Night had fallen. The airship flew to the site of the third stage. Risotto meanwhile walked around the airship.

'From the looks of it, it's going to be a long flight. And I don't feel like sleeping yet. In that case, I'll take a look around, see if there's anyone I can meet or anything I can find out.'

Risotto wandered leisurely around the airship for almost ten minutes. Soon he came across a gymnasium.

'Wow. There's even a gym in here.'

He looked inside and was a little surprised. Chairman Nethero was playing ball along with two boys. The very same boys, one with grey hair, the other with dark green hair. The sight was truly amazing. The boys tried their best to take the ball away from the old man, but he did not strain to get away from all attempts to do so. And he did it with one hand. One of the guys even decided to try to act unconventionally, he decided to use his shoes to weaken the attention of the grandfather, and the other tried to sneak up from behind. But the old man had a quick reaction, he easily jumped away from the guy behind him and dodged the shoe. But the kid immediately launched another shoe right at his chin. Netero dropped the ball, the grey-haired boy pushed him aside, and now they were both reaching for the ball, and about to get it, but the old man pushed himself off the floor with great force, and with one jerk took the ball. And with all this he remained perfectly calm.

'Well, that old man's got a lot of strength. He's the chairman of the Hunter's Association for a reason. Even if these guys try to do it all night, it won't work.'

But then the grey-haired guy decided to call it a day.

- Come on Gon, we don't stand a chance.

- But Killua, we almost got the ball!

- Come on! He didn't even use his other hand! Suit yourself, I'm going.

Before the guy left the gym, Risotto used a disguise. When the guy came out he didn't notice anything and moved on. He was a little angry.

'This guy, Killua, is pretty weird. When he tried to take the ball away I noticed that his movements were quite unusual. At one point he created some illusions, with which he began to move around the old man. We should follow him.'

Risotto followed quietly behind Killua, who did not realise that he was being followed. There were two guys walking towards him. Killua accidentally touched one of them on the shoulder and walked on. But the guys were pretty hurt by it.

- Hey, didn't they teach you to apologise?! Hey, where are you going, you punk?! - But Killua didn't care, he just kept walking. These two blokes tried to stop him. But when they ran up and touched him, they died a few moments later. Killua muttered something to himself and walked on as if nothing had happened.

'My suspicions have been confirmed. This guy definitely has assassin skills. He moves pretty fast. Finished off those two in just a second, one punch each. But he didn't use any outside weapons, he finished them off with his hand. His hand had changed, veins showing through, and his nails had turned into real claws. Was he some kind of mutant? But to hell with him, let him go, or he might see me and want to kill me. He's no match for me, but I'd rather not get in trouble. And I don't want to kill children. I'd better go to bed.'

Risotto went to his room. On the way he came across the gym again, where Netero and Gon were still playing.

'They've got a lot of energy. Are they really planning on playing until morning? Fine, let them play.'

Risotto went to his room and went to bed.

It was late morning or even afternoon. Risotto went to go out, the airship was on some tower and there were participants.

- Oh, you woke up just in time! - Said Netero, -I'm just explaining the stage.

Risotto came out and stood with the rest of the contestants.

- You must come down within the next 72 hours. If you don't, you're out.

Risotto walked to the edge to gauge the height.

'Trying to climb down the wall is suicide. I don't think there's anyone who can do it. No, we'll have to find another way.'

Meanwhile, some nutter decided to try to climb down the wall.

'Earth to metal, you fool.'

Risotto noticed that there were fewer people. It wasn't like they had decided to climb down either. It was as if they had fallen through the ground, which turned out to be generally true. Stepping on one of the slabs he fell down. He found himself in an empty room. Against the wall was some sort of pedestal with five bracelets on it.

'Apparently I'll have to wait for four more.'

Risotto picked up his bracelet and waited for someone else to plop down beside him. He waited for almost an hour until finally four more contestants fell. He was a little surprised as they were the same Gon, Killua, a blond guy and some man in a business suit.

- Oh,' Gon exclaimed, 'You're the one who got through the second stage the first time.

- That's the one. - Risotto said calmly and indifferently, 'Take and put on those bracelets and we will start this test.

As everyone put on their bracelets, the voice of a possible examiner sounded in the room:

- In order to proceed further, you must vote. If any side has fewer votes, they are on the losing side. I think you'll all understand that. To get to the end you will have to vote all the time.

They walked along the stone corridors for some time before Gon finally spoke.

- We still haven't introduced ourselves. My name is Gon, this is Killua, and these two are Kurapika and Leorio. And what's your name?

Risotto squinted at him. He was hesitant to give his name. But he decided to give it anyway.

- Risotto Nero.

- Not a common name. And your clothes are strange. Are you from far away lands?

- You could say that.

Soon they came to a door.

- A cross to open it, a zero not to open it... - Leorio said and added: - I think it's clear enough.

Everyone pressed the cross and went on.

Then there was a fork in the road. You have to vote for zero to go right, and the cross to go left.

- If we go left, there's a chance of getting trapped, because most people in this situation go left.

- Hey! Why are you calling the shots here?! - Leorio was indignant.

- Let's just say that I have leadership experience. And besides, we don't have much choice anyway.

- And I think that--

- That's enough! - Kurapika said loudly, interrupting Leorio, 'There's no time to argue now. We'll trust you, Risotto. We really don't have much choice. And plus I agree with you about going to the right.

Everyone else agreed and moved on.

Eventually they came to some room that looked like an arena. In the middle was a large square with a spiked chasm around it, on the opposite side from the heroes is the same passageway as theirs. On the wall to the right is a large monitor.

- This is the arena! - Said the examiner through the speakers, -This is where you will have to fight five enemies. If you win three times you will win, and if you lose the same number of times, vice versa. Anyway, you choose who goes next.

- Well, who will go first? - Asked Leorio to everyone.

- I'll go, - said Risotto, - I want to assess the enemy's strength.

From the floor beneath them a passageway led to the arena, the same was on the other side.

Risotto stepped into the arena, listening to Gon's encouraging voice.
