Limitless Ascension: Strength Amid Adversity

Chapter 84

While most cultivators were getting utterly wrecked, a group of monks was cruising through Medicine King Valley.

“Bald donkey, just surrender!” Halfway up the mountain, a few odd-shaped medicinal herbs sprang up, launching sharp assaults.

Boom~!

A deep bell rang out.

A golden bell appeared, shimmering with swirling Sanskrit like tadpoles, exuding an unbreakable aura.

At the forefront, Master Randel unleashed a protective golden bell, easily fending off the attacks from the herbs. He then elegantly raised his glass-like palm and dashed forward, slapping each of those herbs one by one.

Bang bang bang bang!

The herbs fell to the ground, like they’d been struck by lightning, lifeless.

“Master Randel is amazing! With him leading the way, we’re sure to return loaded this time!” One of the disciples darted over, beaming with joy as he collected the herbs and stuffed them into his storage bag.

The monks from Hanging Temple looked at Master Randel with deep admiration, regarding him as a divine being!

At the beginning.

When they first entered Medicine King Valley, everyone was terrified and uneasy.

They realized their cultivation levels had dropped back to the Qi Refining Stage, while the herbs they encountered were outrageously strong, easily toying with them.

But quickly, the esteemed elder from Hanging Temple dispelled their fears with his overwhelming power!

Already, he had suppressed at least dozens of herbs on their journey and collected them all!

The monks from Hanging Temple could hardly contain their joy!

After all, normally, finding just one medicinal herb outside was exceedingly difficult. Yet, here they were, not long into their adventure, reaping such huge rewards—making them even more eager for what lay ahead.

At this rate, weren’t they going to clean out the treasures of Medicine King Valley? They might even snag the Medicine King himself!

“Yes, it all depends on Master Randel! Once we get back, Hanging Temple will definitely reward us. This trip was absolutely worth it!” The group of monks was all smiles, radiating cheerfulness.

“Amitabha~” Master Randel clasped his hands, chanting the Buddha chant instinctively, a flash of subtle brilliance flickering in his eyes.

Inside, he felt a swell of pride!

“Sure enough, all the preparations I made were worth it. Last time I was oppressed in cultivation, exposed various weaknesses, and got trampled by those little things. This time, I can finally hold my head high and get what I want!”

Then.

Master Randel and his crew continued forward.

They saw some cultivators being bullied by herbs, forced to perform all sorts of eye-watering acts.

Among them were royal relatives from some dynasty, high elders from various sects, and masters from famous cultivation families. Their identities were colorful, all influential figures in the area.

Yet now, they were being dominated by the herbs, treated like slaves, rendering them powerless despite their desire to fight back.

Watching them, dust-covered and devoid of hope, almost on the brink of collapse, the monks from Hanging Temple couldn’t help but feel a chill, secretly thanking their lucky stars for Master Randel’s protection.

Seeing this ridiculous scene.

Master Randel appeared calm on the surface, but he couldn’t help but empathize because, a hundred thousand years ago in Medicine King Valley, he too had been a pitiful being being bullied.

But thankfully, all of that had sunk into the dust of history.

Now he was back, reformed, and here to suppress Medicine King Valley!

“Whoa, look at this bunch of old bald donkeys! Guys, come over and take them down!” One herb shouted excitedly.

“Bold!”

Master Randel bellowed, raising his hand, a golden palm forming in the air just like a Buddha striking down, smashing that herb into the ground, juice splattering everywhere, the scent of medicine wafting through.

“Wow! How dare you attack our noble medicine clan, you old bald donkey!” Several herbs nearby charged forth, brimming with aggression, unleashing their various tricks.

Swish swish swish~

The energy surged wildly, kicking up clouds of dust.

“Bring it on! Saves me the trouble of searching for you!” Master Randel sneered, fearlessly engaging.

In a split second, he was entangled with a group of herbs.

Throughout the fight, Master Randel, shielded by his golden bell, withstood all sorts of bizarre attacks.

And it didn’t end there; he swung his fists, packing a powerful punch that sent the energetic herbs crashing down.

“This old bald donkey’s turtle shell is pretty darn tough!”

“Don’t get discouraged, everyone! Focus your attacks! In this Medicine King Valley, we’re the bosses!”

“Exactly, let’s go!”

……

Before long, the golden bell was riddled with cracks, only to be shattered shortly after.

Seeing this, the remaining herbs were ecstatic, ramping up their assault even more.

In their view, this old bald donkey was about to face some serious consequences.

Strangely, Master Randel showed no signs of panic. Instead, he wore a deep, knowing smile.

Boom boom boom~!

Amidst the explosive light, a slender figure stood strong.

“How is this possible?!” The little ones around them were astonished—this was beyond their comprehension.

Master Randel’s body radiated a golden glow, with shimmering skin patterns that sparkled like treasures, seemingly impervious to all external forces.

From the smoke, an aged voice floated out.

“To deal with you lot, over the long years, this old monk painstakingly practiced body refinement techniques, covering all weaknesses, traveling famous mountains and rivers, expending all means and resources to forge my body.”

“Today, my indestructible body has reached the pinnacle stage, just one step away from the legendary transformation. Even if my cultivation is suppressed to the Qi Refining Stage, what of it? With my powerful physique, you still can’t do a thing to me!”

Master Randel clasped his hands and stepped forward, his murky eyes gleaming with brilliance.

Using his indestructible body, he began countering the herbs’ attacks while retaliating one by one.

Gradually, most of the herbs were suppressed, leaving only a small handful, terrified and fleeing without a trace.

The nearby rescued cultivators cheered with joy, many of them moved to tears, kneeling to express their thanks.

“Thank you, Master, for saving us! We’ll remember your kindness for a lifetime!”

“We can’t repay your great mercy!”

“Master pulled us from the brink; your merits are boundless, a living Buddha!”

Calls of gratitude echoed one after another.

Master Randel, soaking up the attention, feigned a compassionate look and sighed, “Good, good. This is what I should do.”

Upon hearing this, the nearby cultivators were even more in awe, unanimously considering him a sage.

The team from Hanging Temple beamed with pride, casting glances at each other filled with smug satisfaction.

Master Randel coughed a few times, and several disciples immediately understood, swiftly stuffing the medicinal herbs scattered on the ground into their storage bags.

These were all trophies!

Looking over this grateful bunch, Master Randel appeared kind-hearted, but inside he secretly scoffed.

He was here, after all, for the medicinal herbs.

Those earlier pleasantries? Just for show.

“Master, may we follow you? We want nothing but to stay by your side!” One cultivator, fearing being enslaved by the herbs again, tentatively asked.

Master Randel smiled, “Amitabha, monks are filled with compassion. I understand your concerns, but fear not. Just follow me, and I will protect you.”

With that, the surrounding cultivators were ecstatic to the point of tears, showering him with flattery, almost lifting Master Randel higher than the Buddha himself!

Master Randel feigned calm, but inside he was already soaring with joy.

He knew that by the end of this event, he would gain both fame and fortune, elevating his status in Hanging Temple!

“Amitabha, I’m eager to see what else in this Medicine King Valley dares to threaten me!”

With a few victories under his belt, Master Randel brimmed with confidence, leading the group toward the deeper parts of Medicine King Valley.
