: *0.7
  • Positive correction to Jurassic-type skills: [Medium]
  • Positive correction to sea-related skills: [Medium]

Description:

Even the seas are not safe for these Jurassic giants. [Dinosaur (Aquatic)] grants their owners an extra advantage when it comes to living in the sea. The downside is that they seem to have lost the inborn resilience against certain status values in exchange for this homefield advantage. Either that or the Gods decided to be "fair".

Trait: Dinosaur (Avian)

Abilities:

  • Increases the value of SP, SPD, and DEX stats: *1.2
  • Decreases the value of MP and MAG stats: *0.8
  • Decreases Weather-type attribute damage taken: *0.8
  • Positive correction to Jurassic-type skills: [Small]
  • Positive correction to flight-related skills: [Medium]

Description:

The land, the sea, and even the sky! They are everywhere!

Jokes aside, [Dinosaur (Avian)] is a trait given to airborne dinosaur creatures. Reflecting the fact that they sometimes are categorized as "flying reptiles" instead of proper dinosaurs, the [Dinosaur (Avian)] trait does not grant as impressive "direct attack power" as the other Dinosaur-type traits. This one is more aimed at speed and movability, especially in the air.

Trait: Dinosaur (Fossil)

Abilities:

  • Increases the value of HP, STR, and VIT stats: *1.4
  • Decreases the value of MP and MAG stats: *0.5
  • Treated as an Undead-type trait.
  • Decreases land-based Landscape-category attribute damage taken: *0.8
  • Positive correction to Jurassic-type skills: [Small]

Description:

Fossils are popular remedies for learning more about dinosaurs. So, why can't there be a trait for the undead versions?

[Dinosaur (Fossil)] is an auxiliary trait given to the Fossil-type undead, granting the undead the extra Dinosaur-related abilities it needs to be the relics of a bygone era. It has an increased defense against land-based Landscape-type damage due to how fossils are buried under the ground.

Noire's comment: Don't have any stupid ideas like "a dinosaur may be able to forge better weapons than a lizard".

Flint's comment: Hey, how shallow would I need to be to even consider changing my race for such a low-thought-out idea? ...Why are you preparing your bow? Hey, don't aim it at me! HEEEELP!! CRAZY ANGEEEEEEL!!!
