Lady of Curses

Chapter 24-Resting bear

After Kayle announced the town's name, Aella looked around her. This town was different from the one in Safury's plane, but it was still a sight to see. She could see multiple people here walking around just going about their day, from adventures going about to children playing.

The city was lively and the atmosphere was good, but it was past midday so Aella decided to move on and get done with things. ''So where to first?''

The party let Aella look around the town, and they would have probably let her do that longer but Aella wanted to leave some positive impression on them, so they summon her again, and making them wait probably wasn't the way.

''Adventurers guild.'' Hearing this Aella just nodded and started to follow the party while they made their way to the guild.

It didn't take long before they arrived at the guild. The adventures guild had an impressive, wooden three-story high building. Walking inside the first thing she noticed was, the receptionists at the other end, a massive board with quists plastered on it, and a bar on the other side where there were plenty of adventurers enjoying themselves.

But while Aella was looking around she still followed the party as they lined up to one of the receptionists. The line wasn't too long and it moved at a decent pace, so it didn't take long before it was the party's turn.

''Welcome, how can I help you?'' The receptionist was a mature woman with light brown hair and eyes, she looked a the party and gave them a professional smile as she talked.

''We would like to sell some monster materials and register the completion of a quest.'' Kayle was the one to speak as the party leader.

''Of course, please give me your license so that we can proceed.'' Kalye took out his adventurer's card and gave it to her.

It took a little bit before the receptionist confirmed what she needed before she handed the card back to Kayle.

''Right, I see that your party has taken an investigations quest, so I will need you to write a report and then we will send a team to confirm things, after that, we will give the promised reward.'' Still wearing her professional smile she gave them the needed information.

''Of course.'' Kayle knew how these things go, so he just nodded and started to make way for the next adventurer.

After they went to another receptionist who dealt with monster materials, and fortunately there wasn't a line to wait, so they could get right to it.

''Welcome.'' The receptionist this time was a tall man with black hair and dark eyes, he didn't have the professional smile his colleague had, if anything he looked somewhat bored.

This receptionist had a modified table in front of him that had a section of the table dented in, where the adventurers put their materials. So without saying anything the party started to dump the loot that they got from these monsters.

While the party was taking their loot and putting it on the table, Aella and Grefured just watched from the sidelines. They started with the goblin monster cores, then with the Drekavaces monster cores, and at the end, Kayle put the troll's core on top. One interesting thing Aella observed was that no matter how many monster cores they put in the dent of the table, they never went over the edge, so Aella concluded that some kind of magic was at work.

After the party was done the receptionist started to reevaluate the cores. It took some time before he was done, but after he had counted everything he did something behind the desk, and the cores disappeared, and in their place, some coins appeared. Aella couldn't really see how many coins did the party get, because they were in the desk's hole, but she still could see some gold coins, some silver, and even some copper coins.

She wasn't really knowledgeable about the value of these coins, for example, how much a loaf of bread cost, but she knew that the coins were 100 of each, meaning that 100 copper coins equaled 1 silver coin and 100 silver coins equaled 1 gold coin.

While Aella was thinking about coins Kayle took those coins and put them in an empty pouch before strapping it to his side. After that was done they left the building.

''We should probably get a place to sleep.'' The next thing on their list was to get some rooms, fortunately, they weren't new to this town so they already had an inn they favored.

''♪~~~'' While they were making their way to the inn, they went by a fountain where Aella saw an elf playing guitar. The melody was soft and calming and was a little unusual in this bustling town, but there were plenty of people stopping by to listen, some even threw a coin or two in the cowboy-like hat that was sitting near that elf's feet. But the part didn't stop, so after a while Aella didn't see the elf or hear the melody that was played by the elf.

''Restin bear?'' That was what was written on a wooden sight hanging right above the entrance of the inn, which Aella presumed, they were looking for. While Aella was a little confused by the sight the rest of the party had already gone in, so she quickly went inside to look for them.

''So for how long?'' Aella had missed the first half of the conversation Kayle was having with the lady that was behind a counter, but it looked like she was familiar with the party.

''5 days.'' Aella went next to June and didn't say anything, while the lady took a quick glance at Aella before she returned her attention back to Kayle.

''Rooms as usual?''

''Yes.'' Hering Kayle confirm, the lady gave him four keys. Kayle automatically gave the keys out, one to Hubert, one to June, one to Sam and Alex, and the last one he kept himself. After that, he gave some coins to the lady, and the transaction was finished.

''Let's get our stuff sorted, and meet down here after about 30 minutes.'' With that said the party went up each to their own room, while Aella and Grefured followed June to her room.
