King of Gamblers: Growing from a Student to a Jade King

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Encirclement

The rain poured harder, the sky growing ever darker, as though heaven itself was shutting out the light of life for someone. A group of people hurried towards Seventh Master's restaurant, its diners hastily evicted by his men, leaving behind a chorus of complaints and protests.

Malan, drenched and bloodied, marched resolutely towards Seventh Master's office, fury in every step. We followed closely as the door was thrown open with urgency.

Inside, we found Ma Qing and Seventh Master deep in discussion. At the sight of Malan, both stood up in shock. Malan, visibly seething, exclaimed, "Father, Skinny Monkey has stolen your materials and even dared to hit me."

Her words were shrewdly chosen, deliberately framing the stolen goods as Seventh Master's rather than hers. This stoked his fury before he could think otherwise.

"What materials?" Seventh Master asked as he slammed the papers in his hand onto the desk, his anger unmistakable.

"Yes, Father, those materials. We won them in a bet, and you entrusted me to handle them. Somehow, Skinny Monkey got wind of it and demanded a cut. I told him he could buy them if he had the money—business is business, after all. He offered 80 million for them, but their value is 160 million. Naturally, I refused. He then proposed selling the materials first and giving me the remaining money later, but I didn't trust him. When I declined, he lost his temper, stole the materials outright, and even assaulted me!" Malan's voice trembled with indignation.

Listening to her, I couldn't help but smirk inwardly. Malan's lying skills were remarkable, and her composed demeanor only made her story more believable to Seventh Master.

Seventh Master's silence filled the room, his gaze heavy. Chen Xi spoke up, "Seventh Master, those materials were our joint venture. Malan came to us immediately after being attacked. Skinny Monkey may be from our Wax Village, but blatant robbery and assault on Miss Ma? That's outrageous—"

Seventh Master raised a hand, silencing Chen Xi. Picking up the phone, he dialed a number. We watched in quiet anticipation. Despite Chen Xi's attempts to fan the flames, Seventh Master remained composed, determined to make his own judgment.

"Seventh Master? What's the matter? I'm at the gambling tables—care to join?"

The background noise of gambling was chaotic, but Skinny Monkey's voice was clear.

"Did you take the materials? The tri-color ones?" Seventh Master's voice was ice cold.

"You mean Malan's? Yeah, they're with me. Why?"

Seventh Master clenched his fist tightly and ended the call abruptly. We could feel the tension lift slightly, but only because we knew Skinny Monkey's fate was sealed.

"Chen Xi, bring him back. I want to know where he found the audacity to touch my materials," Seventh Master said, his voice calm but laden with menace.

Though his tone was restrained, his trembling hands betrayed his fury. None of us dared to speak, and Chen Xi quickly ordered, "Let's go. You, you, and the rest—come with me."

We descended the stairs in silence, our footsteps and the sound of car doors closing the only noise cutting through the rain-soaked night. Chen Xi commanded us to arm ourselves as we piled into the cars, a convoy of vehicles setting out under the stormy skies.

In the back seat, Qian Guang held his phone, muttering, "Should we deal with Chen Xi too?"

I shook my head firmly. "Not yet. He's still useful. His credibility with Seventh Master keeps us in good standing. Besides, the timing isn't right."

Qian Guang nodded reluctantly and made a call, confirming that everything was ready. Our convoy arrived at the bustling Rui Li World nightclub, surrounding it in an instant. Security guards at the entrance froze in terror, dropping their cigarettes as we stepped out, umbrellas shielding a select few from the rain.

Inside, chaos unfolded. Chen Xi's men swiftly overpowered Skinny Monkey's lackeys, sending them sprawling to the ground. The few who attempted to resist were quickly subdued by Zao Kui and Zhuzi, who moved like grim reapers.

As we advanced, Chen Xi barked, "Don't smash anything! This place will be mine soon. No need to wreck our own property!"

His greed echoed through the grandiose hall as we reached the elevator. Only a few of us entered, while the rest took the stairs, sealing off every exit.

Upstairs, Chen Xi greeted Skinny Monkey's men with feigned camaraderie, only to suddenly draw a knife and strike. The betrayal was swift and brutal, leaving his target crumpled to the floor. Before anyone could react, Chen Xi had dealt more blows, his fury unrelenting.

The carnage left Skinny Monkey's men too paralyzed with fear to resist. Chen Xi, his blade now clean, kicked the fallen man one last time. "Feel good robbing me, huh?"

As we cornered Skinny Monkey, he realized the game was up. Desperately, he tried to play innocent, offering to take the materials directly to Seventh Master. But his lies faltered, and we claimed what was ours, leaving him to face the consequences.

The rain outside mirrored the storm brewing within. This was no conclusion—only the beginning of a far greater reckoning.
